"s**t!!."
Those were the first words a child said in a new world.
"I was naïve."
He said while looking around. Sheyken's thoughts vanished when he saw the scenery around him. A lush colorful field was all around him. He was awestruck.
'Maybe this isn't the Benevolent woods Apophis was talking about.'
He thought.
He smelled the flowers which looked like something out of a fairy tale, but while he was moving around, one tried to tire its roots around him while trying to suck on his foot. When his foot was in the plant's mouth, the boot he was wearing started to ever so slightly dissolve. He looked around and saw a dagger where he was laying when he woke up. He quickly snatched it and sliced the plant to pieces. He was lucky that it was only a foot long and seemed to like feet, otherwise, if it had grabbed hold where his skin was exposed, it would have dissolved it like his boot. He noticed that his strikes whereas polished as they were when he was on Earth, just that he was still not used to his body. He just woke up after all.
He settled down and took a look at himself. He was wearing a white T-shirt with a buttoned-up v shape collar, brown trousers, and black boots. Everything he was wearing was worn and tone especially his T-shirt. It was tone on the right side of his stomach and it was bloodier on that side.
'It seemed the child I synchronized with had a wound on his belly, he might have run this way to get away from his attacker.'
He thought.
The rest of his clothes seemed to have black ash. He could not understand where or how the child got in contact with it. Maybe when he goes to the city he would find out.
He went to sit where he woke up since it was safer there and turned to his first thoughts of when he woke up. He smacked his forehead.
"i***t, i***t, i***t!."
He dreaded the fact that he got full of himself. When he chose his Guide, he should have let Apophis explain everything. He was going to choose Intuition no matter what, but he should have listened to the explanation of how they all worked. They might be different from the games and novels he played and read. It might be even the difference between life and death if he took the others lightly.
At the same time, he thought it was for the best, otherwise, he wouldn't have gotten the advice and warnings from Apophis which were equally important. He knew he couldn't be spoon-fed everything, as a matter of fact, he wasn't that kind of person. He wasn't one to cry over spilled milk.
"Lets me remember what I know about each of them and take it from there."
He thought out loud.
"A system can let its user look at his own and his opponent's skills, vitality and mana among other statuses and it represents them with status bars or numbers. This can allow the user to know what his lacking and where to improve. To see his opponent's status, they would have to be on his level or lower. Maybe he could even see the opponent's status bars for higher leveled opponents too. It would be better to overestimate than underestimate."
He said talking to himself. This allowed him to focus better.
"An A.I would do the same thing but by calculating and amassing data about the opponent and its user. it can also run simulations. I bet all those who chose an A.I are lonely bustards wanting someone to talk to and feel good about themselves. Yep!!! These are all cheats. For a world that has laws about not wanting other planet's technology I wonder why it allows this. Maybe it doesn't matter if it only affects you or the Guardians found a loophole."
"Either way, I am in deep s**t. I can't hide my power and skills from those guys. My only trump card will be my martial arts against them. I can do what they can do with my intuition and it will serve me better while I'm fighting because I don't have to switch my attention from my opponent to check my or his status bar or listen to a voice telling me what to do. Guess I really need to get stronger. My intuition is already absorbing all the things around me, I am already sensing, seeing, and smelling things in a different light, but I can't feel any mana. I need to understand the way this world works really fast."
Sheyken said standing up.
"let's start with the item I got from Apophis."
He looked at his hands but there was nothing. He was expecting it to be around his fingers but it wasn't there. He looked around his neck not finding anything, so he checked around where he was and where he killed the feet eating plant but still did not find anything. He was starting to panic thinking he lost it. He thought about it and assured himself that Apophis wouldn't play around like this. He calmed his anxiety, concentrated on the item and its functions.
After a while, a black ruby the size of a teardrop appeared on his right palm. You had to be looking for it in order to see it. He breathed a sigh of relief but he was questioning if it was what he thought it was.
He wanted a Storage ring. Every person who plays games knows how impotent a Storage ring or item is in any game. It did not require you to be any stronger than any human which is why he chose it without hesitation.
He concentrated on his right palm, then on the ruby. His mind took a look inside it and he couldn't help but smile. It seemed he will not have to buy any Storage ring anytime soon.... no....he will not have to buy any Storage ring ever. The space inside was just enormous. He did not even estimate it. Inside was already some food, lots of it. He will not go hungry anytime soon. At the corner, there was a small container of oil labeled moisturizer.
'How is that going to last me a lifetime.'
He thought.
Since the small ruby pleasantly surprised him, he got his hopes up and concentrated on the bottle. He had watched too many anime, for him not to know how a storage device worked would be a sin to the anime gods. Instead of the container, an oily liquid drifted out from the ruby and into his hands in seconds. He rubbed all of it on his face and felt a soothing sensation. He smiled joyfully. His Intuition was telling him that the oil had some hidden properties. He took a note of it and would look at it later. The oil inside the container was still full. It seemed like it refilled itself when the oil is used. He stopped concentrating and the ruby vanished under his skin.
'That is why I couldn't find it.'
After that thought, he moved to his Blessing.
"Telekinesis !!!!.....finally my dream came true!!....With this I can achieve my dream."
Sheyken said out loud like he was telling the world.
"hahaha.....just wait and see....anyone who wants a piece of me will end up in pieces".
He said with an evil laugh while rubbing his hands together like a villain.
"Let's see how it works."
Sheyken tried to focus his mind on a leaf that was next to him. At first, nothing happened.....then after a minute, something happened, which was him giving up. His veins were starting to pop. His intuition was telling him he had to train this skill in order to develop it. He gave up, feeling dejected like a kid licking an ice cream only for it to fall onto the ground.
He continued on to the other two skills Apophis said he was born with. As soon as he thought about them, two names popped up on the left side of his eyes. It suppressed Sheyken. It looked like a menu that you would see if you had a System, but it only had two skills and an explanation next to them. He focused on the words and read them.
Death - Will activate automatically when you need it the most and can only be activated once.
Sinister - Will activate automatically when you need it the most and can only be activated once. - This skill will evolve according to your emotions and power level until the day it is activated.
When he finished reading the skills, he did not know either to be happy or scared. One-time use skills tend to be overpowered and the words whereas scary to the user as to the person receiving their full-on power. Apophis did say he tweaked them a little. Sheyken took it as him looking out for him. The only thing he did not like was that he had to wait for the skill to automatically activate to know what it does. There was nothing he could do about them, so he moved on to the next thing on his to-do list, exploring the woods.
He still had not taken a look at his face yet. Apophis said it was safe for 200 meters around the spot he was standing at right now and he wanted to find a river that can act as a mirror. He stopped thinking about the skills and they disappeared from view.
He set off a bit later only to come back to the same spot after 15 minutes of exploring, sweating bullets, and almost dying twice.
"Safe my five-year-old arse!!, if Apophis says this is safe, then how will it be after I leave the 200 meters range?"
Sheyken was shaking. His five-year-old body was acting its age.
