Chapter 5

That's when I knew that he only reject me because of the rumor.

"You want to chase so I'm letting you chase me... only me Katherine."

-Flashback ends-

I shook my head a bit because I'm spacing out.

"O-Okay. When should we schedule it?"

"Schedule? This is not Manila Kath." Kinilabutan ako ng sinabi niya ang pangalan ko.

It's been a long time since I heard my name from his voice. Sinubuan ko ulit si Brion at pinainom.

"We'll meet them later. I'm going to ask yaya Selya to take care of Brion."

Hindi na ako sumagot dahil once he's decided he'll never change his decision. Wala din naman akong magagawa dahil magtatampo iyon sila Denise sa akin pag tinanggihan ko sila.

Sun goes down and I'm currently trying to make Brion sleep. Louis is beside me making sure I'm doing things right.

"What time did they wanted to meet us?"

"8 o'clock at Denise's house." He said.

I looked at Brion's peaceful and handsome face. Why does he look a lot like his father? I pouted. I'm the one who gave birth to him, but he only got little features from me. I think he only got my eyes.

Nung nakatulog na siya ng mahimbing ay lumabas kami ng kwarto.

"I-I'm just gonna dress up." I said.

"Take your time... I'll be waiting downstairs."

"Is there any specific... uhm... theme?" Kasi baka ma-underdressed ako or over dressed.

"No. This is a reunion with friends, Kath. Not a party."

Fine. Why does he sound a bit mad? I pouted. I went inside my room at nag bihis ako ng isang comfortable spaghetti strap red dress na hanggang tuhod.

My clothes are kind of fancy, I could say. Ito na rin kasi ang nakasanayan ko. I don't have casual dresses or even pants. I only wear dress and skirts. Nag suot ako ng 3-inch heels dahil yun lang ang pinakamababa kong heels na dala.

I've brought some sneakers but I don't think it would look good with my dress. Suot ko ang necklace na bigay ni Gio. I placed my hair in the back of my ears and stared at myself in the mirror.

Do I deserve you... Gio? I released a deep breathe. Bumaba ako at bumungad sa akin si Louis na naka black shirt under his coat and dark maong pants. He looks... expensive. Huminga ako ng malalim.

"Let's go." I said.

He looked at me. Bumaba ang tingin niya sa leeg ko. I hold my necklace and awkwardly went outside first.

"You should've brought a jacket or something to cover up." He said.

I forgot about that. I don't usually bring jackets because I can tolerate the cold. Besides many guys offered me their coats when partying.

"Nag all you can, but I can handle it." Irap ko.

Umirap ako sa kawalan at nilakasan ang volume ng kanta. My phone is connected to the aux cord which enable me to play the songs I want.

"Oh my God! They're here!" Dinig ko habang papasok kami sa mansion nila Denise.

"Katherine! Long time no see!" Niyakap ako ni Denise, Jess at Rei.

Two boys are standing at their back smiling at me. Nakipag kamayan sila kay Louis.

"Joshua! Vector!" Niyakap ko sila.

I felt my body being pulled away from them. Nakarinig ako ng mga tawa at nilingon ko si Louis na nakahawak ngayon sa bewang ko. What is wrong with him? Inirapan ko siya at pumasok na kami sa loob.

They really change the theme of this house every year and it never fails me to be amazed by it.

"You didn't contact us for almost a year!"

"I'm sorry something happened and I needed to delete my accounts and change my number." I lied.

Louis looked at me like he doesn't believe what I'm saying. Of course he knows that I'm lying. It's kinda weird to lie in front of someone who knows the truth, but it is what it is.

Louis understands my situation and we already talked about this countless times already.

We have a big camp fire in front of us. Nakaupo kami sa malalambot na upuan. Joshua and Jess are cooking something in the grill.

"Of course this won't be a party without drinks!" I chuckled a bit and clapped my hands.

This is our usual bonding. Drinking and sharing each others new updates in their lives.

"Bakit ba kailangan mo pa pumunta ng Maynila? Nandito naman si Louis at si Brion."

"Uhm... let's say I need to take care of my mom's company. Bumibista naman ako dito every year." I smiled and drink the shot that they gave me. Inubos ko 'yon ng isahan at ngumiti sa kanila.

"The same Katherine as usual." Tawa nila.

"Hey!" Suway ko.

Nagtawanan kami. Everything seems right when I'm with them. They don't fail to make me smile and make my day better. Of course the same as when I'm with Brion. Brion is my life.

We drank more and I noticed Louis isn't drinking that much. I guess we won't be spending a night here. He drinks a lot before and we'll end up sleeping here in Denise's, but don't get me wrong.

Nothing happens between us. He knows his limits. We sleep in the same room, but he keeps his distance as far as possible from me. I think I'm getting a bit drunk.

"We shall go..." Louis whispered to avoid it from everyone to hear.

"Huh? Aga pa eh. Party's not even starting yet." Ngiti ko.

I danced with the beat. Sumama sila Jess sa'kin sa pagsayaw. I smiled and grabbed a drink from the table. Hmm! Feels good! I grabbed my phone from my pocket when I felt it vibrated.

Louis: Let's go home.

Tumingin ako kung saan siya nakaupo kanina at nakatingin na siya sa akin. Ayoko pa umuwiii. Besides Brion's probably still sleeping.

"What's wrong?" Jess asked.

"Nothing! Let's get the party staaarteeeeed!" Tumawa kaming lahat maski sila Vector ay natawa sa gilid.

"I'm sorry. I'll take her home." Dinig kong sabi ni Louis.

I'm so down. Nakahiga ako sa sofa ngayon at nakapikit. Inupo niya ako at sinuot ang coat niya sa'kin.
