Lift Me Up ( Rihanna)

1219 Words
Kaylie POV I look at the six men, including Beta Jenson, who is busy preparing for our journey back to the Blue Sapphire Pack territory. Although I am a bit puzzled about the lives of wolves that I have always thought exist only in fairy tales, there is no turning back now. I have to follow them to their territory for my own safety and, most importantly, for the sake of this handsome little baby I name Adam. The name just pops into my mind when I deliver him from Leah's womb. After all, isn't Adam the most fitting name for the first baby boy I bring into this world with my own hands? Alpha Lucas glances at me as I cradle Adam. He simply stares at us with empty eyes, showing no inclination to come near his own child. He doesn't even reach out to comfort him. I can't understand what's going on in his mind. Why is he distancing himself from his innocent child? Leah's body is bound to a makeshift stretcher made of tree branches and my blanket, the same one I use to pull her out of the forest. Four strong men, who seem to be Alpha Lucas's guards, carry Leah's body while Alpha Lucas stands beside the stretcher, tears still streaming down his face. He must have a deep love for his wife. Losing her seems to have taken away half of his soul. "Doctor, let's get going. We'll get there by the time dusk starts to settle in," Beta Jenson urges me to start moving. "How far is your territory?" I ask. "Well, if we shift into wolves, it's not too far actually. But in human form, our territory is quite a hike away. It takes about an hour on foot, crossing that hill," Beta Jenson says, pointing towards the towering hill from where we stand. We proceed in a single-file formation, marching together. The lead guard takes the forefront, forging a path ahead. Behind him, the four guards carry the makeshift stretcher bearing Leah, while Alpha Lucas remains steadfastly by her side, his face etched with profound grief. I follow closely, cradling Adam in my arms, with Beta Jenson accompanying me. Trailing behind us is a towering guard, exuding an aura of strength and a formidable presence, hinting at his powers in combat. In the midst of our journey, a sudden realization strikes me—I need to retrieve my suitcase, the sole possession I cherish dearly. "Wait, I must retrieve my suitcase. It holds all my belongings," I interject. In response to my concern, Beta Jenson provides a reassuring answer. "We can't go back, Doctor. Don't worry, we'll make sure all your needs are taken care of, including fresh clothes." I look at him, puzzled by his statement. Do they have clothing available for humans in their territory? If so, why are they walking bare-chested, proudly displaying their toned bodies? Sensing my confusion, Beta Jenson clarifies, "You'll have everything you need in our territory. We don't wear clothes because we shift into wolves, making it easier to search for Luna Leah." Understanding his explanation, I nod and continue walking, keeping in step with their pace as we make our way toward the Blue Sapphire Pack. I can only hope that my decision is the right one. Even if it isn't, what other choice do I have? I can't abandon Adam, my precious baby. I can only trust that Beta Jenson will fulfill his promise to treat me kindly, without any interrogation or negative assumptions about my involvement in Luna Leah's death. +++ . After what feels like an eternity of trekking through the wilderness, we finally reach our destination—the Blue Sapphire Territory. As we approach, a set of grand gates loom before us, their ivory brilliance shining in the sunlight. It's as if the gate itself whispers, "Prepare to be dazzled!" With eager anticipation, we step through the gates and enter a world of sheer opulence. The air is filled with the scent of blooming flowers, their vibrant colors painting a picture of paradise. I can't help but be mesmerized by the beauty that surrounds me, my eyes dancing from one flower to another like a bee in search of the sweetest nectar. But it's the sight of a majestic fountain in the center of a lush garden that truly steals my attention. Water gracefully cascades from its exquisite design, sparkling and shimmering with each drop. It's as if the fountain itself is performing a water ballet, inviting everyone to join in the splendor. And just beyond the fountain, a row of magnificent pine trees stands tall, their branches swaying gently in the breeze. It feels like they're guarding the secrets of this enchanting territory, signaling that our journey has reached its pinnacle. As I stand there, awestruck by the grandeur around me, I can't help but wonder, "Whereexactly is their territory?" It seems like a hidden gem nestled within this lavish oasis. To my amazement, the leading guard, with a flourish of grandeur, bows down towards the fountain and the row of pine trees. Like a scene from a magical fairytale, they respond by parting ways, opening up before me like a gateway to a whole new world. My jaw drops, resembling a surprised as I take in the breathtaking vista that lies before my eyes. It's a sight that words can't fully capture—a blend of luxury, beauty, and whimsy that tickles my senses. In this moment, I can't help but feel like I have stumbled upon a real-life fairyland, where dreams become reality and laughter echoes through the air. “ " Welcome, doc, to the Blue Sapphire Territory. This is the heart of our city, San Lucas, named after Alpha Lucas himself," Beta Jenson announces with a hint of pride. I gaze around in awe, taking in the breathtaking view. Immaculately arranged mansions line the wide streets on either side. Towering buildings dominate the western part of the entrance. And what truly leaves me dumbfounded is the people—both men and women—who resemble Greek gods and goddesses, their features flawlessly sculpted. Unconsciously, I glance down at my simple attire, a mixture of dirt and bloodstains. I feel like the only servant amidst a swarm of princesses, as if I accidentally stumbled into a royal ball and ended up being the odd one out. Once again, Beta Jenson seems to read my worries. "Don't worry,Doctor. My mate, Rose, will provide you with suitable clothing. Right now, we're waiting for the car that will take us to Alpha Lucas's grand residence at the top of that hill," He points to a magnificent mansion perched high on the hill. I nod and smile. It seems like my decision to follow them is not in vain. I never expected to stumble upon this stunning and modern city in the heart of the wilderness. It feels like being in a Wakanda-like film with a hidden beautiful city. As long as I have a place to seek shelter and a means to earn a living, I can live anywhere. After all, I am an orphan with no family left—no parents, no siblings. So, why not embrace this extraordinary adventure with open arms and a cheerful spirit?
