“Female, middle thirties, a bullet to the abdomen with severe bleeding…”  “Jen…Jen… stay with me,” My hands gripping the steel of the bed Jen lies on in the ambulance, while she only looses more blood and the paramedics place oxygen through her mouth, yet, she doesn’t respond. “Ma’am you’re going to have to move back so we can do our job,” The female paramedic speaks to me, as my whole attention only remains on Jen, yet, my feet takes steps back on their own, letting them do their job, while i run severe grips to my hair. “f**k!” I curse lowly, feeling my emotions begin to overwhelm me, at the sight in front of me, as guilt covers me first, knowing if I hadn’t taken Jen to the coffee shop, the police would definitely have been there with backup, than just us two. The ambulance comes to a stop, as they begin to rush Jen out of it and into the hospital for the emergency ward, as once they take her in the only thing I can do is watch the door close with no access to know if she’s okay or not.  The whole scenario beginning to feel like Deja Vu in my head, as my memories can’t help but play back to what happened eight years ago. EIGHT YEARS AGO. “You seriously are not joking, aren’t you?” A smile of disbelieve on my lips, as I ask Ryan the meaning of the statement. “Do I ever joke when it comes to anything related to you?” Ryan snuggles his arms around my waist. “I don’t know, because you hate anything related to that place.” I chuckle still in disbelieve of Ryan’s words. “True, I do and honestly it is irking me to know I’ll be there, but if that is what you two want…” I watch Ryan with a huge smile on his lips, as his hands caress my two months old pregnancy, which is invisible at this stage. “I don’t mind doing anything.” Ryan completes as my eye tear up at his words and gestures towards me. “I love you so much Ryan Hawkins.” My hands move to caress his handsome face, characterized of a smooth skin, hazel eyes and thick eyebrows. One which I can get lost in with just a sight. “And I love you too future Mrs Hawkins.” Ryan responds, as that gets a chuckle from me, with my gaze slightly admiring the ring on my left finger. “Except, if you do want me to take you back upstairs and remove every of this excess clothing on this smooth skin of yours, I suggest you get dressed.” Ryan adds, which brings a lustful smile to my lips. “Hmm, I don’t mind the thought of that,” My lips meets with Ryan’s slightly, as I slowly suck on his lower lip slightly. “Don’t tempt me Laura, be careful what you wish for.” Ryan tells me huskily as that gets a chuckle out of me. “Alright then, I’ll go get dressed and we’re coming back to pick this up.” My embrace leaving Ryan bit by bit. “Oh definitely.” Ryan accepts instantly, before i take that as my cue to go upstairs and get changed from the blue robe on my body. As I change my wears, my lips can’t help but smile every second at the thought of how lucky and happy I am, by getting married to the love of my life and expecting our child on the way.  I knew love was possibly and beautiful also, but no one explained this feeling of immense happiness that comes with it, one which I don’t mind quitting my job if it means giving a better future for my family.  I walk down the stairs, to meet Ryan whom is waiting patiently for me, so as we can get to our dinner date at Mandy’s. Ryan hates that place, cause he says their food is trash, and I believe it too, but here I am craving for their particular burger that they make. I guess pregnancy do make you weird. “Shall we?” Ryan’s hazel eyes descends on me, one that gets me thinking if I should let go of my cravings and just eat Ryan instead, yet, the craving for a cheesy burger seems to be my stronger urge for the evening. “Yes babe.” I smile back at him, while he picks up his keys and his left hand stroll to hold my waist as we walk. We get to Mandy’s in some minutes, as Ryan and I take a seat, while we wait for our order to be placed. “Not only is their food tasteless, but their customer service is crap.” Ryan speaks, taking me to just smile without saying a word while I admire him, and reminisce this whole feeling of mine. “Damn! You look f*****g handsome when you do that.” My words can’t help but come out of my mouth. “Do what?” Ryan says perplexed with a smile. “Hold on, what did we say about cursing in front of our baby,” Ryan cautions me as I only my roll my eye at him, before the waitress whom was attending to other customers comes to our side, declining whatever it is I have to say. “Good evening. What would you like to have.” The waitress whose name tag says to be Suzy, ask us. “Well, I’d like a….”  “Everyone down to the ground! To the ground now!” My words hang in my throat, as in a reflex I see Ryan by my side, while he pulls me down to the ground gently with him, along with the rest of the people in the restaurant who also have their heads down, courtesy of the three gun armed men causing a chaos in the building.  My head and Ryan’s stay together on the ground, as both our hands remain firm with each other’s, as the men ask for the money from the sales, while they begin to pack it into the bag. As an agent to the force, this is no situation where I get to play hero, as I am clearly outnumbered and the only thing I can do is cooperate until the police get here, which they begin to, as their blue and red lights begin to flicker along with the sirens. “f**k! The police are here. We need to leave now!” One of the masked men says. “How the f**k are we going to that? We won’t be able to escape now.” Another of them speak, as I recognize them from their voices while my head still remains down. “We can’t get caught. Vimero will kill us, so we won’t get caught.” The third of them say, as I believe he seems to be the one in charge based on the audacity im his tone, yet I’m unable to figure it all out when I feel myself being pulled from the shoulder by a grip. “No, no Laura. Please…no,” My fingers entangled with Ryan loosens, as the third of the men drag me up, with a gun to my head, while I feign to be calm, yet, I fail, especially watching Ryan beg for me. “No…please don’t harm her. Take me.” Ryan begs. “I’ll be fine Ryan… I’m right here…” “s**t your f*****g mouth!” My saliva instantly becoming dry, as his voice echo in my ear, while the man handles me away from Ryan such that our table trembles and my wallet falls to the ground, displaying the Police force logo at the back. “You’re a police?” My eyes go wide open, hearing the man talk from behind me, but his attention isn’t on me, but on Ryan.  “f**k! We have a police here! He must have been the one to inform them.” The second of the men speaks, as my head shakes negatively under the man whom has me gripped. “No, no he’s not a police. I promise you and he didn’t call anyone, he didn’t…” “Shut the f**k up, I didn’t ask you!” The third of them words echoing in my head, along with the hit of his gun to my skull, as that sends me to fall to the floor.  “Laura!” I hear Ryan’s voice in the air, seeing him try to get to me, but one of the men get him first, and in instant all I can do is watch them put a bullet to Ryan’s head, as the same man whom shot Ryan turns his attention to me, while I try to crawl towards my fiancé, only for me to feel a bullet to my abdomen, and I begin to bleed out enormously, with my hands now on my stomach and my eyes on my Ryan whom is no longer moving, and my unborn child whom I begin to feel the life slipping out of me.
