The Seminar

Mya:

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

I woke up with heavy cramping in my stomach. It was from the pill the woman told me to take yesterday. I turned over and pressed the alarm button. When I threw back the covers, I gasped loudly. Not only was my pajama pants soaked in blood, but my fancy new white sheets that I had just bought from Leslie’s Home Furniture was covered in blood as well. 

“Oh my god…” I said as I slowly gotten out of bed. 

I walked into the bathroom and started the shower up. As I waited for the water to warm up, I removed the bloody clothes from my body, throwing it in the trash can by the toilet. I hopped into the shower and I walked into the water, letting the dried blood fall off me and drop into the drain like a stream heading down a cliff. 

I glanced at my wrist and looked at the bracelet that I had on it. It was still glowing green. I guess it was a good thing from what the woman told me. I freshened up as quickly as I could. Once I got out, I got dressed as fast as I could. I made sure I had on two thick pads before I put on fresh underwear as well. 

I finished dressing up and I decided to take the trash out. I grabbed my purse and the trash bag before I walked out the apartment. Locking the door, I headed towards the trash bins that were outside. I tossed the trash bag over and turned around when I heard rocks crushing behind me.

“Are you Ms. Hernandez?” One of the guys asked me.

The two made me suspicious. Black armor suits on and their face covered due to the helmet they wore. They hovered over me like giants, both standing at least a good 7 ft or more. Not trying to piss them off in any shape or form, I nodded my head. 

“Come with us, please.” The other said, then the two turned around and walked back to the car in sync. 

I held my purse and followed behind them. As I was walking towards their car, I decided to take a look at my bracelet. The color had changed. Now it was a yellow color. 

“Get in.” One of the guys said.

I stopped and glanced back up at them. The car door was opened for me, but I could not move at all. I was so damn nervous and another color changed on the bracelet. My phone rang in my purse and I grabbed it out, then answered it.

“Hello?” I answered first.

“Mya, how are you?” Alice asked me. “What’s going on?”

“I’m sorry. I just got nervous when I saw a couple of men in helmets approaching me.”

“Oh, put me on speaker.”

I took the phone away from my ear and pressed the speaker button. Then, I held it up to them. 

“Okay.” I said.

“ Marko and Diez, remove the helmets.” Alice told them.

The two men did as they were told and I felt a lot better. However, I could not stop staring at them. They stared back at me with a smile on their face.

“Is that better?” Alice asked me.

I pulled the phone back and chuckled.

“Um, yes…” I said, trying not to drool. “You didn’t tell me they were gorgeous.”

“All of the men are. Didn’t  want to spoil the surprise. Now, come to the Seminar. I’m dying to meet you.”

“Okay.”

Alice hung up and I put my phone back in my purse before I got into the backseat of their car. The both of them hopped in and they drove away from my apartment.

Marko and Diez guided me into the building. As soon as I walked in, a female secretary walked up to us with a clipboard and a scanner in her hand.

“Wow, you are short.” She said to me. “Name?”

“Mya Hernandez.” I said, looking up at her. 

“Yes, you’re on the list. Can I see your bracelet?”

I held my wrist up to her and she pressed a button, making the bracelet make a beeping sound. Then, she wrote something on the clipboard.

“Okay, you’re all set. Marko and Diez, take her into the auditorium with the others, please.”

Marko and Diez walked ahead and I followed them to a room with double doors. The two grabbed the doors and opened them at the same time. As soon as I walked in, I was amazed at how big the room was. The room was white and there was a lot of people in it. There was food and drinks and my stomach growled at me since I forgot to eat. I looked around the placed and noticed that it was only women in the room. No men at all. That was a little strange for me. Looking behind me, I saw that Marko and Diez had already departed. I wondered if they were even allowed in the room. 

“Hi, are you Mya Hernandez?” A woman asked as soon as she stopped in front of me.

I glanced at her before nodding my head. She was very gorgeous. She had big pupils that were the sepia color. Her long, curly  hair was a red color. Freckles were dark on her pure milk complexion. And of course, she was taller than me.

“You are so short.” She said. “How cute! And you’re gorgeous, too.”

“Thank you so much. You’re very beautiful.”

“Aw, thank you. How was the ride? Did they treat you good?”

“The car ride was silent.”

“Yeah, you would have to make conversation with those two.”

My stomach growled again and the woman heard it. 

“Let’s get you something to eat.” She said.

We headed over to the tables and she handed me a plate. 

