“Arguing with the two of you, is like arguing with a stone. Argh!” Jen forfeits In frustration. “Well, looks like we won Alex.” I stretch out a hand to Alex, whom is Jen’s fiancé. “Nice doing business with you Alex Stiliski.” I let out a big grin. “Pleasure doing business with you too Laura Smith.” Alex responds the hand shake with the same grin on his face. “Argh! I hate you two!” Jen yells in anger watching i and Alex win a bet against her. “Just because you guys win doesn’t mean it’s the truth. People are different and everyone’s has various way to which they would react to getting free money.” Jen tries to prove her point again. “Nah babe, you are just one with a good heart, doesn’t mean everyone is,” Alex goes behind Jen as he snakes a hand to her waist by the counter which she stands, while I sit by the chair in the kitchen, deep down admiring the two. “I don’t believe that s**t. Jen, a good heart?” I chuckle loudly, making fun of Jen while she throws me a crisp from the cereal she’s about to put milk to. “I hate you Laura.” Jen nods her head negatively, staring at me as though she could put a knife through my skull, where as Alex laughs through it all, making me even chuckle. “But solemnly speaking Jen, the average man wouldn’t think twice when offered with an opportunity to receive free cash, without knowing what’s in store for them or what the deal is. All they care about is the money, and we just proved that with your neighbor, Maria.” I speak of fact. “Because Maria is like a money magnet, and literally can do anything for money. I’m not surprised.” Jen tries to defend her point on the prank I and Alex did on Jen’s neighbor, whom is a sixty five year old woman, given the opportunity to earn a thousand cash. Maria didn’t even let Alex finish and she agreed to the deal, with or without hearing the conditions, which proved out fact to Jen who vowed that no one in their right mind would take a thousand without asking what’s in return, but Maria did and she won the money. Well, Alex money.  I ain’t placing a bet with a thousand cash. “The fact is, she succumbed didn’t she? Just like the way the world is right now. People literally would do anything for an additional cash even while having enough all because of greed.” Alex speaks next from behind Jen, as with his response I see Jen go stiff. “Uhum,” is all Jen says as she stirs her neck and passes Alex a small smile that doesn’t reach her eyes, along with he stiff reaction which she has just achieved, not long after Alex’s statement, making me realize just what she may have thought with his words and the fist person that comes to her head, being Jacob. “All right, I think I’m going to have to leave you two now, I have a meeting I need to attend.” Alex’s two hands grabs Jen’s waist, while he gives her a kiss on the cheek, but all Jen does in reaction is just smile lightly. “You okay babe?” Alex questions Jen worriedly, definitely seeing her newfound expression. “I’m sure she’s just sad she won the bet.” I speak trying to ease the mood, and cover for Jen. “Well don’t, because I’m glad you are not like others I’ve met. And for that and more which makes me love you.” Alex turns Jen to him, before placing a kiss on her lips, while she tries to respond passionately, yet, I see through it all that she is indeed disturbed. “I better get going.” Alex turns to me. “It was nice having you here Laura. You know you’re always welcomed.” Alex says, while I only smile appreciatively, before he takes that as his cue to leave for work. “Girl, you need to tell him,” I tell Jen the moment i hear Alex begin his engine to leave. “I’m trying Jen, I…I just haven’t found the right time to.” Jen says defeated. “You have to create that time. From what I see, Alex is really in love with you, and he’s good for you too. He is successful, patient and caring towards you, don’t let him find out on his own.” I tell Jen honestly. “But, I’m scared Laura. I’m scared he’ll leave me once he finds out.” Jen places a hand on her temple. “Give him that choice to make Jen.” I tell her sincerely, before getting up from the stool I sit on. “I’m not your therapist girl, come on we’re getting late and we still have to stop for coffee.” I tell Jen. “You need to stop for Coffee, not me.” Jen rolls her eyes before tossing her cereal that she didn’t take into the sink. “You know, you do this all the time. I say I want to get coffee and once you see me taking mine you snatch it when you could have gotten yours. I’m not letting you get your hands on what is mine anymore, just so you know.” I tell Jen earning a deep chuckle from her, before she picks her jacket, and we head outside and into my Puma wheels, heading to the coffee shop, before going to the office. “Two cappuccinos please,” I tell the waitress as soon as I walk into the coffee shop, while Jen stays in the car, waiting for me to get back. I specifically asked Jen if she needed a coffee and as usual she said no, but I’m not listening to her and letting her have my coffee, for that, I’m getting two. I watch the waitress bring back my coffee as she hands it Over to me with a smile, while I nod in appreciation. My feet takes nothing less than three steps away from the waitress when I hear gunshots in the air, one which is now replaced with screams and people running to safety, while I drop my coffee to the ground and instantly taking the gun behind my back, to sight the gunshots being pulled from a couple blocks from the shop.  “Can’t we heave a day of peace for f***s sake!” I yell to Jen as soon as i get out of the coffee shop, and meeting her out of the car, taking cover behind the doors. “Where is it coming from?” I ask her, sighting her gun with the trigger pulled. “There. The bank.” Jen gestures with her head, while I take in the scene from where we stay, seeing masked men from the transparent glass inside and outside the building. “You ready?” Jen raises a brow at me, while I send her a nod, and we move positions towards the bank, while covering each other.  Gunshots fill the air, as the masked men begin to dive out of the bank into a blue bus, but not before Jen shoots one of the tires and take some of the men, whom try to shoot back. We take cover by a car parked by the side, before we go again, as this time we seemto have gotten half of the men down, while Jen moves to the right of the bus and I do to the left. I don’t take a complete turn to the left when my right eyes moves on reflex to see a bullet being sent towards Jen’s direction by another of the men coming out of the building unexpectedly. My eyes go wide in shock, as my fingers move quickly, taking my gun to shoot the criminal, yet, I am too late to stop the bullet going to Jen as I watch her fall to the ground.  “Jen!” My voice echoing through the streets, while my reflex goes on to take cover, as more bullets come in every direction, while the men find routes to escape, and by the time I run to Jen on the floor, a pool of blood is what I see, alongside her breathless body.  Fuck!
