Hanging Out

Mya:

I sat on one of the white leather couch, next to Alice. Brooke sat behind the desk and Daniel sat in a chair across from Alice and I. Alice chuckled and I looked at her, wondering what was so funny.

“You’re nervous.” She told me. “You need to calm down. Your pulse on your monitor will change if you’re nervous.”

I nodded, turning my attention to my bracelet. It was green at the moment, but if I kept tripping, I was going to worry them.

“Mya Hernandez, is it?” Daniel asked me.

“Yes.” I said, glancing up at him.

“Alice tells me you’re in need of compensation for rent?”

“Yes, I need to get my rent paid.”

“Don’t worry; you’ll get your 50,000 after you sign the contract.”

“And that’s after you sign it, not before or during.’ Daniel said. 

“I understand.” I told him.

Daniel rubbed the beard under his chin as he stared at me. 

“Mya, what kind of men you like?” He finally asked.

“Asking right away, aren’t we?” Brooke asked her husband.

Daniel turned to her and Brooke smiled before she turned back to the computer, clicking away on the keyboard. Daniel got up got up from the chair and walked over to the desk,. He took the picture frame that was on the desk and brought it over to me. I took the picture from it and glanced down at it.

“Who would you choose out of my twelve boys?” He asked me. 

There were twelve guys on the picture. All of them had blonde hair and glowing brown eyes, except for the one on the right. He had black hair and glowing light brown eyes. All of them were gorgeous. Sexy smiles, beautiful fair complexion. The last one, though. He had captured me. I always had a thing for guys with freckles. They all were muscular built and tall. All of them resembled their father. 

“None of them look like the mama.” I said, smiling.

“Ha, none at all.” Brooke chuckled.

“They all came from you?” 

“All twelve and I want more.” Daniel said, turning to his wife. 

Brooke smiled and I watched the two stare at each other with lust.

“They’re all very handsome men.”  I told them. “But for some reason, I feel drawn to the one on the right.”

Daniel extended his hand to me and I handed him the picture frame. He glanced down and smiled.

“You were right, my love.” Daniel said. “She went for Christian.”

“It’s his first time here, too.” Brooke said. 

Daniel placed the picture frame back down on the desk and he turned back to me.

“Mya, I can tell you’re on your period.” Daniel said. “My son is actually here at the moment, but I can’t have you meeting him in this condition.”

“I understand.” I told him. 

“I am also going to schedule you a doctor’s appointment before the Meet N’ Greet. That’ll be an hour before the event. 

Brooke stood up and handed me a clipboard with a paper on it and pen connected to it. 

“The contract.” Brooke told me. “When you sign it, you are in our program. There is no backing out or anything, so we want to know if you are willing to participate in it?”

The program sounded interesting. I never been a mother nor have I ever been pregnant, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want kids. I always wanted a family to claim as my own. Taking the pen, I quickly signed my signature on it. I handed the contract to Daniel and he took it. 

“Excellent.” Daniel said, then he turned to Alice. “Go ahead and send her the funds.”

“Okay.” Alice said, grabbing her phone from her pocket and texting on it. A chime noise came on my phone for my Paypal. I took my phone out of my bag and glanced down at it. 

“Thank you.” I told them. “ I do have some more questions, if that’s okay?”

“Definitely.” Brooke said. “What would you like to know?”

“What happens at the Meet N’ Greet?”

“Well, it will be at our restaurant.” Daniel said. “The men will already be there. They will be wearing a number. The women will come in, tell their name and they will be given the matching numbers. Then, they look for their match and it goes from there. If he likes you, the man is to lead you to an area known as the branding room. That’s where you will be branded with his name on you.”

“A tattoo?”

Daniel nodded and I sighed. That would be my first tattoo.

“You’re not thinking of cancelling, are you?” Daniel asked me.

“Oh no.” I said. “I signed a contract, remember?”

Daniel chuckled and nodded.

“So, the event is next Saturday.” Brooke said. “Knowing how my sons’ are, they love women to show skin. Get an elegant dress that shows a little cleavage and a little bit of leg to attract his attention.”

“I think I can do that.” I commented. “What time on Saturday?” 

“Seven.” Daniel said. “And not a minute sooner or later.”

“I’ll be there.” 

I got up from the chair.

“Remember, doctor’s appointment first. We need to make sure you’re okay and well for a child.”

“I’ll remember it. An hour before the event right?”

“Make it the day before the event.” Brooke replied. “Don’t want to have you sore on the day you meet Christian. It might affect you… Sexually.”

I raised an eyebrow at her before I chuckled.

“I don’t think…. I will be having s*x that night.” I stumbled over my words.

“You never seen Christian in person.” Alice interfered. “I promise you this, you might be our first girl to get pregnant on that night.”

I looked from Alice to Daniel and Brooke. Every one of them had a smile on their face. It made me question this Christian guy and why they were already doubting me.

Walking out of the building, I checked my Paypal. I could not believe it was in my account. 50,000 dollars was right there in my account. Sitting there, waiting for me to spend it. Well, first thing was first: My rent and bills. Walking to my car, I decided to give Mrs. Sanders a call. I opened the door and right as I was getting in, I heard someone whistle by the car two spots down from me. I turned around and saw Darla standing there with another group of women.

“Hey, let’s go out!” She shouted. “We should get to know each other since we’re in the program together.”

“I have to pay my rent first!” I shouted to them.

“You don’t pay your bills by phone?! I do that with mines!”

