"Mom, I'm fine," I said again for maybe the 50th time.

"Boy if you don't hush...." Mom mumbled while she tossed my ripped up shirt in the garbage. "What happened out there?"

"Rouges." I said and flexed my muscles then cracked my neck, "Where's Richard?"

Mom shrugged and gave me one last look over before finally deciding I was okay. Mothers am I right?

"There's some breakfast for you on the table Aiden." Mom said and I jumped off the bed in the hospital wing of the packhouse and jetted downstairs.

I jetted down corridors and zoomed past pack members to the kitchen but when I got there, I was greeted by an empty kitchen as well as a food less table.

I heard snickering behind me and I turned to see my mom standing near the entrance, leaning on the wall.

"Oh sorry...I ate it." She burst out laughing.

I glared at her for a moment then she glared right back. "You know you won't win this," Mom said and I raised a brow.

"You sure? I'm the Glare King." I replied.

"Put money on it." Mom said and I dug around in my pocket and pulled out a $50. Mom laid $100 on the table. "I bet to win." She said with a wink then resumed her glare.

"Weren't you the one who told me no bets with mom?" Kaden said with a smug look as I grumbled lowly as mom counted the money she made off of me after about 4 rounds of glaring. She does not bet small I can tell you that because I lost $500 to her.

"It's okay baby. He'll be okay. You'll be okay won't you, Aid?" Mom said with a grin and I rolled my eyes.

Kaden's eyes glazed over, indicating to us he was mind linking with someone so we remained quiet for a sec. When his us returned back to normal, he wore a grim look on his face.

"Uh oh.," Mom whispered.

"Kaden. What is it?" I asked and he faced me with black eyes.

"Ilene and Iris are at our borders."

Kaden's POV

"Can I help you Alpha?" I asked with the coldest tone of voice possible and Iris only smiled sourly at me in return.

I turned my attention to Ilene for a moment. She stared at me with a bitterness that would make me quiver in my boots...

If I cared.

"If you are going to stand on my land and not answer me then you are obligated to leave. Don't waste my time Iris." I said as he still was yet to speak.

Danica stood beside me, growling lowly at Ilene who now had her icy glare fixated on my mate. I wish she would try something.

Goddess, I want her to try something.

"I see your new mate has an attitude problem," Iris said, finally speaking up.

I could literally feel Danica's irritation through our link so I linked her. "Calm down baby." She eyed through the corner of her eye and gave me a small nod then her growling began to subside.

"Oh trust me she has one, yes," I replied, "so you better be careful. I wouldn't want you to get hurt... Neither you Ilene." I said with a smirk.

"I can take her anytime!" Ilene growled and before I could say anything, Danica spoke up.

"Only say words you mean Ilene. If you couldn't handle getting your hair pulled, then I can only imagine how'll you act when the claws come out."

"Ladies, ladies. Calm down." Iris said lazily. "Ilene, I didn't bring you here to fight. I came to do business with you, Alpha Kaden."

Danica snorted and crossed her arms while I smirked. "Business? Is that right?... Then proceed. I'm quite a busy man, Iris. Babies to make and all that."

Through the corner of my eye, I saw Danica's open wide and she looked at me with wide eyes and bright pink cheeks.

"I thought children were to be made with a mate. And unless I'm mistaken, Lilly died a long time ago." Iris said while he gave Danica a hard stare which she seemed to be ignoring.

I swear I felt my eye twitch at the mention of Lilly. Yes, I've gotten over the fact that she's gone and I'm happy with Danica but she was still a tender topic for me. "No, you are not mistaken. Lilly is gone but you are looking at a miracle," I said as I looked over at Dani, who was currently sending daggers at Iris and Ilene.

"What miracle?" Ilene asked and I smiled.

"This miracle." I replied then grabbed Danica's hand and kissed it, "Danica is my second chance mate."

"Impossible. No such thing." Iris said with an angry tone, "This is just your silly game to prevent from marrying my daughter."

"Iris. I never wanted your daughter in the first place and I have no idea what on earth gave you the idea that I did but it was wrong. Ilene has her own mate, she belongs with him and nobody else."

"You need me to bring some warriors?" Aiden asked through the link but I told him that I didn't need them for the moment.

Iris growled lowly at me and looked over at his daughter. Ilene took a step forward then looked me straight in the eyes.

"Kaden..think of the empire we could have together. We'd be the ultimate power couple. I mean come on, I found these cute matching outfits we could wear! Hashtag King and Queen, like hello."

I shook my head, "That's your problem, Ilene. You're only concerned with power, not even love or your own happiness. I am building my empire just fine, thank you, and I'm doing that with Danica. My mate."

Ilene's face became a bright shade of red as she huffed in anger a couple of times before she said something that actually made me a little worried.

"I hope you're prepared for what happens next."
