ELLE
My wolf loved to run, we were always at our happiest running up the mountains back home, the wind in our fur, leaving all our worries behind. Many times I would I would leave to go out hunting and be gone for days at a time. My parents had grown use to me doing this, I just loved being out and free. It had been quite some time since we were able to run and enjoy it not worry about people chasing us or hiding from people it was finally a chance for me to just take in my surroundings and enjoy being one with nature.
I shifted into my wolf, she was a decent size for a female Alpha, I matched my fathers wolf in size. We were strong but some of the males always overpowered us when we were training. I learnt to deal with this by using speed to my advantage, being smaller than most men it always caught them off guard when they fought me, seeing how fast I could move around them, it became quite fun in the end seeing the look on their faces as I made them eat dirt.
As I reminisced about old times I hadn't realized how far we had run into the forest, how was I to know how close we were to civilization. All my senses were soon captured by a lone rabbit that shot out across the path in front of me, I pushed myself forward as we engaged in a game of cat and mouse, saliva pooled in our mouth at the thought of the meaty goodness. My wolf fixed her eyes on it she was determined to catch it and devour every inch of it, it had been way too long since she had a good meal.
We kept pushing forward and within seconds we were hot on its tail, gaining on it by the second, I could hear its heartbeat pounding against its little chest. The fear and adrenaline I could smell added more excitement to the chase.
It changed direction and skirted around some bushes giving me the opportunity to close the gap between us. I leaped over the bushes in the hope I would land directly on top of it, but It was smart, it skidded to a halt and then changed direction once more. Taking the small opportunity I had I snapped my jaws trying to reach it before it got too far away. My nose skimmed its fur missing him by a hairs width, I growled in annoyance as I landed back on all fours beginning my chase once again
As the rabbit began to tire I was confident his time was coming to the end. I was gaining on him fast, his heartbeat was now a constant hum, pounding so hard and fast it had reached his limit. It slowed and scurried underneath some bushes, I was almost certain it was going to make a run for it out the other side. Deciding to not take the chance of letting my meal escape from me I leaped over the bushes, the expectation of finding the tired animal waiting for me on the other side was soon dismissed as the face of a very scared lady came into my view.
A loud scream came from the frail woman as I landed on top of her, a sudden pain shot through my side as we collided with one another and both fell to the floor in a heap. Before I scared the poor woman any more I got back on my feet and ran as fast as I could back in the direction I came from, not stopping once until I saw the large tree stump that hid my pile of clothes where I first shifted.
I shifted back into my human form and got dressed as quick as I could, looking at the injury on my side I saw a deep gash, it wasn't bleeding too much but it was enough for someone to pick up the smell of my blood. I only hoped I hadn't injured the poor woman, she looked so scared when I appeared over the bushes at her, someone was bound to of heard her scream, they will be looking for me. Feeling the guilt overtake me as the woman's scared face flashes across my mind, I ran back into Corban house, Glinda wasn't in her office, for that I was thankful, how would I of explained this to her.
My side hurt as I bounded up the stairs, Keeping my hand pressed down on the wound pushing the pain to the back of my mind as I concentrated on making a beeline for my door. Once inside I stripped off and went to the bathroom to study my wound in the mirror, it was a smallish gash like I had been stabbed with something. I rinsed the blood off of my side and searched the cupboards for a first aid kit, as luck was on my side there it was, opening it up I emptied the contents out on the counter and rummaged through to find some sort of bandaid to cover it. I could only hope I healed enough by tonight so people didn't pick up on it.
I spent the afternoon curled up on the couch watching crap tv and eating. I didn't have too much shopping in as I hadn't been to the supermarket yet, all I had was the bits Glinda and Octavia had brought me. I knew tomorrow I would have to find my way to get some food shopping. I knew I passed several shops on the way to work last night it shouldn't take too much to find my way back to them.
I got up with ease this time the pain from my side had almost completely gone. I headed back into the bathroom lifting my top up so I could pull the bandaid off my side and see how I was healing. It was time I had to start getting ready for work so I had to make sure I could cover it the best I could I didn't want anyone picking up on the fact I was injured and then link me to what happened today in the forest. I was surprised to see it was almost fully healed, if I had gotten this cut a week ago It would still be fresh, so at least I knew I was getting healthier and my healing capabilities were returning to normal.
It wasn't long before I heard the familiar knock on the door as Octavia walks through, I didn't mind her walking in I quite liked the friendship we were building. "Hey girl, I picked you up a couple of bits while I was in town earlier" she shouted out as I heard the fridge open and her stacking items on the shelves.
"Thanks" I answered her.
"You ready?" she asked as she walked into my bedroom.
I was sat on the edge of my bed doing up the buckles on my shoes, knowing how hot it gets in the club I chose to go with a crop top and skirt, I smiled when Octavia walked in seeing her in the exact same outfit just slightly different colors. "Yep I'm ready" I chirped as I grabbed my bag, I didn't have much to put in it except my keys but I took it anyway.
Enzo
Sitting at my desk I studied the little clear bag that held two hairs and a small amount of blood. Axel seemed to take a liking to it I'm not too sure why as I couldn't even pick up on a scent to be able to like. I was none the wiser of how someone came onto my territory and I wasn't informed of it, someone must have seen something somewhere. "You still looking at that bag?" Aston asked as he walked into my office breaking me out of my thoughts.
"No, I'm wondering where you are going?" I asked him hiding the small bag under some papers in front of me. I looked him up and down seeing how dapper he was looking in his shirt and smart jeans, he was definitely out to impress someone.
"I'm dropping Brynn at her parents and then I 'm nipping to the club" he shrugged, acting as though he always dressed this way to go to the club.
I chuckled to myself, "you like this new girl don't you" it eased.
He rolled his eyes and looked at me "Not like that I don't, I just think she's nice that's all"
"I might have to come and see for myself" I smirked.
"Yeah introduce her to the brooding werewolf who has a very welcoming attitude, that will keep her here" he smiled back at me as he walked out the room.
"Charming!" I threw back. I wasn't that bothered, I preferred to stay here, retrieving the small bag I lifted the small bag again I opened the zip lock top I brought it to my nose. Inhaling deeply the hairs on the back of my neck rose. It was a strange sensation, not one I had ever felt before.
I groaned in annoyance as I felt the constant niggle in the back of my mind. It was Axel, he was trying to break through the barrier I raised this morning when he was pissing me off with his vulgar talk. As much as I loved him being straight to the point sometimes it would be nice if he would just tone it down slightly.
"What do you want now!" I snapped as I released the barrier letting him burst forward.
"You need to find her, follow Aston now, that is if you wish my all-mighty king " Axel said, I could tell by the way he said it he was being sarcastic with his over polite tone.
"Find who? and cut it with the king s**t!" I snapped.
"The female who these belong to" he answered as my hand suddenly lifted itself into the air so I could see the small bag once again.
"You can smell it's female? I can't pick up anything just yet only the fact it makes me feel weird"
"I can smell her now I couldn't earlier, it will hit you soon. She smells good, too good if I'm honest, it is similar to the smell Aston had on him when he got back from Corban house" I inhaled deeply one more time trying to pick up on anything that Axel was describing, the scent I picked up on Aston was nice, it wasn't something I would forget in a hurry.
"I'm not getting anything, why should I follow Aston? you think It has something to do with this new chick he's seeing?"
"There's on;y one way to find out" Axel hummed.
