Kirk’s P.O.V
I was only supposed to be away for a month, but it had now been almost two and although I kept in contact with Casey through the mind-link she was always too busy to talk. It made me wonder what was going on with her? It was time for my shift to end and I started running back to my pack in wolf form. My wolf Enzo had been whimpering for the last two days, wanting to see his mate and so have I. I got to the edge of the territory and shifted into my human form, grabbing my clothes from behind a tree. I stepped forward and noticed that there were a bunch of people by the training ground, so I trotted over to see what was going on. When I got there I noticed that Casey was sparring with another she-wolf and I think her name was Lisa, but I really wasn’t sure. At first I thought that Lisa was teaching Casey some moves, but when I looked closer I saw that it was the other way around and it was Casey that was teaching Lisa. Devon saw me and walked over to me, coming to stand next to me as we both watched the battle going on. Casey was trying to teach Lisa how to control her wolf, telling her to focus and be strong. She showed her how to throw a right and left punch then do a swing kick, flipping and kicking her in the head. Lisa went down hard, but she recovered fast and got back up.
“Welcome back, man, your girl sure knows how to fight, she's been training hard, she's the first one out here in the morning for warm ups. She’s that damn good that I made her captain of the warriors. I was impressed with her the first month, she learns fast.” Devon said, shaking my hand. I was very surprised and I kept watching Casey. I was really shocked with how she became so strong, so fast. Her legs and arms were a little more muscular than the last time I saw her and her teaching skills were up to date. She was doing amazing and when training was over and done with she walked over to me smiling.
“I wanted to surprise you before you got back, but then you were gone for an extra month. All the times I linked you saying that I didn’t have time right now and that I would link you back later were because I was training. Well, you can see what I’ve been doing now. I’m the captain and head of the warriors. I worked my ass off and I’m finally doing something that I love doing.” Casey said and I nodded. I completely understood where she was coming from because I was the same. I loved what I did as well and loved going out for months at a time, tracking down and killing rogues, ripping their throats out.
“I understand completely, I know exactly how you feel because I feel that way too. I love going out and hunting down rogues, that's why I stay out for so long. We make a great team. I’m so proud of you for becoming the captain and head of the warriors.” I replied, smiling. I couldn’t miss the smile as it spread on her face when I said that, her hazel eyes sparkled with happiness and had me mesmerised. I took her in my arms, pulled her close to my chest and inhaled her scent that I had missed so much while I had been gone. She wrapped her arms around me and inhaled my scent too, making me growl with satisfaction as she hummed in content. I was about to speak again, but then she looked up at me, making the words stick in my throat. How could someone be so breathtaking that all of my senses went out the window, making me want to submit everything I had to her and only her.
“You want to shower with me? We could wash each other.” Casey asked and she didn’t have to ask me twice. I picked her up and threw her over my shoulder, carrying her to the pack house as we both laughed. I ran up the stairs and straight to my room, going to the bathroom. I turned the water on, then we both undressed each other and got into the shower. I had missed the sound of her voice, the sound of her laughter, her scent, her smile, her eyes and her body. I missed everything about her and I was so glad to be back home. Casey and I had been apart for two months and I hated being away from her, but I also loved coming back to her because we were both hungry for each other and it made us want each other more. Everyone says that absence makes the heart grow fonder and it was completely true.
