First day of school

My mom laughed and laughed and said, "Oh, honey, I know you would." I kissed my mom on the cheek and said good night to head to bed. Tomorrow was school, and I really wanted to get a good night's rest. I crawled into bed, and before I knew it, I was already drifting into dreamland.

I was up very early from the anxiety of starting a new school. I was lying in bed thinking back about Stacy and Clarissa, and school will be starting for them today as well. I couldn't help but wonder how they would cope without me. I know I won't be able to cope without my bestie. I was beginning to adjust and accept the place, but I still miss my home and friends.

My mom knocked at the door and asked if she could come in. With her werewolf ability, I'm pretty sure she knew I was awake.

Yes, I'm awake, mom. My mother entered the room and climbed into my bed. We haven't slept in each other's beds since I was ten years old. It was nice back then when she would tell me this bunch of stories about werewolves and the moon goddess and how they worship the moon goddess. I guess it wasn't just a story.

"It's so early, Amelia. Are you having first day of school jitters?"

"Sort of, it's just frightening not knowing what to expect at a new school. What if I get into some werewolf's way and they eat me? I'm so scared, mom, that it's freaking me out. What if they find out I'm human and torture me".

"Honey, that will never happen. I mean, try not to get into any trouble, but it's against our law to kill humans. We have a counselor who decides things like that, and if any werewolf disobeys, they will be killed or exiled, and besides you, you will have Josh to look out for you and Aerial too".

"Yeah, those too who act like they love sick puppies".

Mom and I laughed. She kissed my head and held me close to her, and it felt right; I felt like I did when I was ten.

"Dad was your mate when he was alive, but what about now? Could you fall in love with another person?"

"Well, honey, you see, I love your dad so much; he is my everything apart from you and your brother, so I couldn't bring myself to accept anyone after your father's death, and besides, the moon goddess decides those things for us; she was the one who made your dad for me and me for him, but yes, I have heard of wolves having second chance mates; why do you ask?".

"It's just that I don't want you to be lonely, you know,but it's so cool you love dad that much, mom. Um, do you think I will have a soulmate"?

"Oh, honey, yes, you will have a soulmate; we all do".

"But what if he turns out to be, you know, a werewolf, just like you and dad".

"Well, baby, we will have to accept it; your soulmate is not just your weakness but also your strength, honey, and I wouldn't stand in the way of true love".

"But what if I don't want that?"

"Oh, for God's sake, Amelia Henry, get up for school".

We both laughed at my annoying questions, mom went downstairs to get breakfast ready and i got ready for my first day of school. I picked out my white skinny jeans and paired them with a purple crop top and a purple and white converse. The color purple was my favorite. My accessories were minimal, just a pair of diamond knobs and my silver necklace with a heart-shaped pendant. I gave myself one last look before I headed out of my bedroom and downstairs to have breakfast. Josh and Aerial were already in the kitchen stuffing their faces. I walked over to my regular seating spot and ate breakfast, Ms. Juliet placed it in front of me. After thanking her, I filled my tummy with every piece of pancake and sausage on my plate. After we were all finished, mom and Ms. Juliet followed us outside where Mr. Tavaican was waiting in a black Porsche to take us to school.

"And that's our ride to school; I had to ask".

"That's what I'm talking about; thank you, mom", Josh said, grinning.

"Thank you, Mrs. Henry; see you later, mom; later, Mrs. Henry".

"See you guys later, and Aerial, please call me Adalind; you are my son's mate; you can drop the formalities".

"Okay, Mrs. SORRY, old habits, Adalind."

"You guys need to leave now before you're all late on your first day. Bye, be safe", Ms. Juliet said.

We climb onto our sleek, sexy ride to school. I couldn't believe that I was going to school in a Porsche. Oh my god, if the girls could see me now, they wouldn't believe their eyes. I took a few pictures and saved them for later to post on my status. It was a quiet drive to school and awkward too. Josh kept this weird possessive look on his face that he kept giving to Aerial, and she just kept smiling and blushing. Talk about creepy.

"Okay, children, this is your stop", the old geezer said.

I looked out to see everyone staring at the car. I was so nervous about getting out, so I motioned for Josh to go first, and he helped Aerial out, followed by me. Everyone was staring, but there was just this intensity behind me, as if someone was trying to bore a hole into my head with their eyes. I turned to see who it was, but there was no one. I looked around to see Josh and Aerial hand in hand making their way up the school steps. I started walking fast to catch up to them.

Good morning and welcome to Vienna High. I'm Mrs. Phost, and these are the necessary documents you received on your first day here. They include a map of the school and your homeroom, as well as classes and lecturers. Please have fun while getting lots of book work done. We don't tolerate tardiness or violence, so be on your best behavior. If you are having any problems, you can find me at the administration office. And with that, the lady walked away and left us there standing. So good, Aerial and I have all our classes together, so Josh said his goodbye to Aerial after he gave me a firm look, which was followed by the word "stay out of trouble". Some nerve, what trouble could I cause in a school filled with werewolves? As Aerial and I made our way to our first class, it felt great to have her with me; at least I don't feel odd.

I walked into the class and every student turned to look at us, but what was more confusing was that two boys from my class, twins to be exact, stood up and said the words 'MINES' both at the same time. I didn't understand, but from the look I got from Aerial, I could tell this was trouble.
