After a few days of sleeping in a different room, Brie and Van were able to talk to Ember and convince her to talk to me. I am getting ready to go up to our room now so I can explain what happened and hopefully be allowed back in our room. Once I finished getting dressed, I headed to our room. When I got to the door, I knocked and waited on Ember to open the door. When she opened the door she looked like she hadn't had any sleep since I was told to leave our room. I asked her if she was ok and she nodded. I said it doesn't look like you are Ember. You look like you haven't slept in days. She turned to me and glared. I could see her eyes were puffy and red as well. I asked her why she had been crying and she said,

“Why do you think I have been crying, Alex? I have been here in our room alone and pregnant thinking about some she-wolf's lips on yours. Why wouldn't I be crying?"

I reached for her hand but she pulled away from me. I walked into the room and closed the door. I said Ember, listen to me. I was hit with a rock and blacked out. When I came to I was in the hospital and some crazy chick was kissing me. I yelled for the nurse to remove her. I didn't purposely kiss another woman. Why would I want another woman? I love you Ember and we just found out we are going to have a pup. Why would I do anything to lose you or do anything to jeopardize our family? I swear to the moon goddess I don't know who that chick is and why she would be in my hospital room kissing me other than she must be on something. You can even ask Van he asked her how she knew me and she said she didn't even know anyone named Alexander. Ember, I am telling you the goddess honest truth. I did not want her to kiss me and I did not enjoy it. I know you felt it but I didn't want it. I was asleep when she kissed me.

Ember said, "but why did I feel it twice, Alexander? If she kissed you while you were asleep, why did I feel it twice and at different times? That's why I can't believe it was random."

I said It's the truth Ember. I was asleep the first time. It wasn't long after Van left my room. After I yelled at her to get out I closed my eyes and she kissed me again. That's when I yelled for the nurse to remove her. Ask the nurse I told her I didn't know the chick and even told her I was your mate. I would never hurt you Ember. I have been through enough pain in my life to not want to do something cause anyone else pain. I love you and our unborn pup. My whole pack and family were taken from Van and I, I would never jeopardize my mate and pup.

Ember looked at me and then turned to the window and said,

"How do I know this crazy she-wolf won't come after you again Alex?"

I said I can't tell you she won't because I don't know if she will but I am hoping that since Van and the nurse made her leave the hospital, that she won't be a problem again.

Ember allowed me to come back to our room but made me promise to steer clear of all unmated she-wolves which I gladly agreed to do so. Once I got my stuff from my temporary room I told Ember I was going to go up and let Alpha Hardin know I was going back to our room and give him the key back. Ember told me she was going to go down and get her some more tea from the kitchen.

After I finished with Alpha Hardin, I was heading down to the kitchen to see if Ember needed any help when I got a mind-link from Van, panicking and telling me to get my ass downstairs now. When I got to the kitchen, I asked what was wrong and I saw Ember leaning over the counter holding her stomach. Van told me to get her to Dr. Morris right now and I picked her up and headed to the hospital. I asked Ember what happened and she told me some she-wolf tripped her going down the stairs and she felt ok at first but as soon as she got to the kitchen she started having sharp pains in her stomach. When we got to the pack hospital I told them it was an emergency and she needed to be seen right away. The nurse took us straight to a room and asked what happened. I told her Ember was pregnant and she was tripped going down the stairs and experiencing pain in her stomach. The nurse said she would be right back with Dr. Morris. It wasn't even 5 minutes later when Dr. Morris rushed into the room and started doing an exam on Ember. She asked the nurse to get the heart doppler and to get an ultrasound machine. I asked what was going on and she told me she needed to check on the pup. Ember freaked out and started crying and I tried my best to keep her calm and not to freak out myself. I asked Ember if she knew who it was that tripped her and she told me no. Doctor Morris told the nurse to get Alpha Hardin and Luna Aspen. The nurse left the room and I asked what was wrong. Doctor Morris told me to wait until the Alpha and Luna arrived.

10 minutes later Alpha Hardin and Luna Aspen were coming into Ember's room. Alpha Hardin asked what was wrong and Doctor Morris said,

"Alpha, Luna, I needed you two to come down to help me keep Ember and Alexander calm when I tell them this."

Doctor Morris turned and looked at Ember and I and said,

"Alexander, Ember, I know I just gave you the news a few days ago but I am so sorry to have to tell you this but when Ember was tripped down the steps, the pup didn't make it. I tried to find a heartbeat and see if there was any type of flicker on the ultrasound but there isn't."

Ember started bawling and I got angry and punched the wall. Alpha Hardin came over to me and put his hand on my shoulder and told me to go to Ember and let the anger go for now. Luna Aspen was rubbing Ember's leg and crying. Luna Aspen asked Doctor Morris what was going to happen to the pup and she told her that Ember was far enough along to be induced and deliver the pup. She told Luna Aspen that we would be able to bury our pup in a few days.

Alpha Hardin pulled me outside the room and asked me if I knew what happened to cause this and I broke down and cried. I told him some she-wolf tripped Ember when she was going down the stairs. He asked if Ember knew who it was and I told him no, that I had already asked. He told me he was going to investigate what happened and he was going to take care of the burial arrangements. When we walked back into the room Ember was holding onto the Luna's hand and they were both bawling. I asked Doctor Morris when she was planning on inducing Ember and she told me the sooner the better that way Ember's body could heal. I told her to go ahead and do it.

After 7 hours of Ember and I crying and her having to go through labor, Doctor Morris held up our tiny little pup. She said Ember, Alexander, this is your son. I stumbled back and slid down the wall and bawled. Ember kept saying she was sorry and I told her it wasn't her fault. Doctor Morris had to give Ember something to calm her down and she asked Alpha Hardin to try to calm me down. He told me he was going to have Luna Aspen sit with Ember while he and I went for a walk. When we got outside, he told me to follow him and we headed toward the woods. He started undressing and said shift, Alexander. We both shifted and he and I took off running. When we came to a stop in the middle of the field he told me to let it out. Cree started howling in pain and even though I was in wolf form I cried and yelled inside our mind. After what felt like hours of howling and crying, Alpha Hardin told me it was time to go back to Ember. We headed back to our clothes and shifted back to human form then headed back to the hospital.
