Chapter 17: Lost Mate

Marion
I was in the garden having some downtime with Nola and Lenora, Lenora was my mother-in-law and she was beginning to be a very close friend and advisor to the court. Nola gave us the news that she was with child again and we congratulated her, she was in love with Luc who became head of my protection detail. Willix was in town today doing a meeting at the town hall about a few changes that will be implemented and then he will be home soon as he wants to close bay when I do have our child. I smiled thinking about our baby's face but I still had a deep fear because I lost a child before. I have nightmares about someone taking my child and I beefed up security. I was brought out of my thoughts when Nola shook a hand in front of my face and asked, "Are you okay, Marion, you seem out of it?" I smiled saying, "I was just tired," and they decided to take me back inside, and as we walked down the corridor, a pain hit me and I felt water running down my legs.
Nola yelled, "Omg, the little one is ready," and she linked someone to come get us, Luc arrived picked me up, and placed me inside my quarters as the midwives started showing up with our primary healer. The pain was taking over and I cried wanting Willix with me, he came through the door yelling, "Marion, my love, I'm here," he kissed my lips and I screamed as another pain hit me. They asked him to leave when I yelled, "No, please stay, please," and he came back to hold my hand. I was scared but he calmed me down by chanting a calming spell so I would relax and focus on giving birth to our baby and within the hour, we had a bouncing baby boy. When our son cried out for the first time, everyone cheered, he was healthy and we were left alone to celebrate our little, Willix Jr., watching him breastfeed for the first time, was so fascinating to us and I saw my husband's happy tears. I felt his love for us and he kissed my lips thanking me for making him a proud father.

Present Time
I was in bed for the past few days as the celebration was going on throughout the Kingdom, Mendai sent me a magical message congratulating me and well wishes from the Elves. Queen Mina sent her congratulations as she planned to step down once her son Elijah turned eighteen. I wished she would stay in power a little longer but she has a lot to deal with as she has worn mourning colors for years since announcing the death of King Jorhir. I had a weird feeling all day but I knew Willix was with the nanny watching our son, he had not left the baby alone and it was so cute, I woke up to my son breastfeeding and Willix was holding him, not wanting me to wake up so I could rest. I love this man more than anything and I love my son, I walked down to the nursery to see Willex looking out the window with our son in his hands, I hugged him from behind and he turned to me, kissing me.
As the day passed and it was getting late, fireworks were going off and I could see the celebrations in the Valley, my people were happy. Willix and I ate together after I put my son down to sleep and we talked about how the final ceremony would go down introducing him to Volterra as the Crown Prince and future heir to the throne. I drifted off to sleep as the fireworks and the music died down, I was woken up to a bright light outside the door and Willix jumped up and we ran to the nursery. The guards were trying to break the door down and my heart beat fast, I couldn't do this again so I chanted a spell to unlock the door when Will kicked it open and saw the faceless demon with my crying baby in his arms. I screamed because it was the ghost from my nightmares, it was a vision and I never put it together, he opened a portal and I yelled, "Willix!"
He was fighting with me to penetrate the forcefield as I was using my powers to keep the portal from getting bigger for him to fit through. Willix was able to push through the forcefield and grab my son but the faceless demon hung on to his shoulder as the portal was closing, a white hair guy opened a portal from the other side of the room. Willix was fighting the faceless demon with our son in his arms and my energy was draining keeping the portal closed for Willix to save our son. I hadn't come into my full powers as yet because it would be shared with my mate whether I wanted it or not but I was determined to save my family, I was slowly releasing what power I had left because of the shared fear of losing my son. The white hair guy's forehead symbol glowed and it was a Seer, not any Seer, the King, released a bright light from his and hand tried to keep the demon in place, however, it was not enough as I got weak and the portal closed, taking my husband and son with him releasing one big bang blowing us all back.

Dragu
I was weak but I needed to get there quickly, I could feel it happening, and I knew it was happening so I did what I needed to do and opened a portal to where the energy was pulling me. I knew my secret would be out as I saw everyone stare at my glowing symbol feeling my energy, I saw the faceless demon who was in my vision grabbing the baby as the King fought to save his son, I put my hatred for the King aside and join in the battle to save the baby. I was running out of time as I could feel the doorway to nothingness pulling them in, Marion was losing her grip as her magic was not at full force, she needed to train. I used my last strength to help close the portal but it was too late as it sucked all three of them in, the lights exploded knocking us all back, and I saw black. I saw the demon in my weakened state, he was using the baby to keep his strength while having an unconscious Willix chained up and I opened my eyes to a cell.
I was given food and water, and I sat in the cell, I could easily break out of but I wanted to prove I was no threat to the Queen who I knew would be livid. The Kingdom would not take what happened easy and would be looking for a swift solution or scapegoat and I was in for a ride. A guard came to me and said, "You have a visitor," when I heard Geneva's voice, she was crying, and I told her to calm down. She looked at me and asked, "What did you do?" I said," I didn't do anything and I will be free, go home and wait for me," and she left. I spent a week in lock up until I saw Lady Lenora who came to me and said, "The Queen finally wants to meet you." I was led out of the dungeon as everyone looked at me in disgust but I was innocent of any crime they thought I did. I just hope she listens to reason or I will have to fight my way out of here and be a fugitive which makes it harder for my intended revenge.

Lady Lenora
I was not in any state to handle court matters as I lost my son and grandson almost a week ago, everyone was on edge as Nola ordered everyone to search in the Kingdom. Someone had it out for Marion and my son, I had a bad feeling about this, Elder Laurel was taken aback at what happened and since all the Seers were killed, we were shocked at the one in the cell, was he part of this? Marion had locked herself in her lab going mad trying to find my son and her son, a mother's pain of losing not one but two children was bound to take a toll on her. I don't think the Seer had anything to do with it as they are supposed to be peaceful and he looked like he wanted to help. Marion ordered his execution for being part of the plot but I don't think he was, so I went for him to take him to her and hopefully, she saw the truth. We all need her to help find Willis and their son and she needs to get it together, Mendai is here, he and Marion go way back, so he shows his support coming from the Elves.
I had the Seer who told me his name was, Dragu, follow me to the throne room, I had Nola get Marion here. Dragu looked around fascinated with the architecture of the Palace when I asked, "Is this your first time here in the Palace?" He looked at me and said, "I had no reason to come here until your son slaughtered my parents and people," I turned to him and said, "Willix would never, everyone knows Seers are not to be touched, they are a peaceful species," and he says, "And yet, we were wiped out." I turned around because he was right, this had my former mate written all over it, I pushed the door and Marion looked lost and crazy. She saw the Seer and yelled, "You killed them, I don't feel them anymore," and he grabbed her hands saying, "You are my mate," his eyes glowed and he held her calming her down and she passed out in his arms. Nola and I were shocked as he picked her up and said, "Take me to her room," and we had the urge to listen to him, he was definitely Marion's fated Mate.