“So, are you Alice?” I asked the woman.

“Indeed, I am.” She said. 

“When will you tell me what I am supposed to do?”

I glanced at Alice and she smiled before looking back at me.

“You’ll learn at the Seminar.” She said.

“Is it bad?”

“No.”

I nodded and began to fill my plate with eggs, sausage patties, strips of bacon and fruits. I grabbed a plastic fork and I followed Alice over to a couple of empty seats. Right when we sat down, another female came over to us.

“Hi, how are you?!” She exclaimed, excitedly. “I’m Darla and you are?”

I extended my hand to her and she shook it.

“I’m Mya.” I told her.

“Nice to meet you.”

“And you, too.”

She waved and walked off. I looked at Alice, who just shook her head and began eating. 

“The Seminar will start in a minute. If you wouldn’t have made it, then you would’ve been disqualified. So, I’m happy you came.”

“I’m sorry for the delay. I had a lot of blood on me that I needed to extend the shower time.”

“So, you’re bleeding now?”

“Yes, heavily.”

“Very good. They are going to check, but I can actually tell that you’re on it. You look a little pale. Good thing I brought you some Iron pills. Do you need pain relievers as well. I have Tylenol PMs for you, but you have to take them when you get home.”

“Okay.”

“Take a couple of Iron pills now with your food. I’ll grab you some orange juice.”

I grabbed the bottled pills from Alice and she got up from the chair and walked off. I took out a couple of Iron pills before I put the bottles in my bag.

“Here you go.” Alice said as soon as she sat back down.

She handed me a tall glass of orange juice and I popped the two pills into my mouth, then guzzled down the drink. I placed the cup down on the ground by my feet, then I went back to eating. 

“So, are you nervous?” Alice asked me.

“A little.” I replied. 

“That’s understandable.”

“When will I see the money?”

“After you agree to doing the program.”

“I thought I already did that?”

“This is the official agreement where a contract is to be signed.”

There was so much more that I wanted to know, but I couldn’t ask it. 

“Ladies, can I ask that you sit down close to the stage?” A woman asked.

I got up from the seat and headed over to the closest chair. My seat was right next to Darla. When I sat down, she gave me a small smile before she turned back to the front. 

“Thank you.” The woman said. “Let me introduce myself before we begin. I am Brook Blackwind, the owner of this company. Well, I own it with my husband, Daniel Blackwind. He was the true founder of this facility.”

A man walked out with a black suit on. He stood next to his wife. She stopped talking and moved out of the way so her husband can speak.

“I know a lot of you ladies have questions.” Daniel said. “So, we’ll answer them. Is the 50,000 dollars real? Yes, it is. You will see it in your account at the end of the day. However, there is a condition. You will only get the money if you accept the contract of the program.”

Darla raised her hand and Daniel smirked.

“You want to know what are you agreeing to?” He asked her.

“Yes.” Darla said.

Daniel nodded before he pointed to the left of us.

“In that room, there is a lot of men going through the same thing. However, they don’t need the money. They are participating in the program for two things: A wife and a person to bare them children.’

I turned my attention to Alice, who was standing near the stage with the other assistants. She glanced at me and smiled. 

“This program is looking for women to become that.” Brook said. “Is there anybody who took the pills that they received.”

I raised my hand along with the rest of the participants. Daniel nodded as he glanced around the room. 

“Since I can tell a lot of you are concerned, I would like to change the schedule up. The seminar was just about to be all talking, but maybe you ladies would like to see what it is we do and meet the people who will be working with you during the program. So please, follow my wife and I out.”

That made me feel a lot better. A wife and a mother? That scared me completely. I never been any of those things. Hell, I never crossed the first base yet. Daniel and Brook walked to the doors and knocked on it. The doors opened and two guards stood in front of it, holding it open for us. We all walked out and we scanned our surrounding. Daniel turned to us.

“So, does anybody want to know what H.A. stand for?” He asked.

“I’ve been trying to figure it out for a minute.” Another girl said.

“Ha, nobody can. Since it’s a secret place, we keep the knowing in the minimum. But, I’ll tell you guys. H.A. stands for the Hybrid Association.”

“Why is it named that?” I asked.

Daniel smiled and stopped at the first window. He flipped the switch and we all turned to it. 

“UGHH!” A man shouted in the room.

He slammed into the wall behind him, bleeding at the mouth. His chest was moving abnormally like something was trying to force its way through. Women around me, gasped in fear as they watched him go through that pain.

