"Francis..." Cora shook her head and immediately opened his room door, running out. She did not want to spend any more time with him in his room, knowing he would try to take her to bed, and she was still irritated from seeing him with Ivy.
Cora walked out to the living room, where Amanda smiled apologetically at her, but Cora shook her head and immediately left the house without saying anything to Amanda.
Cora went back home to her parents' house to arrange her box of clothes, as the sun was already shining brightly in the sky. She knew her parents would not be back from the farm until evening.
Later that evening...
Carolina arrived in the village and told Mark the directions to her family's house, saying, "Drive that turn, follow the next street."
Soon, Mark arrived in front of Cora's family house, driving into the open compound and parking.
Earlier that morning, Cora had finished arranging her box of clothes in her room and had her lunch before falling asleep on her bed. She was awakened by the sound of the car driving into her father's open compound and parking, as she knew her parents did not have a car.
Cora immediately stood up from her bed and rushed out of the house to find out who the car belonged to. She gasped as she saw her elder sister, Carolina, elegantly stepping down from the car.
Carolina looked beautiful and chubby in her sparkling, long milk-colored gown, making her appear like a billionaire's wife.
"Sister!" Cora exclaimed, rushing down from the house and embracing Carolina warmly, having missed her.
"I've missed you, big sis," Cora said amid their hug, and Carolina smiled, replying, "I've missed you too, baby sis."
Cora smiled as she finally pulled away from the tight hug, admiring Carolina's new look and long gown, staring at the expensive black shoes she wore.
Cora couldn't believe the pretty woman standing before her was her elder sister, and she never knew Martin was a billionaire to the extent of Carolina arriving home in an expensive car.
Carolina maintained a low profile despite being a billionaire's wife, calm and caring, and did not show off or brag to let others know she was Martin Elliott's wife.
Cora's brown eyes shifted from admiring Carolina, whom she had not seen for over a year since her marriage to Martin, to admiring the beautiful black SUV parked in their open compound.
Cora saw a handsome light-skinned man seated in the driver's seat, and he stepped out of the car.
Cora became visibly jealous, seeing how beautiful and sophisticated her elder sister now looked, as Carolina had not visited their village even once since marrying Martin, though she usually sent money to Cora and their parents to cater for their needs.
"Where are Mama and Papa?" Carolina finally asked, walking up to the house front to search for their parents, as the house was still silent.
The sun was gradually setting. Cora moved to admire the black SUV further, not immediately answering Carolina's question, folding her arms around her chest as she continued staring at the vehicle in surprise.
Cora stared at Mark, who had stepped out of the SUV, locking the car door and turning to greet her, "Good evening."
"Good evening... Yes, you are?" Cora asked, her brown eyes scanning him from head to toe. Mark also looked charming in his light blue shirt and black pants, and he calmly introduced himself, "I'm Mark Thompson, Madam Carolina's personal driver and bodyguard."
"Madam?" Cora repeated the word, unable to believe that the handsome light-skinned man she was seeing was "Madam" to Carolina.
Cora remembered the day she had seen Martin. He dressed so casually and was so dark-skinned that she had narrowed her eyes, thinking he was too old to marry her elder sister, as Martin was so tall while Carolina was a petite.
Cora would admit that Martin was handsome, no doubt, but he was far older than her elder sister, and he did not brag about being rich, nor did his parents.
Cora's eyes continued scanning Mark, not minding that he was older than her, and she bit her index finger, lost in her thoughts, imagining how truly rich Martin must be.
Cora thought of snatching Martin when she got to the city, as she couldn't believe her eyes that she was in the village fighting for her poor boyfriend, while Carolina was in the city enjoying her husband's wealth.
"Cora! Where are Mama and Papa? As none of them are in the house?" Carolina asked again, breaking Cora out of her silly thoughts. She stared back at Carolina, who stood at the house's front,
and Cora could see how chubby and cute Carolina now looked, her breasts now fuller and larger than Cora's.
"They're not yet back from the farmland. I thought I told you earlier on the phone call," Cora replied with a frown, and Carolina gasped, "Oh, I forgot you mentioned that."
Cora sighed and walked back to the house to meet her sister, but just then, their parents arrived.
"Carolina!" Their mother, Mrs. Lucy Brown, called out to Carolina first, dropping the basket of food items she had brought from the farmland and rushing to embrace her daughter.
"Mama!" Carolina exclaimed, hugging her mother.
"Wow, my beautiful princess, see how lovely and beautiful you're now looking. Martin is really taking good care of you," Mrs. Lucy smiled, gushing over her firstborn. Carolina greeted her, "Good evening, Mother."
"You're welcome home, my daughter. How's your husband and his family doing over there in the city?" Mrs. Lucy asked, as her husband finally walked up to meet them too. Carolina replied, "They're all fine, Mother."
"Cora, go and bring the basket of yam and vegetables I brought from the farm," Mrs. Lucy told Cora, who had been standing aside, staring at her parents arriving and her mother gushing over Carolina.
"Okay, Mama. Good evening," Cora greeted, walking away to the spot where her mother had dropped the basket earlier. She bent down and carried it, walking back to the front as her mother continued examining Carolina.
Mrs. Lucy Brown touched Carolina's stomach, wanting to know if her firstborn was already pregnant for her billionaire husband, but Carolina's stomach was still flat as steel.
"Carolina! Don't tell me you're not yet pregnant for your husband? It's been over a year now, and I've already arranged my traveling box of clothes to come over to the city and take care of you and your newborn baby?" Mrs. Lucy asked, and Carolina frowned, replying, "Mama."
Carolina did not like how people were beginning to examine her stomach just because she was married, and they're monitoring her womb.
