Chapter 9

“@Randomthoughts: "Me and my bed are perfect for each other, but my alarm clock keeps trying to break us up."  >>>>>>>  Ruby`s POV I got off at the same time as the trolls I was riding with. This was so that the Dragon I had been riding,  would never have to know. That he had just been carrying an extra invisible passenger. Once I was on the ground, I could not help but lean down to touch the shiny black colored sand which was everywhere.  Then I stood up to admire the city. It looked magical, while the whole sky was filled with Dragons of all kinds flying everywhere, on the ground, there were many in their second forms.  This was really not what I had expected. They all really looked like humans in their second forms and even behaved the same.  The place also did not look to be filled with savagery. I had expected to find flames of fire everywhere with Dragons fighting. But instead, they were all acting like normal beings with even a flair of sophistication. The city seemed to have the same setup as the Elven Kingdom but instead of ice, the houses, walls, and columns all seemed to be made out of dark limestone and marble. And the Elf Queen had been right about the clothing as there was really too much skin revealing everywhere. Compared to the clothes the other females wore, I was actually looking like a nun.  But I could not blame them as this place`s air temperature was just too hot. Causing the need for far less clothing, unlike the elven Kingdom which was cold.  Still, they were all beautiful. I felt as if I was an ugly duckling who had stumbled on an island filled with godly looking people. And their different unique colored eyes and hair. For example, the green dragon I had been riding. After he shifted to his human form he seemed to have green hair. Just the same color as his dragon form. While for others it was the eyes that matched the color of their Dragon. Another thing bamboozling my mind was how this city was able to float so steadily in the sky? Done with observing, I decided that I had to get a move on. So that I could do what I had come here to do and quickly leave. But as I walked through the blackish sand, I realized that I was leaving footprints. Luckily the large footprints of the many Trolls arriving seemed to clear them for me.  I looked to see the Trolls being led to training barracks. Where war weapons like the ones I had seen Tor carrying, were stacked. I ended up blurring, using my vampire speed so that I could reach where the paved road was. it was safer to walk there and not leave footprints.  As I walked past the Dragonians who were mingling at the different market places,  I wondered where to start.  But according to the Elf Queen Elda, she had told me that I had to go to the Dragonian castle. That was where all war meetings were held. As I tried to figure out which way to there, I paused as I spotted a familiar Dragon. Of course, I would remember him for it was that insufferable Red Dragon that had tried to kill me! His arrival seemed to catch everyone`s attention. “Oh, my word Prince Kai is here,” I looked at my side to see some dragon females acting like fan girls and telling each other excitedly. They even swooned more as he shifted to his human form. While I scowled instead.  He was dressed in war armor. But unlike the Elves armor which was white with gold designs. Prince Kai`s and that of the other dragon soldiers behind him, was colored black with red designs.  The Dragon Prince looked just as I had pictured the Red Dragon would look like in his human form. Especially that mean look in those dark red eyes which did not belong on that handsome face.   He looked like he had never smiled in his life since birth too. I was instead glaring at him. Part of me still wanted to yell at him a bit more for last time. He also had a long scar running through one of his eyes. It gave him a badass look while suggesting that he must have fought in a lot of wars. “General Kai,” One of the Dragon males who was leading the trolls quickly said while rushing to greet the Prince. “I need the trolls trained as quickly as possible. We need as many of them as possible for the next war.” He instead said straight to the point and giving his order, an emotionless look on his face. “It will be done as you have commanded,” The Dragon soldier replied with a salute of submission. Wanting to settle some scores, I picked up a black marble stone from the ground. I then moved away from the crowd and threw it aiming for my target.  It did so, hitting that Prince hard, right on the forehead! And the best thing was how he had not been expecting it. “Who DID THAT!” He quickly screamed in rage while turning around to try and find the culprit. I instead stood there still invisible with a smirk. I then picked up another rock and blurred to another side. But this time he seemed to be expecting it, for he caught the limestone. This was right before it could smack him on the back of the head. “Once I find whoever is doing this, I will CRUSH YOU just like this STONE,” he instead snarled while crushing the black limestone to dust with just his bare fist. “Talk about anger management issues,” I could not help but think with an amused smirk.  But still, it had all been worth it, as that nasty Prince was now sporting a little red bump on his forehead. Results from my first successful throw. I had after all made sure to use my vampire strength and get that home run.  Man being invisible was fun when it came to dealing with jerks, I felt very proud of myself.  But I looked to see someone new arrive, a messenger who quickly caught the attention of the angry enraged Prince. “My prince, your presence has been requested by King Aerox and immediate.” The messenger spoke while kneeling on one leg and handing over a little scroll-like note with a royal seal. “Now what does that brother of mine want now,” Prince Kai instead angrily growled while clenching his fists in reply and throwing the note to the ground. He looked like he really wanted to punch someone. His red eyes seemed to now be darker than mine from annoyance. He really did have a nasty temper. “All OF YOU, stay here and HELP THEM. I am headed for the castle.” He first snarled as an order to the other Dragon soldiers he had arrived with. They all nodded their heads submissively. Then he turned around angrily and abruptly shifted into his giant Red dragon form. I quickly realized that I had to follow that highly tempered prince as he would lead me to the castle. So I used my vampire speed, to blur and follow him as he flew that way. I was sure that I was leaving behind some confused Dragonians whom I passed by. As after all, they were being hit by the unexpected wind from me rushing by in my invisible form. I arrived and stopped running the same time that Prince Kai also landed by this huge black gate in his Dragon form. He first shifted into his human form with that funny mean angry look still on his face. I quickly followed behind him as he entered after the gate opened. Leaving behind the two scary dragon guards with serious faces who were guarding on each side, in their Dragon forms. Just like the Elf Queen`s castle this one was just as beautiful and grant in both structure and appearance. If I ever got back to earth, I planned on making my brother Jake rebuild for our Vampire castle paled in comparison to this.    I focused back on the mission. I had already succeeded in step one which was getting into the Dragon Castle. I was surprised at how good this was going. I had not even been caught yet.  Next was listening in on any war plans or discussions. So it's why I continued following Prince Kai even though I really did not want to face the Dragon King this early. I wondered how he would be. If he was really worse than Kai as I had been told. But then why was it that I could feel my heart rate increase as I thought of just his name. After overhearing the messenger who had come for Kai, All I knew right now, was that the Dragon King`s name was...Aerox.
