Benevolent woods

'I miss earth already! I haven't been here for more than 30 minutes but one of my boots is almost corroded through, I almost died twice and I could swear that some of the plants like s******g my arse. Apophis did say he was one for corporal punishment, maybe he sent those ass s******g plants to s***k me thinking I'm not grateful for the Blessing and skills. Thank you, your majesty! I love the skills, infect, I shall use them like a grandmaster. So, please don't send any of those arse s******g plants ever again!!" Sheyken said while looking upwards, noticing the sky looked as blue as on Earth. He knew Apophis was joking about the s******g, but he needed to vent out his frustration. His buttocks were still hurting. Minutes ago, when he set out to scout the area, it first went well. He could make out the feet eating plants from earlier and would avoid them. They were a foot long and looked like the carnivorous plants from Earth, green with a tinge of red especially the inner part of their mouth, and with hinged lobes at the end of each leaf. He could avoid them easily. About 5 minutes into his scouting, a root popped out of nowhere, attacking him head on. It was as thick as a whip and fast. He was grabbing the dagger in his right hand, ready for such a situation. You couldn't tell the difference between the dagger and a Cinquedea, which was a long dagger developed in Northern Italy. It was a renaissance weapon, its name meaning 'five fingers' because that is supposed to be the width below the handguard. It was a heavy weapon that was carried in place of a knife or sword and the attack was made with the side of the wide blade rather than the point. The dagger was a mirror image of it. Sheyken was around 115 cm tall while the dagger was 45 cm long. To him, it was like he was holding a sword. What was amazing was that he could hold it with one hand without any problem. He was sure that this weapon was not the five-year-old's. He thought he must have stolen it or it was a family heirloom since it was very well made. As he was cutting down the root coming straight at him, another root came from behind attacking him. With his body not being able to react fast enough even though he could perceive the attack, he could not block or move out the way in time. The root whipped his buttocks so hard such that a girly scream almost escaped his lips. He mastered out all of his manliness and chopped the root to pieces, but the next moment a bigger carnivorous plant than the feet eater came at him from the side at the same time. This one was as tall as him with it's leafy head as big as a grown man's. He was inches away from having his whole head in it's mouth. He gritted his teeth, still wanting to rub his buttocks and wishing the pain away but instead thrusting the dagger upwards, slicing the plant's head from its main body. Almost dying minutes after you reincarnate into a different world made his senses sharper. After the feeling of having his buttocks whipped subsided, he decided to carry on while being extra careful. After walking for a while, he saw a white tree with white leaves, its branches looking like roots. He had not noticed it because of the other trees around blocking his view. He was about three meters away from it when he saw it and knew something was wrong. He turned around as soon as he saw it, but unfortunately for him, a branch was already creeping towards him on the ground to snatch him up. It grabbed one of his legs lifting him from the ground. Sheyken acted swiftly, cutting the branch and falling onto the ground. He raised his head to see the tree's mouth opening wide and inhaling inwards. Grabbing on a nearby branch for dear life, he managed not to get pulled into the tree's mouth. At this point, he had enough of his adventure and ran back to where he came from. On his way back, he came across the same kind of carnivorous plant that almost bit his head off a while ago. This time he was expecting the same kind of attack which he managed to dodge, but as he blocked the second attack, instead of the plant trying to bite him, a third attack with another root came from behind him again, whipping his buttocks. This time if you could see his eyes, you would almost see tears wanting to make their way down them. He cursed whoever left these plants to roam this planet and cut off the head of the plant coming to bite his head. When he reached the place which he now called a safe zone, he let out a sigh of relief and also let out his frustration. He was a soldier and never knew such humiliation in his life. He figured out the problem right away. He was not used to his body and it could never compare to a grown man's. He knew the attacks were coming but could not make his body react in time. The other obvious concern was that he trained to fight humans all his life and not monsters. He had to change the way he thought and fought real fast. 'Why did Apophis choose this spot to bring me into this world? He could have found a much safer place and I am sure this was not the only five-year-old boy to die at the time.' Sheyken thought while taking a seat, putting his palm on his lips and drinking the water coming out of the storage item. At that moment his eyes flashed with understanding. 