Three-Audrey

1773 Words
Audrey's POV I sat by the window watching the rain droplets fall to the ground as tears fell freely from my eyes, The hunger pangs in my stomach were a persistent reminder that I needed to find something to eat but sadly I was out of groceries and I couldn't and will not go out there without any assurance I won't be shot on sight, I have not been able to move anywhere since last night, the fear of being killed is just a feeling I can't seem to shake off. Mrs.Rachel called earlier this morning but I couldn't bring myself to tell her anything even though my whole insides screamed otherwise, what if she gets killed too, I can't let that happen. The loud banging on the front door pulled me out of my reverie as fear gripped me, 'he is here for me again', 'Is he really going to murder me in my own home?' , 'I don't want to die, not yet', the thoughts running through my mind fuelling my racing heart as I frantically searched for a way out without using the front door, 'maybe I could just climb down from the window', I thought moving as soon as the thought crossed my mind, a few injuries can't compare to a bullet to the head right?. With that thought in mind I quickly tied a few blankets together making sure it was tight enough to bear my weight, with one last glance around my room I took a deep breath putting my left leg out first, "Come on Audrey, you got this" I prepped myself as the height got to my head, "I wouldn't do that if I were you" Just as I was about to cross over completely a voice spoke up behind me startling me as I slipped eliciting a scream from me preparing myself for the impact of the fall, "You can open your eyes now" the voice spoke up again after what felt like minutes but was actually a few seconds as I slowly realized I wasn't feeling any sort of pain from the fall meaning..., "Don't touch me" I shrieked quickly moving away when I realized he caught me, "You are welcome" he replied a bored look on his face as he stared at me while I acted like he had infected me with his hands, "Are you done?" he asked in a dry tone after a few minutes, "Is this point where you kill me already?, because if you are going to kill me I would advise you to make it quick" I spat out trying to sound string despise the fear in my heart, "Kill you, I wish" he scoffed, "What does that even mean?" I asked staring at him skeptically, "Pack whatever it is you will need for the next few months that cannot be easily replaced and by that I mean personal belongings that are important to you or something so no unnecessary clothes" he suddenly said in a bored tone like he was simply talking about the weather, "Uhm, I don't... understand" I stuttered staring at him wide-eyed, "You have less than fifteen minutes, your time is already counting so if I were you I would get moving" he replied his eyes wandering around the room but somehow he was still looking at me, something about this guy was creepy and scary but I have a feeling he is not the one after my life, right? "You must be delusional to think you can just waltz into my room which I still don't know how you made it in with all the locks and think I would just up and follow you, if want you kill me just kill me here so my parents can at least find my body" I shot at him anger and irritation slowly flooding my system, he stared at me a little, a slow dark smile forming on his face as he walked towards me causing me to back away carefully, "Trust me Blondie, if I was here to kill you, I wouldn't even have graced you the opportunity of seeing my face" he whispered right behind my ear, goosebumps slowly spread through me as I shivered a little to shake it off, yup definitely creepy. "I would be downstairs, just because we are meeting for the first time let me inform you, I hate to be kept waiting so do yourself some good and don't keep me waiting Blondie" he spoke up again when I couldn't find the right words to say to him, he walked away right after leaving me to my racing heart and wild thoughts and according to my calculation ten minutes to escape because there is no way I am going anywhere with him, I can possible report all of this to the police and hopefully that can keep me safe without the creepy guy being in the picture, with that I headed back to the window with a stronger spirit and greater motivation, taking three deep breathes I grabbed my improvised rope slowly climbing down making sure I didn't look down so much to avoid putting any more fear in my heart. "You know it's disobedience and stubbornness like yours that gets most people killed like they didn't matter" his voice spoke from behind me as my feet successfully touched the ground, "Are you being for real now, are you some kind of spirit or something?" I asked startled throwing my hands up in the air exasperated, "Well, I gave you patience and you seem not to have needed it with the stunt you just pulled so we are going the hard way then" he spoke up ignoring my earlier comment, before I could attack him for that I was suddenly lifted off the ground and thrown on his shoulder like some log of wood, "Put me down" I yelled trying to struggle but it seemed futile as he is obviously blessed with muscles for arms, I clearly do not stand a chance against a single arm not to mention two. He ignored all my efforts to break free, walking in a direction I couldn't make out due to my position but surprisingly his broad shoulders and muscular arms didn't feel as comfortable as I would imagined, I didn't feel any kind of nausea despite my position. He finally stopped, placing me on the passenger's seat of a car I hadn't seen here earlier on and shutting the door before I could try anything, the glasses were tinted making it hard to see anything going on outside, "Now I would advise you take a nap or something, this is going to be a rough ride" his gruff voice came in after a few minutes as he sat on the other side, the glass demarcating the driver's seat from the others gave us a certain privacy I didn't want to have, he can easily snap my neck in here and no one would say a thing, "You can't do this, this is kidnapping" I cried out once I realized there was no way I was going to escape, "Trust me, this is one of the nicest things I have ever done but if you say so I can add kidnap to my portfolio," he said smugly running a hand through his hair as he muttered under his breath. He stretched knocking twice on the glass demarcating the driver's seat like some kind of code and the car started almost immediately but that wasn't what caught my eyes, the gun tucked by his waist side did making me gulp in fear as I stared at it, "I won't use it until you force me to, so sleep now Blondie" he whispered once he noticed my line of vision a dark smirk plastered on his face, "Where are you taking me to?" I asked trying to sound strong despite the battle going on in my head, He c****d his head to the side to stare at me but he didn't utter a word before facing his attention back on whatever he was doing on his phone. Our current position finally made me look past the brooding face he had been spotting since I saw him, if this were to be a better situation I wouldn't mind him, he is the perfect definition of a beautiful man. Sharp jawline, prominent cheekbones, perfectly plump and pink lips, his hands would occasionally run through his mop of black hair which fell beautifully on his face but stopped right before his eyes like he was always cautious of that, as he casually scrolled through his phone like it meant nothing, even the little flex of his muscles as he moved couldn't be missed, the kind of men you only see movies and novels, "Didn't your mother tell you it isn't good to stare" he suddenly spoke up startling me a bit, "I wasn't staring" I shot back immediately turning my attention to the window to hide my face although I couldn't still make out a single thing, "Sure" he replied sarcastically before a defending silence fell upon us. My eyes slowly drooped as the car ride seemed like it wasn't coming to an end anytime soon, my insides screamed at me trying to remind me to keep my guard up but with my lack of food and sleep from last night that was becoming a difficult battle, "I would advise you to not fight it, you should rest up, you will need all the energy you can get, we still have a flight to catch anyways and Italy is approximately nine hours away" he suddenly spoke up his gaze still fixed on his phone screen, the sleep in my eyes didn't let me realize what he said immediately until it hit me, "Excuse me, did you just say Italy?" I panicked, "I do not enjoy repeating myself" he answered in a leveled tone like he just told me he was taking me on a walk to the park and not over five hours away from home, I was about to protest when the sound of gunshots and screams started, "s**t" he muttered under his breath his hands immediately flying to his waist side where he tucked in the gun I saw earlier, then I noticed the knives also lined up at his back like it was a normal thing to do, "Stay here and keep your head down" he instructed knocking twice on the glass just like he did earlier and the car came to an abrupt stop, he didn't need to tell me twice.
