Chapter 25: Lost and Almost Found

I woke up at five o’ clock sharp. I checked on Sariah. She was sleeping soundly. She was my first thought every morning and my last thought every night. I sighed. My life had changed so suddenly. She began to frown and fret in her sleep like something was amiss in her dreams. I brushed my lips gently against her forehead, hoping some contact with her mate might help. She seemed to settle down. She would have to eat breakfast alone later.
I showered and dressed. I found Raphael in his room, sitting at the side of his bed with his head bowed and his shoulders hunched. His eyes were wide and staring and the dark circles under them seemed worse than yesterday.
“Did you get any sleep?” I asked.
“What do you think?” He responded.
