Chapter 8

Oh right! I will be needing tampons since my period's near. Maghahanap na sana ako pero humarang si Louis sa harapan ng cart. Tinignan ko siya ng nagtataka.

"What are you doing?"

"You left me." He said in a double meaning... I guess.

He made me do it though. Umirap ako at iniwas ang cart sa kanya. Luckily hindi na ako naghanap at nakita ko na ang sanitary section.

"Daddy!" Tawag ni Brion kay Louis at inangat ang dalawang kamay.

Louis walk towards us and carried him. Brion likes being carried pero minsan na bibigatan na ako sa kanya. He's growing.

Finally, I managed to get everything on the list. Sobra pa nga eh. The cashier girl looks familiar to me... Tinitignan niya ng pasimple si Louis pero busy ito makipaglaro kay Brion.

Tinignan ko siya at tinaasan ng isang kilay. I finally caught her attention kaya iniwas niya agad iyon. Oh, I remember. She's Louis's ex girlfriend. Not fling... girlfriend. Whatever.

"Can you make it fast?" I said.

Naiinip na ako dahil ang bagal niyang kumilos. Tumingin si Louis sa banda ko at tinignan kung anong sitwasyon.

He doesn't seem to remember the girl?

"Daisy?"

There you go. Tinignan siya ng babae at ngumiti ito. Of course he won't forget his girlfriends. Only his ex flings.

"Louis," Pabebeng sagot nung babae at ngumiti.

I scoffed. Iniwas ko ang tingin ko sakanya at tinignan si Louis

"Just gonna buy my meds." I said.

Umalis ako doon at humanap ng drug store. I have a weak heart and I need to take medication regularly in case na mag palpitate ako.

“You done?" Nilingon ko si Louis na ngayon ay nasa likuran ko na at si Brion ay nakaupo sa baby seat playing with his new stuff toy.

"Yup. Let's go."

He's fully aware about my condition. It happened years ago. Dun nagseryoso sila mama na agapan 'yon. Did mom met him? Yes, of course. Legal kami dati.

"I'll get the car."

Nakatulog si Brion sa pag buhat ko sa kanya. Ngumiti ako at hinalikan siya sa noo. Hindi nagtagal huminto na ang sasakyan sa harapan ko and he carried all the grocery at nilagay sa trunk.

I put Brion comfortably at the back. He's now on the baby sit. Tahimik kami at hindi nag uusap. Wala naman kasi dapat pagusapan eh.

I opened my phone to check who messaged or called me. I have four miss calls from Gio. He probably called me everytime he has a time.

Ako: Hey. Sorry I turned off my phone. Are you there?

I texted.

We can at least call. For sure he'll be home by now, it depends if he has things to do that needs him to be on overtime.

Tumunog ang phone ko. I answered it immediately to avoid waking up Brion. It's Gio.

Ngumiti ako at tinignan muna si Louis, sinenyasan ko siya na si Gio iyong kausap ko. Hininaan ko yung stereo.

"Gio?"

"Hey... I miss your voice." Yumuko ako at ngumiti.

I miss all things about him too.

"Me too..." I said to avoid Louis to understand what we're talking about.

"Are you home?" I asked.

"Yup. Just got home. How about you? How's your day honey?" I sighed as many things happened today but I can't tell him any of it.

"I'm doing great! It's fun to enjoy life without work." He chuckled a bit.

I can imagine him smiling while his phone is on his ear. such a cutie.

"I'd like that too... maybe next time we'll go on a trip together."

We've been on a trip together. Every year 'yon. Kung hindi leave and vacation ay business travel naman. He has many offers in other countries hindi niya lang matanggap ang iba because he already had enough and he'll work so much if he accept everyone.

"Sure. Basta ikaw ang mag plano." I silently laughed and he chuckled too.

I can understand him. Ako din naman. I sometimes reject partnerships or collab to any brands. I focus on what my client wants and target those famous people.

Madaming offer pero di ko tinatanggap lahat 'cause it will exhaust me.

"Uhm... I think you need to rest. I'll call tomorrow okay?" I said to him.

He sound so tired and almost knocked out. I know him when he's really tired.

"Okay... Goodnight... I love you." Tinignan ko si Louis.

"Same here." I smiled and ended the call.

Tahimik kaming dalawa ni Louis hanggang sa nakarating sa bahay. The sun is almost down and I need to cook what Brion wants.

Tumulong ang mga katulong sa pag dala ng mga grocery.

"Ate pwede paabot po ng mga ingridients for baked macaron?"

Tumango ang maid at ginawa ang sinabi ko. Aayusin pa kasi nila iyon and I need to start cooking to make it before the dinner time starts. Nag luto din si Yaya Selya ng mga ibang putahe.

"Gusto niyo po ako na magluto?"

"Ako na Ate Selya." Ngiti ko.

Nginitian niya ako papabalik at tumango. She stocked the cabinets and pantry's with the groceries I bought. -- Finally ilalagay ko nalang sa oven.

I sat on the high chair at the bar area. Hinawi ko ang buhok ko at nilagay lahat sa kabilang side. Nakakapagod. Napatingin ako sa gilid ko and Louis's standing beside me... watching me.

"Where's Brion?" I asked.

"Playing inside his room. Kasama si Inday." He said.

Brion has so much energy. Ang bilis niyang magising. For sure he'll be knocked out at sleeping time. Tumango ako kay Louis. I put my hair up and tied it in a pony tail. Sobrang init talaga pag nagluluto ka. He sat beside me and grabbed something.

Hey! You haven't eat anything yet and you're drinking that?" I said and slapped his hands.

He's reaching for a bourbon bottle. Such a stupid guy.

"I want to drink... baby."

That moment... I was stuck... I can't move or even breathe properly. He used to call me that and every time I hear it... it just gives me butterflies in my stomach, Up 'til now... this is wrong... this is insanely wrong.

The oven beeped and that's my sign that I should get up and turn it off, but I just can't move away from my place.

Tumayo si Louis. Sinundan ko siya ng tingin... he turned off the oven and brought the one I cooked out.
