CH.22

{Wisteria}

I finished all my schoolwork and gave it to Mama Amanda. She asked what time Dayton was coming to pick me up and I said I believe he told me 5 pm. She asked why so early and I said he wanted to be able to do more than just going to dinner. Mama Amanda gave me a look and I instantly threw my hands up and said nothing like that Mama. I think he wants to go bowling and then take me out to eat. She laughed and said ok. She checked my work and said I was doing well in my math and history. I smiled and said well I have an awesome teacher and she makes me want to learn. Mama smiled and said she was glad she made learning fun. I asked her why they never built an actual school on the packland and she said that Papa Clay's parents used to teach the kids outside in front of the packhouse and when it rained they sat in the dining hall so there wasn't a need for one and people just started teaching their kids. I said I think Hardin should build one and you and some of the other parents should teach us. She said that sounded like a good idea and said she would talk to some of her friends and see what they thought. I told her I was going to go up and see Aspen and Anna and she told me to give the pups hugs for her.

When I got up to the packhouse, there was a lot of whispering going on. I asked one of the Omegas who is in housekeeping what was going on and she told me that Hardin was looking for someone. I asked who and she said a pack member named Myah. I said you mean the girl who was friends with Daphanie? She nodded and I asked why he was looking for her. She told me that Myah tripped Ember down the stairs and he wanted to talk to her. I said oh. Is Ember ok? She said she didn't know because she hasn't seen her since the day she was tripped. I told her thank you for telling me what was going on and I went upstairs. When I got to Aspen and Hardin's door it was open and I saw Anna and Aspen sitting on the couch. I stepped over the gate and said hey to them. Aspen looked mad so I asked what was wrong. She told me she was fine and I said you don't have to hide anything from me, sis. I won't tell anyone what's going on. I said does this have anything to do with Myah? She asked how I knew about that and I told her a lot of pack members were whispering about it. She asked what all I knew and I said not much just that she tripped Ember and no one has seen either of them since that day. I asked if she knew if Ember was ok and she told me yes and no. I asked what that meant and she said,

"Physically yes Ember is fine but Mentally no she isn't."

I asked why she wasn't ok mentally and she said she couldn't tell me that at the moment but it would come to light soon. I didn't push it and I said ok. I sat down on the floor next to the pups and Aspen said,

"I noticed that all the pups are drawn to you. I like that you bonded with them as if they were your blood. It's not common for someone who isn't of the same bloodline to bond as well as you, Acer, and Rose have with the pups."

Anna said, "Well Jakob isn't of their bloodline and look at how he is with them. Silas wouldn’t go to anyone except Jakob for a while."

Aspen and I laughed and we both said we remembered.

I looked at the time and said I had to go get ready for my date with Dayton and I kissed all the pups bye and told Anna and Aspen bye. I headed home and got ready for our date. Dayton showed up at 4:55 and we left the packland and headed to the city. We pulled up at the bowling alley and went inside. After Dayton beat me the first game I made a bet with him and said If I win the next game, you have to teach me a little more than what we talked about. He looked at me funny and asked like what? I said I will tell you if I win. He asked what he got if he won and I said you get to make out with me for as long as you want before I have to be home. He agreed to the bet and we played. Dayton won that game as well and he was happy he did. After we left the bowling alley, He asked what I was talking about with me winning the bet. I said well, I was wanting to learn more about what our body's go through. He froze and said,

"Wisteria, I know you are curious but I am not sure I should be teaching you about that. I think you should ask my sister or Anna or even your mom."

I said I know I can go to Anna or Aspen to talk to them but as far as Mama goes that's a big no. I know she would talk to me but it's embarassing. I feel comfortable with you and that's why I was wanting you to teach me. He said,

"I get it. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings by saying you needed to talk to one of them. It's not that I don't want to teach you, It's just I don't know how to say things correctly. I don't want to sound like a pervert or use an incorrect term and things get awkward between us. I will make you a deal, If you let me do a little research on how to explain things correctly then our next date we can go somewhere and you can ask me questions and I will try to answer them."

I thought about it for a moment and then said ok deal. He took me to a wing shop for dinner and I was extremely happy with that because I was craving wings. While we were sitting there eating, Dayton told me when he came to green moon the other day, he was invited out to eat with Aspen and Hardin and he enjoyed spending time with them. I told him I was glad he was able to spend time with them and I knew it made Aspen happy to be building a bond with him. After we ate, Dayton drove me home and kissed me good night before I got out of the car. He walked me to the door and said good night to everyone and then he left.
