Rose's POV
I'm busy preparing dishes for the alphas and lunas attending the gathering at Blue Sapphire Pack. The crisp voice of a woman echoes from the hall where Alpha Lucas's allies are meeting.
"My dear Beta female, Rose?" she calls out.
I turn around and catch sight of the woman, dressed in black, her belly as large as mine, gracefully making her way towards me.
"Hi, Rose! How are you? I hope you're doing as well as I am, though my belly has grown. How's your pregnancy? And where's Luna Kaylie? I'm glad we'll be giving birth around the same time. Our kids can have playdates," Luna Chiko bombards me with questions.
She's just as pleasant as Kaylie. When the three of us gather, we laugh endlessly, exchanging adult jokes about our husbands and sharing moments only we three understand. My husbands - Beta Jenson, Kaylie's husband Alpha Lucas, and Chiko's husband Alpha Gabriel - are completely understanding, letting us express ourselves fully as independent and cheerful women, without imposing anything on us. We always show our true colors. During one of our triple dates at the waterfall, Alpha Lucas even expressed his appreciation for our genuine friendship, contrasting it with women who pretend to be elegant but hide their true intentions.
," Earth to Rose. Rose ," Luna Chiko's voice interrupts my thoughts.
I smile and hug her back. " Luna Chiko. How are you... I am very fine as you are."
"Just Chiko is fine, my dear friend. No need for 'Luna'. Where's Kaylie?" Chiko asks again.
"Kaylie is performing an autopsy with Adrien at the hospital," I reply.
"What? Why? What happened?" she exclaims.
I then recount everything Lucas told Jenson and me earlier. Luna Chiko looks upset.
"Alpha Alex is so ambitious. He really wants to become Alpha King, but why not do it the right way? Can Kaylie still perform the
autopsy? Standing for hours will only tire her out. Should we go to the hospital to check on her?"
"Let's go. We're not needed here. It's better if we go to the hospital to see Kaylie. The alphas will have a closed-door meeting for another two hours," I agree with Chiko's suggestion. I'm also eager to find out the cause of Inggrid's death.
"Do we need to invite Luna Liana?" Chiko asks, mentioning Toby's wife.
"She's breastfeeding her baby. I don't think we need to invite her. I'll text Liana and let her know that we're going to the hospital and will be back here with Kaylie," I reply.
"Okay, let's go. Kaylie will be happy to see us coming to help her face all the problems," Chiko says enthusiastically.
We quickly move to the terrace and hop into her black SUV. "Are you driving? No chauffeur? Can you still drive with such a big belly?" I ask worriedly.
Oh, Rose, you know me! Even with this big belly, I'm still rocking the driver's seat! We're not fragile flowers just because we're pregnant, right? We're not incapacitated just because we're pregnant. We can take care of ourselves and our babies without constantly relying on others. Our husbands understand this well; they recognize that being overly pampered during pregnancy isn't beneficial. They know we're tough cookies. Pampering is nice, but we're not about to turn into couch potatoes,Besides, being active keeps us feeling good and our babies healthy. And hey, being an omega-turned-Luna hasn't changed my go-getter attitude one bit., I've retained my strong work ethic. I've always been self-reliant since I was young, and that hasn't changed. even though I'm now a Luna,"Chiko exclaims cheerfully from behind the wheel of her sleek black SUV, flashing a bright smile. "Let's hit the road, Rose. Kaylie's gonna be thrilled to see us swoop in to save the day!"
I grin and give her an enthusiastic thumbs up. Chiko's journey is seriously impressive. Starting as an omega and smoothly transitioning into her role as Luna? That's some serious girl power! What's even cooler is how she stays true to her roots. Chiko's not one to hide where she came from. Nope, she embraces it, owns it, and shows the world what it means to be proud of your past. With her hard work and genuine spirit, she's earned the love and respect of everyone in the Black Amous Pack. Chiko's story is a reminder that no matter where you start, you can always rise and shine to greatness.
