ZURI’S POV
I still couldn’t believe that April ignored me just like that. After everything that we did last night? She is such a user and a pretender. I thought that she liked me. It seems like I was very wrong about her. She is not whom I think she is.
She is just like the rest of the people who are just liars. Today they say something and tomorrow they act different.
Fuck her, who says I need her to talk to me. I have Mark right here who loves me and would literally do anything for me.
“You seem a little bit off,” Mark noticed as we headed back to the office.
“I am fine baby, just worried about the agency. I hope they will agree for me to change April as my roommate,” I have to forget that I ever met someone like her in the first place. I don’t need her in my life.
“I am waiting here, okay baby. Everything will be okay. Good luck,” Mark gave me a peck before allowing me to walk into the office.
“Welcome Zuri Jenner,” The panel greeted me.
“Hello,” I answered with an uncomfortable smile.
“So, what is it that you want to talk to us about?” One of the ladies with the tag Ruby, asked me.
“I want my roommate changed.” I was frank with them hoping that they would help me out in this.
“Who is your roommate?” They were now focused on me.
“April,” I told them and Ruby‘s eyebrows were arched up-wards in confusion.
“April? But why?” Ruby was quite inquisitive much to my discomfort.
“We don’t get along, I was hoping to get someone whom we would get along, “I explained.
“Listen here Miss. Jenner. April Lancaster is a great model and if I were you, I would want to learn a few things from her. Even more than ever, if you want a future in modelling, please get along with her,” Why are they defending her?
I couldn’t understand.
“But-“I wanted to contradict.
“You two will be together and that is it. You can leave now,” Ruby was quite clear and I had to stop myself from cussing loudly.
Hanging my handbag over my shoulder, I stood up and left the office. I shouldn’t have come here in the first place.
“Baby, how did it go?” Mark asked me as he rushed to follow me out. I was too disappointed to even talk right now.
“They are forcing me to share a room with her. I can’t imagine that she makes a good model even with that bad attitude of hers,” I couldn’t help but wonder. This really pissed me off.
“B-Baby, come on, it will just be for a few days. Maybe we judged her too quickly,” Mark held my hand and assured me that.
“Huh,” I sighed.
“Come on, just stick with her, for the sake of your career, okay?” Mark asked that of me.
“Okay, it is not like I have any other option,” I had to agree.
“Great, let us go back to the hotel and we can have you move in once again,” Mark told me as we boarded the cab that will take us back to the hotel room.
**
Mark helped me settle in back in the hotel room that we shared. Thank God April was not in, I was still mad at her and I don’t know how I would face her.
When we were done organizing my things, we decided to grab some lunch at the restaurant for we were starving.
“What can we get you miss?” The waiter asked me once we were all settled at the table.
“Chicken wings and fries. No sauce please. Thank you,” I ordered.
“What about you sir?” He turned to Mark scribbling something on his notebook.
“I can’t believe that we are here now,” Mark told me once the waiter left to get our orders.
“Me too. Truly, work hard and consistency pays. Who knew that I could model at Paris fashion week that is starting tomorrow,” This is a dream come true for me.
“I am happy for you my love,” He grinned just as the waiter served us our orders.
“Me too baby, by the way, when are you going to go for your collage interview?” I asked him.
“I was planning on going this evening. Anyway, since you have issues with your roommate, I will stay, just in case.” He offered.
“Come on, don’t stay, I will be fine. You need to do that interview as fast as possible,” He shouldn’t stop chasing his dreams for my case.
“B-But,” He stammered.
“No buts baby, I will be fine. You will have to leave after lunch. You need to do this, you got this!” I cajoled.
“Okay baby, I got this. I will go then, if you promise to be fine,” He couldn’t stop caring about me, could he?
“I will be fine,” I told him.
***
“Call me in case you need anything okay?” Mark asked that of me when I escorted him out so that he would go for his college interview.
“Okay baby, I will. I wish you the best,” I told him and he pulled me to a tight hug.
“I love you baby, I will be back before you know it, okay?” He kissed me on the hair.
“I love you too,” I truly do.
“Shall we?” The cab driver interrupted us.
“Of course,” I watched Mark get into the cab. I waved till they were out of my sight.
Huh! Now I have to face that liar all by myself. How could she possibly lie that she likes me yet the next day I find her kissing someone else in public? She is such a stupid liar.
The thought of her alone pissed me off.
She is not around, I can focus on other things. I hope that she comes back late at night when I am already asleep.
I went through my i********: newsfeed in the elevator and as I walked to the room that we shared.
I was too engrossed in watching a vine that I did not realize that she was sleeping on her bed.
I was going to ignore her. Taking my earphones from my purse, I connected it with my phone and continued watching the vine I was watching some time earlier.
After watching several vines, I got exhausted and I wanted to sleep. Tomorrow is a big day and I needed to have enough rest.
When I took my earphones off is when I heard her crying. She is such a drama queen. I thought at first that she was pretending but then I heard her sobbing loudly.
“What the heck is wrong with her?”
As a normal human being, I needed to find out what was wrong with her. That is why I went to see her.
Oh no, she had been crying for way too long, I could tell that when she turned to face me making me see her swollen eyes.
“April, is everything alright? You can talk to me,” I begged her. I wished she could say something. I hate seeing people in pain, and even if she was a liar, she was no exception.
“D-don’t touch me! Leave alone. Stop pretending that you care!” She shouted this at me amidst pushing me away.
Oh no! This is worse than I thought.
