It's been four weeks exactly from when they fell and finally his plaster is coming off today. Carol and Christian are super excited to meet again. Believe it or not, they haven't met for a month now. Christian and I got into a spat when he was wondering where was Carol and I had to tell him everything. I am going back home with Christian. My house this time and he is carrying balloons, chocolates, and a huge ass bear for Carol. He is jumping like a kid in the zoo.
"Can you like sit still?" I am driving and he is so excited. It's annoying.
"Shut up you jerk. I am meeting her after thirty whole days! Screw you and your punishments!"
"I dunno about my punishments but you sure can screw me. It has been quite some time now... "
I see him roll his eyes and can't help but laugh.
I stop the car outside my house and he jumps out and is off. Really?
By the time I am inside I see Christian on his knees and Carol hugging him and crying. I quietly click a picture. They look adorable.
"Hush... It's okay.. See I am all fine now." He stands up and picks her up in his arms. I don't think he should, I mean he just got his plaster off but I keep shut. Carol carries her balloons inside. The teddy and the chocolate are already forgotten.
I take them inside. We got pizza for lunch on the way home and obviously ice creams.
After lunch, the three of us snuggle and watch a movie.
"Hey! That was for me!" Carol says.
I am having her chocolates.
"What? I found that near the door. Finders keepers." I poke my tongue out at her.
"Wait till I find your car keys or your phone lying around daddy... " See? How feisty our Carol is?
Christian smirks.
"Gawd! If you wanted some all you had to do was ask nicely!" I give her half the bar and she grins.
After the movie, Carol gives Christian all the 'get well soon' cards and drawings she made for him all these days. He reads out each one of them aloud. It's endearing. I am so happy that Carol has learned to appreciate people in her life. They hug. They seemed to have really missed each other.
"Yeah, go on. Nobody needs to hug me now." I tease them.
They smile and pull me in for a group hug. I feel so content. Life's good
