Blake is Leaving

As we get back to Zack's Jess and Austin ran for the spare bedroom "Night" Jess giggles with Austin's arms wrapped around her waist as she closes the bedroom door. Zack and I go into his bedroom I grabbed my sleeping shorts and a t-shirt from my bag and go for the bathroom to change. As I changed and went back into Zack's bedroom he had already changed into pyjama bottoms sitting on the couch looking for something to put on the tv. I seen he grabbed a pillow and a blanket. I looked at him " You don't need to sleep on the couch, it's your bed" " Don't be silly" he sighs " I'm not letting you sleep on the couch." " Well we could share the bed I don't mind" I say on the shy side. We've been best friends for almost a year now and I feel like sharing a bed together wouldn't change anything. He didn't say anything, so I grabbed a pillow off the bed and threw it at him, hitting him on the head. "Oh you're getting it now" he says getting up and charging at me, picking me up and throwing me on the bed, I let out a screech and laughing as he's on top of me pinning me down ticking me "Truce" I cry out. I was laughing so hard I was crying.  Zack eases up a bit " if you start again you know what will happen to you" I giggle " Come on now, I just wanted you to get into the bed" I reply. He lets out a sigh crawling off me, now sitting on the bed looking at me I sit up not taking my eyes off him. I've always wondered why he was still single, Zack is good looking and sweet he would do anything for anyone.He will make someone beyond happy some day. " Fine you win" he says."I'm going to the washroom I'll be right back" "Okay, I'm heading to the kitchen for water, you want some?" I ask. "No, I'm good for now" he smiles back at me as he gets off the bed and out of the bedroom.

I walk downstairs I grab a bottled water from the fridge, I hear a sound coming from out on the step, I look out I see Blake sitting on one of the lawn chairs with a beer in his hand. I decide to go out and say Hi to him. I open the door and he looks at me "Sammy, I'm glad to see you" "Hey Blake, enjoying the evening. I didn't see you at the bon fire".  " No, decided we weren't going to go last minute but I went down to say Hi to some old friends just got home actually." he replies. "Have a seat I wanted to talk to you anyway". "Okay" I reply sitting down next to him. " As you know I'm leaving in the morning, seeing how your in pyjamas you're staying the night, so I'll see you before I leave, but I just wanted to tell you, thank you for sticking by Zack, you mean the world to him Sam, I've never seen that guy so happy, you came around and he changed. Please look after my little bro while I'm gone." I couldn't help but smile and feel tears start to build up. Blake, his mom always were so nice to me like I was a part of the family.

I heard the door open, Zack was standing there " I was wondering where you went" he says. "Hey Zack just having a say with Sammy before bed." Blake replies.I look at Blake before getting up "I'll see you in the morning, enjoy the rest of your evening" "Night" he replies.

Zack and I get back upstairs I crawl into the bed against the wall, Zack lays next to me. "Thanks for being there for me" I say. I keep thinking about what Blake told me, I never really thought how we saved each other. I can feel Zack smiling, "Same to you Sammy, here's to a new school year together" He put his fist up in the air, I giggled and bopped my first into his.  I fell asleep not long after that.

The next morning I woke up,laying on my side facing the wall. Zack was facing my back,one of his arms wrapped around me. I couldn't help but smile a bit. It felt good. If anyone was going to touch me, it would be him I felt comfortable around him. He moved and he must have realized where his arm was. "Sorry" he says. "It's okay" I reply rolling over to face him. Just as Jess and Austin ran into the bedroom. Jess  squeals "Aww that is so cute" looking at us. I rolled my eyes at her. We all go downstairs for some breakfast. His mom was in the kitchen she was petite pretty woman, shoulder length auburn curly hair and hazel eyes. "Morning kids" she smiles at us. "I'm making bacon, eggs, toast, and sausages, help yourself." Blake then comes downstairs."Hey baby, I'm making a big breakfast before you take off" she looks at him. "Thanks mom" he replies giving her a kiss on the side of her head. She was super close with both Blake and Zack.

I'm close with my mom, Dad not so much he's always on the go, not home much. When he is home him and my mom are usually gone.

After we all had something to eat I changed and packed up my bag I knew my mom wanted me to be home today as school was starting back up tomorrow. Jess and Austin were saying bye to Blake "Drive safe and be good" I heard Austin say to Blake. Before getting into Austin's white Honda civic  Jess looked at me, "I'll text you later on to make plans for tomorrow" "Sounds good, talk to you then"  reply. Blake looked at me and grabbed me to him, gave me the biggest hardest hug I've ever gotten I couldn't breathe. "Sorry" he says "I'm going to miss you Sammy, but I will keep in touch" catching my breath " I will miss you too Blake, and you better" I reply. With that Zack drove me home.

I got home, jumped in the shower and put my dirty clothes in the hamper. I went upstairs to find my mom sitting on the back deck with a glass of wine. My mom had long brown hair with some blonde highlights and brown eyes she was on the short side but taller then me. "Hey mom" I say sitting next to her. "Hey hun, how was your night?' she asks. "It was alright. There was a lot of people there, most of them I didn't know but Zack, Jess, Austin and I all stuck together as usual." "No surprise there" she adds with a chuckle. "Zack's mom made a big breakfast, and said bye to Blake, so over all it was a what I wanted to do  with my best friends" I said. "And that's all that matters Sam. Do what makes you happy nothing else".  I smile at her and head back downstairs. I received a text message from Jess :

Hey, so Austin got a text from Nathan apparently Lucas is looking for your number

What the hell why is Lucas trying to reach out to me. I new Austin and Nathan were buddies they played Soccer together.

Hey, please tell me Austin didn't give out my number to him I texted back.

No, but now I'm curious as to why he's got his eye on you she texted back

I have no idea, he did come talk to me while you and Austin were gone

What the hell Sammy, why didn't you tell me last night.

He didn't really say much, just introduced himself, and asked if I wanted to go for a walk with him, which I said no.

OMG..... well looks like he wants to talk more.  Austin told Nathan he wasn't giving out your number and that you weren't interested.

Tell Austin thanks. I'll see you tomorrow morning.

I sat on my bed why was he all of a sudden trying to contact me. I figured he would have forgotten about my by now well school should be interesting now.
