Chapter Twelve

I took a deep breath, standing in the middle of the fighting mat. As I waited for Ash, third rank, to show up. I stood for a bit, when Jade suddenly appeared next to a women. The women had long black hair in a bun and striking red eyes. The women walked up to me silently, looking in my eyes. "Your Faya?" She asked, to which I nodded, with the sudden action, and no warning Ash strikes, her fast movements landing me on the ground before I could blink. The women took a step back, still in a fighting stands as I stood, wince in pain. She was fast, that much was clear, what I needed was to examine her technique, but this might be difficult saying as I I couldn't even detect her movements. Before I had a chance to recover, again, Ash moved with great speed, striking my stomach, causing me to bend over in pain. She kept attacking, her speed unmatchable, not allowing me a single hit. Then, as quickly as it started the fight ended. She stood tall, not close to being out of breath. She rolled her eyes and scoffed. "and here I thought you'd be a challenge." With those words, she left, leaving me shaking on the ground, b****y and bruised. Jade strode up to me, hands in her pockets as she grinned. "Didn't get a single hit huh? That's pathetic." I shook my head. I tried to stand, but fell back to the ground. Jade sighed. "As much as I'd love to see someone die today, I ain't letting that happen to ya." She grabbed my arm and pulled me up, my eyes widened and I looked at her surprised. With a snap she teleported us to my room, lying me on the bed she disappeard and reappeared with a med-kit, and began tending to my wounds. I couldn't believe it. From what I'd seen, invaders cared for no one, they were heartless, selfish, so why... Was she helping me? "Why...?" Jade chuckled, her hands working skillfully as she cleaned and bandaged one of my b****y arms. "Belive it or not. I'm not all bad, besides, I can see potential. You'd only been here about a week, your still learning to harnish your abilities, to use them to your advantage, but I can see when you learn those things, you'll be strong. Letting you die now would be a waste." I stared at her surprised, she seen potential? I mean sure... They all seemed to belive I had potential but I thought they wouldn't help someone because the belived if the person needed help, it made them weak. So... What was I missing? Was there really something about them I was missing? About their ways, their morals? Were invaders really the bad ones here? No. What was I thinking? Of course they were! They'd invaded our planet! Killed billions, inslaved millions! They were horrible, heartless. They only cared about themselves! Right??
