Daisy
Max followed me back to the apartment and sat obediently at the counter. While I heated up a portion for him he scanned my apartment looking curiously towards the cage.
- My rats live there. - I said and saw Max pull his legs up on the chair. No... This can't be! Before I could've asked or say anything Sonia came out of the bathroom wrapped up in a big towel.
- Daisy, you ran out of conditioner! - she said giggling but her giggles stopped as well as her skipping to the kitchen when she saw Max at the counter.
- Oh Hi! - she said and waved carelessly so the towel rolled open and fall to the floor revealing her birthday-suit in front of Max. He stared at Sonia and she froze in shock. After a few seconds she posed in a sexy way and said.
- Greetings! I'm the dessert! - Max coughed and almost choked. I had to hit his back so he can breath again and Sonia picked her towel up again rushing to the bedroom.
- Are you okay? - I asked but Max was red as a tomato. I've never seen this man flustered before. Even Marcus showed more emotions than him. Max nodded and I gave him a bowl full of steaming pasta.
- Buen provecho! - Sonia was back and wore one of my fluffy PJ onesies. She looked now like a pastel yellow bunny. The onesie mage her bronze skin and warm brown eyes even more charming. Max ate his dinner but he stole glances at Sonia. After dinner I gave him a lunch box and he looked confused.
- I have a fiance no? Please take it to him, you have already tested it for poison! - I said jokingly but Max stiffened. When Sonia noticed that she sneaked next to me and whispered into Max's ear who got red again and left in a hurry.
- What did you say to him? - Sonia shrugged.
- Thay he forgot his dessert. - I rolled my eyes and went to have a quick shower as well. I came out of the bedroom in a white Sheep onesie and walked to the fridge.
- Cookie dough or Chunky monkey? - I've asked and Sonia looked at me sitting on the sofa.
- You know that I'm not a vanilla girl!
- Chunky Monkey than! - I grabbed two spoons and handed the jar of Ben and Jerry's to Sonia while I grabbed mine. I was ready to start the movie but noticed that Sonia was rather distracted.
- Is something wrong? - I asked and she jumped a bit. Sonia blushed making me confused. This girl has steel nerves! Why is she blushing like a little girl?
- Have you ever felt like someone became your.... Eee... How do you say it... Luz?
- Light?
- Yes! That someone became your light.
- Not really, why?
- When Max entered to your apartment and our eyes met I've felt like the whole house got brighter and warmer. He has such cute puppy eyes! He must be a softie under that strict appearance! I think I've a crush on him!
- Did I just hear you right? You, Sonia, the life of the party, the one who made our dorm question if we ran a brothel because of the frequent fluctuation of your boyfriends, you fell in love for the first sight?! - She grabbed a decor pillow and squeezed ot to her face squeaking into it. She lifted her face up and ran her hands through her hair while exhaled loudly.
- I need to know everything about him! And you are going to help me!
- What if I won't? - I asked playfully and seeing the wicked smile om Sonia's face I realized I'll be blackmailed... Again.
- Fine! So here is what I know.
Marcus
- I'm not marrying Francesca! - I said and my grandfather started cursing in Italian through the video chat. When he finished my father turned to me with a cold expression.
- We don't understand why are you opposing. This could be a beneficial union for us in both businesses.
- I don't want to marry that arrogant, high maintenance b***h! I want to be with someone sweet, kind, I want my Spring! - my grandfather looked at me in shock and I saw him grabbing his pocket watch squeezing it to his chest. He used to tell me when I was a little boy and our empire wasn't even important yet, that my grandmother came to his life just like Spring.
- You know bambino, before meeting your grandma, my Tamara, life was like an endless winter without Christmas. Cold, forgotten, cruel, but she came and changed my winter to her spring. Until she is by my side, it doesn't matter what happens, I'll live in an eternal spring because of her kindness and smile.
Grandpa got the pocket watch from grandma who passed away three years ago due to a fight between the families. Our rivals entered to my grandparent's house while grandpa was away to discuss the truce with them, and they brutally murdered her. Since her death, grandpa burned all our rivals down and he returned to his eternal winter. I knew if I say this, I can convince him, but my father was forged of a different steel.
- Nice try Marc. Fine, do you have someone like that? Because if you are trying to gain time to figure some other excuse out you better not waste my time.
- Actually, I have. Her name is Daisy, she is cute, smart, kind and caring. A little bundle of joy. - my grandpa looked interested in the conversation for the first time.
- Margherita... When did you met her? - he asked and I sighed.
- She works for me, she is my secretary. - my father laughed at me and said.
- Do you really want to throw a fine woman like Francesca away for a simple secretary? - that moment the door of their office swung open and my mom rushed in.
- Mother.
- Son. - after the brief greetings, she pinched my father's ear and asked him in a low, threatening voice.
- Simple Secretary, did I hear the mocking tone in your voice well, my love? - she asked and my father grabbed her hand and gave a kiss on top of it.
- Of course not my love!
- You did mom! - I shouted and my father tried to kill me with his glance but his wasn't as good as my mom's.
- Bring that Daisy here to meet us son. - she said and grandpa looked excited while my father annoyed. That moment I heard a soft knocking on the door. Max came in and handed me the lunch box and greeted my family.
- What is this? - I've asked and with a slight smile he said.
- Your girlfriend sent it, she said to bring it to you, since you probably didn't have a proper lunch either. - my mom squeaked a bit but changed her attitude quickly fixing my father's tie.
- What a lovely detail. Bring the girl with you next month when you come bambino. - my grandpa said and ended the conversation before I could've said anything. I looked at the box than at Max.
- Did Daisy sent this for real? - he nodded and said.
- It is really good. Good night Marc! - he left and I saw his ears turning red. I walked to the kitchen and grabbed a fork. The food was still warm and I took a bite, somehow, the entire lunchbox became empty before I've noticed it.
