03 - Fragrant Roses

1192 Words
There was the scent of the sea wafting into Cassie's sense of smell, the scent getting stronger as time went on as the footsteps approached her. 'Why is this scent so familiar?' Cassie thought. She remembered smelling the same fragrance but couldn't remember where she had found it. Not long after, the owner of the steps finally arrived in front of Cassie. They immediately met face to face as soon as he entered the kitchen door. Cassie was stunned for a moment. How could she not be? The man had a very handsome face. His jaw was very firm, and his nose bone was very long. The man's eyes also looked very sharp, like an eagle. Every carving on his face was perfection. Don't forget that the guy had very broad shoulders and a very muscular body. Anyone who saw could already guess that he was an Alpha. A sinister aura radiated very strongly from the man. But one thing is certain, the man looks familiar to Cassie, and the smell of his pheromones is very familiar to her nose. Cassie is sure they must have met. "What are you doing here?" The sound jolted Cassie out of her reverie, the knife she had only been holding tightly, Cassie reflexively immediately aimed at the man. She didn't know him, so Cassie had to be alert when she was around him. "Do not come close!" Cassie said in a trembling voice. Her hands were also shaking as she held the knife. The man stopped. Now, they were only three steps away. Cassie wanted to get away, but unfortunately, she was trapped and couldn't run anywhere anymore. "It turns out you're still the same as you were then," the man said again, looking at Cassie from head to toe with a very intense gaze. Cassie got goosebumps when she saw the crooked smile on the man's face. He was handsome but looked very scary. "What do you mean?! I don't even know you!” Cassie replied in a halting voice. The man seemed familiar to her, but Cassie didn't think admitting this was an excellent choice. "Hm, you don't know me?" asked the man in a disappointed tone, he took a step forward, which made Cassie point her knife even more. "I said don't come any closer!" The girl is now screaming, she doesn't care anymore, even if someone else hears her. In one stroke of his hand, suddenly, the knife that Cassie had been holding flew through the air and then fell to the floor a little far from her. The man had just hit her hand so hard that the knife fell off. Cassie's eyes widened in disbelief when she saw this. “Look at your scared face, it's the same as that night. You just have to beg with tears, like today is your last day to live," the man muttered as he took two steps forward until now the distance between him and Cassie was getting thinner. The man brought his face closer to Cassie's neck, inhaling deeply in the area. "This smell... the smell of roses I smelled three months ago is still the same." The hair on Cassie's neck bristled as soon as the tip of the man's nose touched her neck. Cassie's hands were too shaking to push the man away from her, and even her legs had gone limp from this little treatment. "Enough," said Cassie, which sounded more like a small squeak. Even her voice couldn't come out the way she wanted. The man finally turned his face away, but his hands quickly held Cassie's waist because the girl wanted to fall. The touch of the man's hand on Cassie's waist, even though it was separated from the fabric that was her current clothing, still made Cassie's body immediately stiffen. Cassie's hand reflexively flew up to slap the man's cheek. Her slap was loud enough to leave a loud sound in the house. As an Omega, Cassie always tries to protect herself, no Alpha or Beta can touch her, therefore the slap was a form of resistance for self-defense which she has always guarded against. Another man suddenly came in and heard the sound of the slap. "Prince Cedric—" The man's sentence stopped because the figure in front of Cassie raised his hand. Cassie saw that the new man immediately came out again and didn't interrupt them this time. Cassie shifted her attention to the man in front of her. 'He's a Prince?' Cassie thought as she listened to the call just now. Cedric laughed, but not the pleasant kind. The man sounded more annoyed. "This is the first time anyone has dared to slap me besides Father," he said with a chuckle of disbelief. Cedric immediately grabbed Cassie's arm and pulled the girl out of the house. His pull was so tight that it made Cassie wince in pain. "Let me go! I don't want to come with you, let go quickly!” Cassie screamed and struggled, but Cedric deafened her, so he pretended not to hear the girl. "Let me go!" Cassie shouted again. Cedric took Cassie towards a group of other residents in the field, but he didn't let go of her grip. Cassie looked at everyone and still couldn't find her mother, but Uncle Roggy was looking at her worriedly. "Prince Cedric, we've checked everything, but she's not here," one of the men dressed in black reported to Cedric. “Has everything been searched? I found this girl in the house over there, so go around one more time to make sure no one is hiding," Cedric ordered firmly. The man immediately nodded obediently. "Okay, we will try to look for that woman again, Prince." As soon as they heard the order, everyone scattered again. Cassie winced, her hand felt sore because Cedric held her arm tightly. The man glanced slightly, then released his grip. "Stay here, don't try to escape or I will kill you immediately." Cassie quickly nodded obediently because the man didn't sound like he was playing around, Cassie couldn't die now. "What do you want to do to that girl?" David—one of Cedric's personal bodyguards, whispered in the man's ear. They had grown up together since childhood, so even though Cedric had a higher status than him, David still dared to talk casually with Cedric. "That's none of your business," answered Cedric indifferently. “Remember, you can't take her with you. We came here to carry out an assignment, so don't make the King angry again this time because of your own actions," David reminded him, as someone very close to Cedric, he just didn't want the man to be scolded again by his father. But Cedric instead chuckled and looked at David sarcastically. “Don't you have a job so you can take care of my problems? Everyone works, but you just laze around.” David chuckled and then went to do the same as the others. Cedric remained where he was, occasionally glancing at Cassie with small glances. 'David is right, I can't just take her even though I want her.'