'I have to change my mindset and fighting style in order to fight both monsters and humans. Apophis said the spell around this place will last for 3 months. There seem to be only plant monsters around here and I can handle them to an extent. Plus, I have lots of food and water in my storage ring. Maybe he wanted me to train and get used to my body for the next 3 months.' Apophis sitting on his sofa, eating popcorn while watching Sheyken on a big screen TV somewhere in the universe smacked his forehead because he had never thought of that. The spell would last for three months because the tiniest left-over Luminescence around the area would take 3 months to disappear into mana, otherwise, if the was no countermeasure, the monsters around would evolve. He would take the credit Sheyken handed him though and never let out the truth. Sheyken took out a piece of meat and started eating. He would rest for the rest of the day and start what he knows best tomorrow, which was training. He looked at his body and noticed that it was not toned at all. It was just a typical five-year-old body. It was amazing he could react to those attacks earlier. He cleaned up and decided he would start right away. He would do sit-ups, pushups, and squats for the day. After he was done, he was so tired that he just laid on the ground not able to move. His body was out of shape. Not that he was expecting a five-year-old to have a body of an athlete, but to be in the best condition it could be. Night came and the sky changed from blue to colorful like the northern lights. It seemed magical. There were a lot of stars and the moon was purple. He shut his eyes but stayed alert. His body was there for days and nothing happened to it, but he wasn't going to rely on the unknown if he was to survive in this new world. The next day he opened his eyes to find that the sun was about to rise. It looked like the time was not that different than Earth's. He would always wake up before the sun rises. The first thing he wanted to start with was to train his Telekinesis skill. He had read about the subject many times and even tried to develop it on Earth with miserable results. The first thing according to his findings was to believe that Telekinesis is possible. He had that in bucket loads. He believed it was there even when he did not have the skill yet. Second was to meditate daily to improve his mental discipline. While slowly breathing in and out, as he exhaled, he imagined the stars fading away except for a single sun that grows brighter and brighter. Continuing to control his breathing and, without straining, he concentrated on focusing his mind on a single thought. Some people are accustomed to doing many things at once and it might take time for them to hone what Sheyken had done, but he had been practicing this for many years. He tried to visualize the leaf from yesterday, its shape, color, its hardness and softness, its scent, and all the other small details. This was simpler than when he practiced on Earth because of his Intuition improving every single expect of himself. He skipped all the other steps and tried to reach that object with his mind. This was the part he was trying to execute the day before. He visualizes clearly how he wanted to manipulate the leaf, seeing it fly all around him in his mind and then he focused on feeling the energy flowing through his body. He kept on meditating for almost an hour until his mind was so tired, he was getting a headache. After meditating, he started his body training, the same as last night. It would do for now since his body was still growing. After the sets of pushups, sit-ups, and squats, he started polishing his skills with the dagger and his body. When he was done with that, he would eat and then start the process again until his body would not take anymore. Making sure to eat more protein each time he was hungry. He did not want to hinder his body's development. With each day his muscles getting sorer and sorer, he would stop for a day or two and continued afterward. He kept this up for almost a month with no plant coming near him. By this time, you could say he was well on being on his way to be the most well-toned five-year-old by Earth's standards. The area was like a recovery room, making his muscles recover much faster. His Telekinesis had made some improvements, making him smile each time he thought about it. Now, he could extend the energy outside his body but still could not affect any matter with it. Seeing his progress made the time he spent on Earth training his meditation worth it. Today he was done with his first set of training. He had to spice it up if he wanted to progress faster and so, it was time to go hurting some arse whipping Carnivorous plants. He always liked the saying 'Revenge is sweet' and he was going to dish it out in bucket loads. They were his mortal enemies ever since the day they touched his buttocks.
