Ch. 19 Elizabeth
“Elizabeth…are you ok?” I could hear Tristan’s voice beside me. I opened my eyes trying to figure out if I was in fact ok.
“I think so, you?” I said after a moment.
“I’m fine. We have to get out of here.” He said getting off the car. I moved to do the same as well, but my door was stuck. Tristan came around and pried the door open and helped me out.
“Come one there is an old outpost cottage not far from here.” He said helping me climb out of the ditch we were in. We made our way to the cottage and were relieved to find it open. These cottages hadn’t been used in years since rogue attacks were few nowadays.
We made our way inside and I realized we were soaking wet. Tristan made quick work of getting a fire started, and the cottage started to warm up. It was a small cottage with a tiny kitchen area and small cot. There was a dining table with some chairs, and one comfortable looking reading chair in the corner. That was the only thing that looked inviting. I started looking around for some towels and found nothing but some old blankets that looked surprisingly clean.
“Why don’t you sit by the fire, you’re going to get sick.” Tristan said, quietly. I brought over one of the blankets and handed it to him. He laid it in front of the fire and started taking his coat and shirt off.
“What are you doing?” I asked trying to focus on his face and away from his wet bare chest.
“Trying to not get sick. You should be doing the same, your soaking wet.” He pointed out. The logical side of me told me he was right but having him undress in front of me was making it hard to think about anything else but him. He cleared his throat as he was unbuttoning his pants.
“Oh! Sorry…here.” I said grabbing one of the other blankets and handing it to him. I then turned around, giving me a chance to clear my mind. I realized now how cold I was as a shiver went through me.
“Here.” Tristan said coming up behind me with another blanket. “You should really get out of those wet clothes.” He said with a smirk. I reluctantly took the blanket and gave him a glare.
“Don’t worry I wont look.” He said with a chuckle. He turned around and I began taking off my dress, making it even colder. I finally wrapped the blanket tighter and made my way to the fire and sat in front of it. Tristan was sitting next to me in an instant, and his smell was enough to keep my eyes focused on the fire before us. I knew that if I looked over at him then I’d lose all control.
“Elizabeth… I’m sorry.” He said simply.
“Sorry? It’s not your fault the road was really bad.” I assured him, although I had a feeling that was not what he was talking about.
“No…I’m sorry for the way I’ve been treating you. You….you’ve always meant a lot to me and I haven’t been a very good….friend.” He said the last part with a pain in his voice. I looked up at him confused. I was completely lost in his intense blue eyes, unable to say anything. I was quickly reminded that he had a mate though and I knew that I couldn’t give into whatever it was that I was feeling.
“You’re my best friend…I just want you to be happy.” I said getting up before he could hold me down with that penetrating gaze of his.
“And you?” He asked.
“What about me?” I asked keeping my back away from him.
“What would make you happy?” He was now behind me and I could feel his warm breath on my neck as he asked the question. His scent was all around me now. He took my arm and turned me around to face him. I closed my eyes unable to look up at him.
“Elizabeth…please just tell me what you’re feeling.” He said tilting my chin up and forcing me to look at him. I opened my eyes to find his eyes going dark.
“I can’t.” I answered breathless. He suddenly let me go and turned away from me breathing hard.
“I don’t know what’s happening to me...I can’t stay away from you.” He said clenching his fist, and just as quickly as he moved away from me, he was back in front of me. His arm wrapped around my body bringing me close to him while his other hand tangled itself in my hair. He paused for a moment taking in my face as I did the same. He then lowered his lips to mine softly and gently at first but the longer we were connected like this the more passionate the kiss became.
I couldn’t get enough of him and I needed him closer to me. Soon we had dropped the blankets and all that was between was our wet undergarments. He brought me down to the floor and he was on top of me caressing every part of me with such intensity I felt like my body was on fire wherever he touched me. He moved his way down to my neck as I gripped onto him not wanting him to move away from me. His mouth made its way to the marking spot that they used and I could feel his sharp teeth grazing over the spot making me gasp, and then his mouth was their sucking at the spot.
He then moved down my neck kissing the jagged scar on my neck as a growl took over him.
I squirmed under his touch wanting more, and he must have sensed it as he started to remove the last pieces of clothing I had on. His hands roughly grabbed onto my bare chest but I didn’t care. I needed him closer to me and dug my nails into his back trying to get him closer to me. His hand then found the spot that was yearning for his touch making me gasp.
“Elizabeth… I need you so bad.” He said his voice a hoarse whisper. I took his face in both of mine and brought his mouth to mine. “I need you…I need you too.” I said desperation in my voice as I told him between kisses. That was all he needed as he made his way inside me. Our bodies moved together in sync until we both had our release.
Neither of us able to move after that for a while. We were a tangled mess and I felt joy just laying there with him as I drifted into sleep.
