Miles p.o.v

I get ready for my ceremony and head to my office where my family is at. I arrive and Joy is also here. She doesn't even look at me. She looks angry. "Are you alright?" I ask her. "No I am not fùcking alright. I am stuck wearing this stùpid dress because the one I wanted from the ones the lady showed me, apparently some other she wolf got it before me. That stùpid bìtch" she growls. "It's just a dress" I tell her. "Oh you wouldn't understand" she waves me off. "So, something came up and we are only having the Alpha ceremony today" Mom interrupts us. "What!" Joy yells. "Yeah, after the Alpha ceremony we actually need to speak to you and your family about something really important" mom tells her. "Is everything okay?" Joy asks. "It will be" Mom smiles at her not to give anything away. "So then when will my Luna ceremony be? My parents are coming here thinking I am going to be the Luna" Joy says. "We will speak to them. Don't worry about it" she tells her. I love my mom, she is the best. My sister walks in. "Thank you mom for this beautiful dress." she says and comes and hugs me. She sits on my desk and picks up the picture I have sitting there. She looks at it, then looks at me and smirks. She puts it down, but she doesn't say anything. "Shall we go?" Dad says and grabs my mother and sister's hands and walks toward the back of the pack where the ceremony will be held. There's a stage they put up and tables everywhere. People have started arriving. The best thing is that there is an open bar. Mom invited everyone in the werewolf kingdom it seems. "Joy, come, lets go get a drink" I tell her. I am celebrating that I will be free from our bond and don't have to feel her having sèx with others all the time. My wolf whimpers. "Sorry bud, I know you want your mate" I tell him. It's okay, it hurts, but she isn't worth it. I do not like the way she treats you and you are my priority. He tells me. "I will just take a water" she says. I know exactly why, but she doesn't know that I know. Her scent changed and we can smell the pup in her belly, but my wolf and I both know it isn't ours. I think that's what makes Lex even more sad. I on the other hand don't even care. I think back to mine and Melly's pup. Our pup that we didn't get the chance to meet. I remember when I found out she had lost it, I went nuts. I kept fighting everyone at Alpha Academy. During trainings I would just fight. I was in such a bad space then. She wouldn't reply to my messages or answer any of my calls. I just wanted to make sure she was alright, but I never heard from her. The day I found out she had lost our pup, Logan showed up to the Alpha Academy to drop Wolf off as the future Alpha of his pack and that's when I knew something was wrong. Melly is the future Alpha. She was suppossed to be there and we were going to train together. I later found out that she joined the werewolf military and was working with the king instead. It crushed me. I have always worried for her. That's all I know about her. Being mated to Joy made me realize that the connection Melly and I had was a real one. We didn't need a mate bond to connect and love eachother. It just came naturally. What we had was deeper than anything else. Too bad that I lost it all. My wolf whines again. I am sure he would have loved Melly. "I will just have a water" Joy tells me. "What. Why? We need to celebrate me becoming the Alpha" I tell her. "I don't want to get drunk so early" she giggles nervously. I order our drinks and when they hand them to me I lift my glass up. "To new beginnings" I tell her and clink her glass and take my drink down in one gulp. "1 more" I tell the bartender who quickly refills my glass. I walk over to my parents table. I see Joy's parents are sitting there as well, along with Logan and Dominique. There's 2 empty chairs. I walk over there to talk to Logan. I know he isn't my biggest fan anymore, but I will always have love for him.

I am standing here talking to them when I spot the most beautiful woman walk in. Melly? Of course it is Amelia."Surprise" mom links me. Of course this is mom's surprise. I can't believe she invited her and that she actually came. Knowing mom, she wants my day to be perfect. Amelia looks so different, yet still the same. She looks more beautiful now though. The dress she is wearing looks amazing on her. She has curves in all of the right places. Makes me miss her body pressed against mine. Fùck I shake my head to clear these thoughts. I notice Lex take a peak. He doesn't comment though. She turns around and our eyes meet and something inside of me just settles. It's like if her presence alone just makes everything right. She smiles and starts walking over towards us. I can't take my eyes off her. She looks like a goddess with her perfect dress. It's like if she is pulling me in. Go to her, go say hi My wolf pushes me. I am confused he wants his mate, but wants me to go to Melly. I don't even have time to care, I walk over to her. "Hey Stranger" I say and pull her in for a hug. I can't have her standing so close and not touch her. She smells so good and she is just as soft as I remember. "Hey, long time no see" she says. "How have you been?" I ask her. "I have been great, how about you?" she asks me. I shrug." I'm fine" I say. She suddenly looks shy. She looks around and tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear. I can tell she is nervous and when she looks up at me again she is blushing. My pinky. I always made fun of her and gave her that nickname because she was always blushing. Someone clears their throat and it breaks us out of whatever it is that captivated us. "These are our children, Our son Wolf and our daughter Amelia" Logan introduces them to Joy's parents and Melly steps to the side to greet them like the polite, well mannered woman that she is. She shakes Joy's parents hands and when she reaches for Joy, I cringe. Joy just glares at her and doesn't take her hand. I can't believe it. "So, how do you know Miles?" Joy's father asks Melly.

Joy's p.o.v

I watch Miles walk over to some female who is wearing the dress that I wanted. He hugs her and I notice dad side eyeing me and watching this go down infront of us. "Joy" I hear his voice in my head and I am annoyed. Dad keeps forcing me to hurry and get marked. "He is not marked Joy, get up and go claim your mate and territory. This woman is moving in on what is ours. You are carrying his pup, don't let him embarrass you." he mind-links me. "Dad, it's just a hug" I mind-link him back hoping he doesn't push the pup talk infront of Miles. My parents knew I was pregnant as soon as they saw me. They are thrilled, but they think Miles is the father. I spot River and I need to speak to him. I watch him with his arm around a woman and I see red. This is why he isn't responding to me. This girl gets introduced and her name is Amelia and I realize that she is the girl in the picture on his desk. She is probably related to him. I just glare at her. I am not going to shake the hand of the woman to took the dress I wanted. "I think they are related" I mind-link dad back. "So, how do you know Miles?" dad asks her. "We are childhood friends. We grew up together" She tells dad, but I do not miss the way Miles looks at her and the way everyone else on the table looks at eachother. "You are very pretty and your dress is just so beautiful." mom tells her and I roll my eyes. She would compliment this bìtch. "Thank you, actually Lexi here gifted me this dress." She tells my mom and my eyes cut over to her. She gave me this ugly aśś dress and she gave her the best dress. "Thank you Lexi. I love the dress" Amelia tells Lexi and I am trying to stay calm. I can't believe that his mother would do this. I am going to have to speak to Miles about this. If I have to stay with him then I need to come first and this she wolf will get banned from here. I wish I could kick her out now. Maybe I should make a scene. Thought start forming in my head. But before I can form anything plan, dad opens his big mouth. "Miles, come why don't you take my daughter, your mate to meet your friends or to dance." He says. "I just have to go to the restroom" I say and quickly walk away before dad tries to push me on Miles. I had to think fast and save myself. Why do I feel jealous of that she wolf? Is it only because of the dress? She doesn't seem interested in Miles. I push it all away. Who cares. Even if she is. She can have him. I have my eyes set on someone else and that is who I go searching for.
