CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Lily, Mark, Ellen, and Kate returned to the house so that the police wouldn’t question them. Lily had refused to leave in the beginning, and Mark had tried his best to persuade her that Ian would be all right.
However, he didn’t succeed in making her come home with him until he had assured her that if the police found him there, he would get into trouble. That turned the scales in his favor. She didn’t know how to leave that place faster.
Most of the others spent a part of that night with the police answering questions. As they didn’t deviate from their stories, the police had to let them go, and they managed to get back to Lily’s place a little before dawn.