“What are the cross species?” I asked him.

“Vampire and Lycan.” He said.

“Will you guys kill us?” Darla asked.

I’m happy she asked before I did. Brook smiled and shook her head.

“We have blood banks in the facility for them when they are new.”

“How are we supposed to be wife to them if they can’t control their blood lust and murder streaks?” Another person in the group asked. 

“He’s not going out.” I told her.

“She just said it. We train them and prepare them.”

“So, the guys you are matching us with: Are they trained?”

“Very well.” Brooke answered.

I was beginning to feel at ease. Daniel snapped his fingers at us before him and his wife walked forward.

“Would you like to see an actual birth today?” Brooke asked.

“Somebody is delivering today?” Daniel asked.

“Chanel is.”

“Okay, let’s go to the birthing area.” 

We followed them and soon we were in front of another window. A woman laid on the bed with many nurses and a doctor around her. A guy in a elegant suit stood beside her, holding her hand as she pushed, constantly.

“Our men know what it is like to have children.” Brooke explained. “They will be supportive every step of the way.”

“We tortured them with endless videos of birth.”

“Is there a water birth here?” Darla asked. 

“Definitely and if C-Section is needed, then we have the doctors for that as well.” Daniel said.

“However, there is no pain medication here for labor and delivery.”

“No epidurals? What if we can’t take the pain?”

“Water birth is closer to a painless delivery.” I told her.

I stared at the window, watching the scene before us. She cried, holding on to the guy beside her. Her legs parted wide as the doctors told her to push. I watched in admiration as that woman delivered her baby without the help with medication. She was strong in my eyes.

“Let’s move on.” Brooke told us.

Everybody left, except me. I was still fascinated with the birth of a child. When the doctor lifted her baby up and placed it on her stomach, I couldn’t help it. I shedded a tear like I was in there with her. Her husband leaned forward and kissed the top of her head before he turned his attention to their child. 

“What are you thinking?” Brooke asked me, startling me, completely.

“It’s a beautiful scene.” I told her.

“It is. This is her third child by him.”

“Third?”

“Yes. She’s been with him for three years.”

“Wow.”

“A lot of men here… In this program want the family life. However, there are men that come to us to help them find it, that includes Daniel and I’s boys.”

I glanced at Brooke and she smiled before extending her hand to the right. I nodded and walked past her to get to the other women I was in the group with. Once I caught up to them, we continued down the hall.

“So, is anybody not sure about this?” Daniel asked as we continued down the long hall. 

“So, are we surrogates to the men?” Darla asked. “Will we have our eggs stabbed with needles to get the sperm in it?”

“No, we don’t do that.” Brooke said. “We like to do things… Naturally.”

Daniel stopped in front of the window and smiled at us.

“Have a look.” He said.

We turned our attention to the window. The guy in the room, I had recognized. Diez got up with nothing on. He walked to the dark skin girl, who was sitting on the bed, glancing down at her hands.

“Diez is a member of this as well?” I asked Daniel.

“You know him?” He asked.

“He picked her up from her house to bring her here.” Alice explained. 

“Ah.. Yes, he had an… Intimate appointment with a participant today.’

Diez was so handsome to me. His body looked smoothed  out when he was close to us. He placed his hand under the girl’s chin, gently forcing her to look up at him. The girl got off the bed and their lips locked, immediately. 

“God, he’s so handsome.” Darla sighed.

“He is very beautiful to watch.” Brooke agreed. “Our men are to be as gentle to the mortal bodies as we teach them. They know that their strength is maxed out compared to you, mortals.”

“Will we get to meet the guys you matched us with?” I asked.

“Yes.” Daniel said. “But, not today. After you guys stop bleeding, I will set up a Meet N’ Greet. It will definitely be next weekend, though. That Saturday, to be exact.”

“Okay.” I said.

“Let’s continue.” Brooke said. “Afterwards, we are going to talk to you ladies and have you sign the contract for those who would like to continue the program.”

I glanced at Alice and she nodded at me before she walked off with the other assistants.

“Mya Hernandez?” Brooke called my name.

I turned to her and she smiled at me.

“You’ll be first.” She told me. “The rest of you can go back to the waiting room.”

Everybody left, except for me and Alice. Alice grabbed my arm and led me into the room that Brooke was pointing to. 

“Don’t worry.” Alice whispered to me. “They’re good people and very good friends of mines.”

I nodded and we both walked inside.