Wow, I thought to myself. I never thought about it at all. Sighing, I closed the door and walked over to her car. There was Darla and two others I didn’t even get a chance to meet. 

“Did you guys accept as well?” I asked them.

“Yeah, girl.” Darla said. “I was not about to miss out on that 50,000 dollars. I wouldn’t mind being a wife and a mother. Two easiest things to me.”

“Who are you linked with?” I asked.

“I have this guy named Anthony.” One of the girls said. “He’s really cute.”

“I have Miguel.” The second girl in the group said. “I wonder what happened to the others.”

“They probably didn’t take it.” Darla said, then she turned to me. “Who do you have?”

“Um, I got Christian.” I told them. 

“Brooke and Daniel’s son?” Darla asked. 

“The youngest one, yes.”

“Oh, he’s gorgeous.” The other girl said. “I’m actually jealous.”

“I am as well.” The second one said. 

“Well, let’s go out and get to know each other.”

We all seperated to get to our cars. I got to mines and hopped in, waiting for Darla to leave first. I wasn’t sure where they were going, but I wasn’t going to go back to the house.

We met with a few more girls before we had departed to Red Lobster. It felt good to actually meet up with some of the girls who accepted the program as well. I was even able to learn the names of the others: Janine, Danielle, Breanna, Leslie and Chantay. Very nice girls and they all were somewhat in the same predicament as I was. 

“So, I ended up getting one of Daniel and Brooke’s boys.” Chantay said.

“Oh, so that means you and Mya will be sisters soon.” Darla said.

Chantay turned to me.

“Who did you get?” She asked me.

“I got Christian.” I told her, eating the cheddar biscuits that the waiter brought to us. 

“Nice. I got the oldest son, Kade. He’s 34 years old.”

“Christian is 23 years old.” I told them.

“Robbing the cradle, aren’t we?” Darla asked me.

“Um, I’m actually 19 year old.” I announced.

“Wow, you’re young.” Breanna said. “Are you sure you’re ready to do this?”

“I’ve been living on my own for two years now. I’m kind of in need for companionship.”

“I can understand that.” Leslie said. “So, I feel after this, we should go shopping. We need to find elegant dresses for the event next Saturday.”

“We can do that.”Darla said, then she looked at me. “What are you wearing?”

“Well, I think Chantay and I need to find something a little… Revealing. Our guys like a little skin showing.”

“Hm, really?” Chantay asked.

“Yeah, that’s what I was told.” I replied. 

“Hello, sorry for the wait.” The waiter from before said as he rushed over to our table. “What can I get you beautiful ladies?”

“Aw, how sweet.” Breanna said. “Alright, I already know what I want.”

We all ordered our food, then we handed the waiter our menus before he went back to prepare our orders. While we waited, we continued to talk about our men.

“I heard we are getting branded at the Meet N’ Greet.” Janine finally spoke.

“Yeah, tattoos of their last name on our ring finger.”

“Will they get ours?” Danielle asked. 

“No, they will wear wedding bands.” Darla said. “I heard that you can get replaced in this program.”

Everybody looked at one another before they turned back to Darla.

“What do you mean?” I asked her.

“There was a woman that took the program before. She was never able to keep a child. She was able to get pregnant, but when she would reach two months, she would just continue to miscarry. Her husband had enough and told the program that he wanted someone new that was able to hold a pregnancy. The girl was sent away and she lost her 50,000 dollars, too.”

“Wow, what the heck.” Leslie said. “I’m scared now. I’ve never been pregnant before and I don’t know if I could even hold a child.”

“Don’t doubt yourself.” I told her. “We all don’t know if we could hold children.”

“Well, we’ll find out.” Danielle said. “I hope we all get to stay with the men we matched with.”

“Same.” I sighed.

Just thinking about what Darla said, that bothered me. I would be giving this guy my virginity. Will I be able to carry a child for him.”

“Moving on, did you see how big their family is?” Chantay asked. “12 boys? Holy s**t!”

“Back to back at that.” Darla said. “Daniel is blessed.”

“He’s sexy, too.” Janine said.

“Very sexy. They are both a gorgeous couple and they brought very sexy boys into the world.” 

“Christian is very sexy, though.” Breanna said. The black long hair and the freckles.”

“You’re so lucky, Mya.” Danielle said.

“You guys, stop.” I said. “Your men are probably stunning like ours is.”

“Yeah, mines has blue eyes and blonde hair.” Janine said. “No freckles. which sucks ass.”

“So. they’re good looking as well, right?”

“Yeah, they are.” Darla said. 

Our food came and we continued to talk about the event while we ended the seafood platter.

“I’ll see you guys later?” I asked as I put my bag of clothes in the trunk of my car.

“I’ll call you.” Darla said as she walked to her car. “You better answer, too.”

“I will.”

Darla smiled and nodded before she got into the car. I walked to my driver’s side and unlocked the car door. 

“Hey!” Darla shouted from her passenger’s side window. 

I turned around and leaned down to look at her.

“I hope they didn’t bother you when they were talking about Christian.” She said.

I smiled and shook my head. 

“No, they didn’t.” I told her. “They just made me eager to meet him, that’s all.”

“We should go together to the event. Did you want to?”

“Of course. Just call me and let me know when you’re going to head out and we can meet somewhere.”

She waved before she pulled out of the parking spot. I leaned back up and got into the car. I closed the door and started the car up. Now, I needed to pay rent to my manager, so I won’t hear her damn mouth.
