Heaven Venezia:-
"Hey...Hey, it's alright. It's not your blood." Rick tried to calm my panicked breathing as I held on to my stomach and looked at me curiously as my body trembled but didn't speak anything.
"If it wasn't my blood, then whose was it?" I asked, looking around when my eyes landed on one of Giovanni's men, who was lying dead on the floor and my eyes widened in realization.
The man died protecting me. He gave his life to protect mine. I stood back on my feet when the doctor entered, carried Giovanni out on the stretcher, and took him to the hospital present in the fortress as Giovanni had it built here for emergencies. We work illegally and going out to any public or private hospital can create problems for us, hence why a hospital built in here.
"Run some tests on Giovanni, the doctor, and I want every little detail about it. You understand?" I demanded in an authoritative tone "And, Rick. Find out if this man had any family, send them condolences, and ensure his family is paid for everything."
"What about her?" came Cedric's voice who was holding Carmen at gunpoint while the b***h smirked, bleeding and fearlessly.
"Take her to the dungeon. I am going to kill her." I ordered when she laughed as she looked around at her dead men on the floor.
"f*****g weak assholes. Couldn't even protect their leader." she spat at the dead bodies, then looked at me arrogantly as she spoke, "You are not going to kill me, instead you are going to work for me."
"And, why is that?" I asked with an arched brow "Why would you think that I won't kill you after what you did to my husband? I thought that he lost his memories due to the fall, when it was you, who made him lose them, you cunt. So, tell me, why the hell wouldn't I kill you? And, this is my daughter's bedroom that your men's blood just made filthy. You are going to pay for this."
"Like I said, not scared because you need me. Until you need me, you won't kill me, because killing me would cause you to lose your husband's life," she announced and pushed Cedric away after pulling out the dagger from her shoulder and hissed in pain for a few seconds then threw it on my side, but I dodged on time.
"You think that Giovanni is safe after getting the dose? b***h, no. He isn't. He will crave this drug in his system every two days. What are you going to do after two days when he screams in pain and gets closer to his death if the drug isn't provided? And, if you kill me, you won't get that drug anywhere because like I said, I created this drug myself. You kill me, the drug is gone, then so is your husband."
I tightened my fists and another wave of anger and desperation filled me when Carmen’s words rang in the back of my mind. Despite all that, although his memories were already stolen by her, Giovanni was still in danger. This woman could determine whether he would live or die. One thing is for sure. She is going to die a painful death, and I am going to be the one to kill her.
I inhaled deeply—there was no way I was going to let her rile me up—and then replied.
"Well, let me put this straight, you are telling me that you alone control the supply of this drug because you made it yourself? That you are the only person that can keep Giovanni alive? When you are the one who put him in this condition?"
Carmen looked right into my eyes and smirked at me, lifting her hand to wipe a line of blood from her lips. "Precisely. If you kill me you have signed his death warrant. He will suffer, desire the substance, and finally…" She looked away and stopped in the middle of her sentence with a cruel satisfaction sparkling in her eyes as she continued.
"You’ll watch him wither away and you will be responsible for his death because you chose to kill me out of your anger instead of playing smart to keep your husband alive."
I looked at her angrily as hatred welled up in me but I restrained myself, knowing well that anger would not solve the problem. I have to play smart, as Giovanni would have in this situation.
"If you think that you are irreplaceable because of such a plan, you are greatly mistaken. The only irreplaceable over here is my husband and to my husband it is me. I will seek a way of undoing it by finding out what you have done to him. I will find every bit of your alleged 'drug' at your place all around the world, even if I have to destroy it all to do that. And when I do, you’ll be begging for mercy. This arrogant look on your face will be replaced by fear as you see your death standing on your porch." I threatened.
Her laugh was sharp, mocking. "Good luck, Donna. But I am the only escape route from this hell you have, so don’t forget it. Like it or not, you need me."
"No, I don't need you." I snapped "I am Giovanni's wife, and now I will show you what I am capable of."
"Why else do you think I am here for? I know how much you are capable of. The whole world thinks that you are some good girl with a nice and golden heart filled with kindness and goodness. They all think that you are an angel, but I am going to show you that you are not an angel, but a devil. A cruel ruthless, bloodthirsty woman." she laughs "Donna, I know what I have done to Giovanni, and only I know how to make this right. You kill me, you lose him and everything along with it,"
"Cedric, I don't want to hear this b***h's voice for even a single moment now, take her to the dungeon, and then I will decide what to do with her." I ordered Cedric "I will personally kill her after looking at my husband."
"Yes, Donna." Cedric nodded his head and took laughing Carmen with him and I turned to look at Rick who was looking at me with an arched brow and asked.
"Heaven, you are pregnant. Aren't you?" he asked with a straight expression.
