I've arrived back to my apartment pretty quickly and decided to have another shower. Under the running water I've chuckled only for myself. What I've been thinking? Blackmail Daisy?! She has the nerves of a butterfly... She'll break into tears at the sight of my family or a gun. I groaned and after the shower, got dressed. As I went to check on, if Max was ready to go too, in my door a coupe of police officers, in civil were about to knock on the door.

- Good morning officers! May I help you? - I asked and they looked confused.

- Mr. Kane, I'm afraid you have to come with us to the station. - It was my turn to be confused. That moment Max's apartment door opened and he looked worried behind the officers. His hand was on his gun but I smiled a bit and shook my head slightly.

- That's okay, but please explain to me, why should I go to the police station. I have the right to know why I'm being arrested. - the younger officer, he was probably a rookie, since his colleague seemed to know about me, said.

- Mr. Kane. You have been reported to the police as a possible suspect of k********g. We must search your apartment as well. - I felt my head spinning and even Max's jaw dropped. k********g?

- Feel free, if you have a warrant. - I said and the rookie shut up.

- Law is the law. - the rookie wanted to put handcuffs on me, but his senior shook his head and looked into my eyes.

- I don't want to start gossips, nor hurt your reputation Mr. Kane.

- I really appreciate the concern, I'll put these on in the car. - I said and took the handcuffs from the shocked rookie, then turned to Max.

- Come after me with the car, we won't take long. - Max nodded and headed to the garage to fetch the car. In the meantime I've got into the civil police car and we headed to the station. There they had me wait in an interrogation room, soon a young detective came in, took the handcuffs off and took seat in front of me.

- Mr. Kane. I apologize for the inconvenience, but this morning we have received a call from a young woman, that you have kidnapped her friend from a club at night. According to her " A handsome man in suit came, threw Daisy over his shoulder, knocked one of our dance partners out and left." Since then the Miss couldn't contact her friend Daisy. Oh so those were the buzzing sounds in the middle of the night. - I thought, but kept listening.

- Could you please explain to me what happened? - I leaned back in my chair with my hands crossed in front of my chest and with a grin answered.

- Exactly what the Miss said, except that this wasn't a k********g. Miss Daisy is my girlfriend, soon to be fiance. I just took her home. You can call her here to pick me up, and see it for yourself. But I warn you that she can be a bit overwhelming. - The detective thought for it for a moment but agreed. We went to the lobby and he gave me my mobile phone.

- Call her please, we have a picture of her from her friend for identification.- I've dialed Daisy's number and crossed my fingers that she didn't go back to sleep. While the phone rang I was thinking of what to say, she suddenly picked it up with a cheerful voice.

- Mr Kane?! - her voice sounded with disbelief but I had to keep the act up.

- I'm fine, don't worry! Please come to the 12th district police station to clear up a misunderstanding.

- I'm heading out immediately! Don't move! - she hang up and I gave my phone back to the detective with a chuckle.

- What is so funny Mr. Kane? - he asked and I grinned.

- She is coming and she told me not to move. - the detective looked a bit puzzled and I noticed the handcuffs.

- Could you put those on me?

- There's no need for that Mr Kane!

- I insist. - he sighed and handcuffed me since he didn't want to go against my wishes. None of these police officers or detectives knew about the fact that behind my legal businesses, my family was the head of the Italian Mafia in New York and Sicily. In fifteen minutes Daisy flew through the doors and I got amazed how my nickname fit her appearance. Good this only plays the cards to my hands. But what came after that, even I wasn't prepared for. Daisy came on skates and rolled directly to the receptionist's desk.

Hey Miss! You can't come in on skates! - the receptionist said and Daisy's face was red. She started to scream with the officer behind the desk.

- You don't understand! It's an emergency!

- Babybee? - I said and she turned her glance at me. I could tell the fear in her eyes when she saw the handcuffs. I winked at her to see how she will handle the situation. Without giving a single flying f**k about the arguing officer she rolled to me and got on her knees in front of me, holding my hands.

- Honey! What are you doing here? - she jumped up and turned to the officer. In a whiny voice she started freaking out.

- Let my Honey boo go! Why are you restraining him like a criminal?! Don't you know who he is?! Wait till I call our lawyers. - I was purely taken aback, but since the act was so good I didn't want to go to waste. With a kind smile I turned to the detective and said.

- I told you. - he was in shock but unlike me, he couldn't mask his feelings. He quickly took the handcuffs off of me and turned to Daisy.

- Sorry for the misunderstanding Mr. Kane. Miss Asano Smith please calm down. See, he is free to go. - that moment tears started to fall from Daisy's eyes and she was trembling in all her body. I held her to my side thanked to the detective and we left the police station. After clearing uo the situation between us she decided to go home the way she came and I got into the car. Max was already waiting and on our way to my office I've filled him up about what happened. Since he was observant, I've decided not to leave the details out. Easier to tell him why I have a hickey than lying.

- So. To summarize. You took Miss Asano home, waited for the drug to wear out, slept at her place and blackmailed her into being your fake fiance. Her friend thought you kidnapped her and now you've tested if she could be fit for the role of your fiance. Am I correct or did I leave something out? - I've sighed while looked out of the window.

- You've got it correctly.

- And? Did she pass the test? - Max asked and I've nodded.

- She was overwhelming, but with her bubbly personality that's fine. Daisy immediately took action, she came to rescue, didn't question anything and took care of the situation. I think it's going to be okay.

- As you wish Marc, you are the boss.

- Marc and Cheese. - I have mumbled with a smile remembering of the last night.

- Did you say something? - Max asked and I shook my head. That is a memory to keep only for myself.
