Aiden POV "I just got off the phone with Lewis," I said to Kaden as he took a few more jelly beans from the glass bowl on my desk, "He said the marks on the bodies match those of the previous murders. He also said we should watch ourselves. Seems they're coming our way and becoming more violent." Kaden dropped some jelly beans into his mouth then shook his head. "These aren't regular attacks by your everyday wolf. Look at these gashes! Not even my claws go that deep." He motioned to the pictures of mauled and torn bodies that laid out on my desk. I hate to admit it but he has a point. They only happen on full moons. "What if it's not a wolf?" I asked, out of the blue, causing my brother to raise a brow. "What else could it be? Vampires are existing by a thread, they'd never come this close to a werewolf packs." He replied but I shook my head "What if it's not a vampire either?" I asked one again but he shrugged. "Then what?" "I don't know," I rubbed my chin, "But I intend on finding out." •••••••• "Adrianna!" I shouted for maybe the 4th time. She wasn't answering my knocks so I resorted to yelling. Pathetic? Probably but she's my mate and I'll never stop trying. "Aiden?" A voice behind me called out softly and I turned around fast as hell to see someone who I didn't intend on seeing. "Um...Hey Miranda.." I said and she smiled a little. I watched her over carefully and I noticed she lost a lot of weight, making her look more relatively close to the skinny side. Miranda is still apart of our pack but she no longer lives on the grounds. Before you say anything, no I didn't throw her out or anything like that. She left on her own free will after asking Kaden. I'm not sure why she did but then again I never asked. "It's been a while." She said as she moved some strands of her no dark blue hair behind her ear. I faked a smile and nodded. "Yeah, it has." "Looking for your mate?" I raised a brow and slowly nodded again, "Yeah... How'd you know?" Miranda shrugged, "I live in this building and I've smelled, heard, and seen you here. I never really came to say anything before, I know. Didn't wanna disturb you and your mate time." "Oh, it's okay. Um, have you seen her?" I asked, in hopes of seeing Adrianna. I was going to try to actually sit down with her and talk. We need too. "I haven't seen her yet since yesterday. Maybe she went out early." Miranda replied and I sensed a little off-ness in her voice but I wasn't about to ask about that either right now. "Oh. Thanks... Well bye. Take care of yourself, Miranda." I said and gave her a soft pat on the shoulder and made my way out. Miranda said a soft goodbye to me while I turned to leave. Somehow, I feel like she isn't yet moved on from what we had but maybe she's on her way there. Now, Where could Adri be? Does she go to the gym or something? Mall maybe? Wal-Mart? I took a deep breath and sighed out in defeat. I guess I'll just have to try tomorrow. As I was about to open the door to exit the building, I paused as a strong putrid scent hit me. Pulling open the door to go in search of the scent, I was almost thrown down as the source of it was right there in front of me. My eyes opened wide in shock, then a startled, out of breath body collapsed in my arms. And that body was my mate's.
