Chapter 9

Pinanood ko siyang ayusin yung niluto ko and he even put some on his small plate.

"Tastes good... as usual." He said. I calmed myself up and left him there. I'll go get Brion

"Hi sweet pea..." I smiled.

"I’m hungry…"

"We'll eat dinner. Let's fix your toys okay?" Tumango ito at tumulong ilagay yung mga laruan niya sa lalagyan.

I smiled as I watch him. Of course he needs to learn how to clean up his mess. We should do this as early as possible.

"Goodboy! Now we're gonna eat your favorite baked macaroni!" I smiled

"Yey!"

Binuhat ko siya at bumaba kami. Everyone's on the table kami nalang ang inaantay. Louis leads the prayer before our meal.

Lola is a really religious person, so Louis and I also adapted it. Week has passed and everything's normal. Hindi na ulit kami nagkausap ng maayos ni Louis.

Maybe sometimes pero we only talk about Brion. I call Gio everyday to update him. He's now in Australia fixing something that I don't know. Lately, Brion has been a sleepyhead. Naiintindihan ko din naman dahil sa sobrang hyper niya pag gising siya. He's always like that whenever I'm here.

"Hey. Can we talk?" Nilingon ko si Louis.

"Yeah. sure."

"Lola's planning a family vacation. You remember our villa on Palawan? That's where we're staying."

"Sounds great." I lied.

Ayoko man bumalik doon, pero I don't have to be choosy. God... the memories. He smiled. What's with that smile? As if I can say no to lola's words. She's adorable and you can't resist her.

"We're leaving tomorrow." He said.

Tomorrow?! Ang bilis naman? Oh, I remember, lola plans everything in a single day. Kung gusto niya nga ngayon, kinabukasan ay gagawin niya depende a mood or schedule.

She doesn't like wasting time 'cause she told us she's getting old already.

"Hey. Wake up." I slowly opened my eyes and saw Louis

"W-What time is it?"

"10 o'clock."

"Oh my God? Bakit hindi mo ko ginising?”

Agad akong tumayo. Naayos ko na ang gamit ko pero ang kay Brion... hindi pa.

"I packed his things already,"

That's supposed to be my job, as a mom. Tumango ako at umupo saglit, I feel so bad.

"Are you okay?"

"I overslept. I should woke up early, sana ako ang nag ayos ng gamit ni Brion." I said.

"Ah! Nevermind." Tumayo ako at naglakad papasok ng cr but he grabbed my wrist and faced me.

"Sorry... I should've wake you." Uminit ang pisngi ko, yumuko ako para iwasan ang tingin niya.

I don't want this feeling... it's dangerous.

"But it's also my job to do that. I'm a parent too."

"I-It's okay." I said just to and the conversation.

"You don't have to feel bad, besides hindi naman napabayaan si Brion. That would never happen." He said.

His words calmed me, I know. Brion's much safer with Louis than me.

"Thank you, I'll just take a bath." I said and went to the bathroom. Pag sara ko sumandal ako sa pinto at napahawak sa dibdib ko. It's beating so fast.

Natapos ko lahat ng mga dapat gawin bago umalis. I didn't have to style my hair since I have a normal wave hair.

I'm wearing a floral long dress revealing a bit of my cleavage and has a slit on the left side of my legs. It will fit in because we're going on a beach, I bought jacket in case malamig or gusto kong maglakad lakad tuwing gabi.

"Saan sila?" I asked.

"Nauna na." Louis said. I thought we'll be on a van? Family vacation diba?

"Pati si Brion?"I asked.

"Yes. He wants to be with mom."

So... this means... we'll travel together? This is so bad. Akala ko family vacation and we'll be all together in the same trip. Don't tell me we're not in the same plane?

"Saan sila mag aantay?"

"Sa villa na."

Argh! Bakit? Bakit siya lang kasama ko? Umirap ako at tumingin nalang sa bintana. I stiffened when the song 'you're still the one' played in the radio. s**t. That was our theme song, kinanta ko sa kanya yan noon dahil patay na patay ako sa kanya.

Ew. Tinignan ko siya ng masama nung nilakasan niya yung radio.

"The hell?" I said in an angry tone.

"What?" He chuckled. Bwisit! Nakarating kami sa airport ng Pan Olarte, He carried all the things since konti lang naman 'yon. I wore my shades because the sunlight bothers my eyes.

"Private plane?" I asked.

"Nah. They used the private plane. Business Class tayo."

Walang tayo! Pinauna ko siya maglakad dahil hindi ko alam kung saan kami una pupunta. Finally we're on the plane.

Saglit lang naman ang byahe. Mga a hour and a half, I guess. But I'm not comfortable sitting with him beside me. Awkward kaya.

"We're here," he said.

Bigla kong minulat ang mata ko. Na-overslept na nga ko nakatulog pa ko dito? Tinignan ko ang jacket na nakapatong sa'kin. This is his jacket nung nasa airport kami.

Kinuha ko 'yon at dinala dahil parang wala siyang balak kuhain, Nauna siyang bumaba at sumunod ako sa likod niya. Pag baba namin sinalubong kami ng isang nakafloral na polo.

I think he's the one to pick us up. Ngayon ko lang napansin ang suot ni Louis he's wearing a white polo and blue shorts paired with a topsider shoes, Nakashades pa talaga siya.

Pormang porma ah, hahanap nanaman ng babae 'to. I rolled my eyes when our eyes met.

"Welcome back sir," Ngiti ng isang matandang babae.

Nilipat niya ang tingin niya sa'kin. Gulat ang mukha niya kaya nginitian ko siya.

"Katherine!" Lumapit kaagad siya at niyakap ako. I hugged her back. It's been 5 years, I think, hindi ko na maalala basta magkakilala kami.

Siya ang caretaker dito, may kasama din siya na mga caretaker pero siya yung nag mamanage to make sure everything's fine. Tinignan ko ang buong bahay... this reminds me so much of memories.

This is where... Brion was formed in my belly.
