Chapter Six

430 Words
"What's wrong with her?" "Why was she covered in blood?" I closed my eyes and put my hand in front of my face to block out the questions being asked to me by my family. "I DON'T KNOW!", I finally yelled out, "I... I don't know.." My mother slowly wrapped her arms around me in a hug while my gaze wandered to my sleeping mate who was now cleaned and resting in our hospital wing. Goddess knows the frightening thoughts that crossed my mind as I drove speedily to my pack house with her laying in the back seat. I could have taken her to a closer hospital, sure but she isn't a human. "We need to figure out what did this to her.," Danica whispered as she stared at Adrianna with a worrying look. Kaden placed his hands on his mate's shoulders to comfort her through their bond and I only wished I could do that with mine right now. "Let's give Aiden some privacy with His mate," My brother said but I was too deep in thought to tell them to stay. I wanted the company of my family but at the same time, I wanted time with my sleeping beauty. Slowly, I touched her fingers. They felt cold, which was odd considering wolves are naturally warm in body temperature. Her cuts and bruises were visibly healing and fading. Slowly but surely. "What happened to you?" I whispered to the cool breeze that came in through the open window.  Adrianna was so pale, she looked almost dead. If it wasn't for our bond, I'd probably assume she was. My mind was in turmoil because I had no idea what to do. Not being in control of the situation was utterly giving me a migraine. I sat down in a chair near the wall, staring at Adri, waiting for her to wake up. Please wake up soon. ~~~~~ Richard's POV For some reason, I found myself in the waiting room of the pack's hospital. I'll never forget what I saw that night with Aiden outside his mate's window. Actually, I'm not totally sure if I know what I saw but it definitely was not normal. She's either in a cult or she's Satan. Okay, maybe those two options are a bit out of the box but hey, I'm not even supposed to exist but here I am. Something is off about that girl. Seriously off. I stood up and swiftly left the hospital wing to my car which wasn't too far away. The words Adrianna chanted that night, replayed in my head over and over since the moment I heard it and right now... I'm going to find out what they mean.
