Adrianna's POV "W-what?" I stuttered in fear as he eyed the small glass bottle's label. "Eye of a Frog? What are you doing with the eye of a frog?" Aiden asked with a brow raised high and he looked up at me and I knew he was expecting an answer. "I uh...." "I mean it's pretty weird you'd have this mixed in with your groceries and-....." Aiden continued, but at that moment I got an idea!  Groceries... I slapped my palm on my forehead and chuckled. "I must have grabbed the wrong bottle." Aiden raised a brow and looked down at the bottle in his hand then back up at me. "Grabbed the wrong bottle?" He squinted his eyes, "You can't find this stuff at Wal-Mart."          I rolled my eyes and grabbed the bottle from him. "Well, I'm sorry that I can't control what the humans put out on the stock." I heard him Sigh. "Adri, that's not what I meant... I'm sorry okay? Maybe we can go out later? Dinner? Please?" The urge to jump into his arms and kiss the life out of him was at an all-time high as I heard the begging tone in his voice...but I had something more important to finish. "I'm sorry Aiden but I can't. Not tonight." I could feel his sadness through our bond and it only made me feel guilty and upset that I had to hurt him this way but I was doing this for him. For us. •••••• "Ah Meteo Sanktay Sanktay! Duey dembella..." I chanted repeatedly in the middle of the circle of candles I had surrounded myself with. A sharp burn spread across my body, making me wince but barely falter in my chants. If this doesn't work...I don't know what will. •••••• Aiden's POV "Come on," I whispered. "Tell me why again you called me to help you stalk on your girlfriend?" Richard whispered back to me as we quietly tried to creep up the fire escape to Adrianna's apartment. "Danica couldn't come and you're the only one I know with good enough stalking skills," I replied. I heard him stop behind me and when I turned around, he only stared at me with a smile. "Bye." He said then tried to turn around to leave.          "No-no-no. You aren't going anywhere. I'm your Beta remember? Don't make me order you." I said, which made him sigh and continue to follow me up the fire escape. Richard joined our pack a few months ago, at the request of Danica. She said she felt bad that he was all by himself out there as a rogue and Kaden gave in so easily that I knew it was bound to happen but he isn't such a bad guy once you hang around him enough. "Had to pull the Beta card once again..." I heard him mumble, making me smirk. "But seriously.. Why are we doing this?" He asked me again and I sighed softly and tapped to my head. "She's hiding something from me," I said via mind link, "And I want to find out what it is." Richard didn't reply, but I assumed he nodded his head to I continue to creep up the fire escape. "It's a full moon tonight," Richard said a few moments after we arrived at her window.  I looked up and gazed at the bright moon that shone way above me. They say sometimes if you focus hard enough, you can hear the Goddess speaking to you on nights like this but that was only a superstition made by superstitious wolves a few years back. I nodded, "And the red moon is coming up in a few months." I said via link while I peeked through the window.  It was the window that was above the sink in her kitchen. She was there, placing a knife and some weird looking seasonings on the table. Maybe she's cooking, nothing bad about that I guess. "I know. It only happens once every 60 years." He replied while he leaned against a lone railing that was against the brick wall. I just nodded slowly and didn't say anything. Adrianna had my attention right now. Her head diverted slowly to my direction and I moved quickly to the side, motioning to Richard that she was right there. If I didn't hide my scent, she would have smelled me here a long time ago. Adrianna watched out the window for a few moments then moved back. I peeked through the window again, and I now saw that the candles were placed in a circle on the floor. I raised a brow and nudged Richard. He moved a bit closer to me and peeked into the window. His brows had risen high as he watched Adrianna sit in the middle of the candles. "What the hell is she doing?" He asked, again via mind link and I could only shrug. I wish I knew what she was doing. She began to speak but I couldn't understand what she was saying. It sounded like another language or something. Richard and I watched intently as her leg began to twitch almost furiously. Her chest began to heave up and down at a quick pace and I found my self growing breathless. One by one, the candles blew their selves out and when the last one went out, the entire room inside grew dark. "This is some seriously creepy s**t. I'm out." Richard said and turned to leave but I grabbed his arm. "No, you aren't going any-" A loud screeching scream cut me off from anything I was about to say and I covered my ears while Richard did the same. My ears felt like they were about to pop off my head and my vision blurred with red. Richard began to growl loudly and I somewhat saw the blood run down the side of his neck. I tried to stand but I only found myself going back down. The screaming seemed to go on forever and it was almost as if it was sucking the energy right out of me like a vacuum. "Come on!" Richard yelled to me as he quickly stood up and jumped off the fire escape, to the ground below up that was like 3 floors away. I gripped the railings with both hands, leaving my ears completely exposed to the power of the death-like screams and I climbed over, letting myself drop over the edge but I lost my focus as well as my ability to breathe and I shifted without even trying. Thankfully, I landed on all fours. The screaming stopped finally, but that didn't help me feel any better as my vision went completely dark and I sank into unconsciousness.
