Antonov’s POV
“W-What the hell was that?!” Mica blurted out and closed her fist.
I still can’t believe that the tales were true. His cat like figure...
The native Russian Demon is here in Las Vegas, trapping souls of the people, eating their souls until they were truly lost.
“I’m going to get your souls!” He snickered and charged at us. I push Mica away and let the monster charge at me. I flinched as I felt his long, sharp claws digging onto my skin. We rotated in the area while still holding each other.
“Your soul feels good...” He hissed while sniffing in the air. When I got the chance, I punch my hand into his face continuously until his claws get off me. I took a deep breath as Mica went to my back and used her healing abilities on me.
“Are you okay?” I asked and turn my head to look at her. She covered my eyes and pushed it back to the front before whispering to my ears.
“I-I’m okay. Just finish him... We still need to find Nathan and Gene,” she continued and place something on my palm before taking a step back.
I inhaled deeply and closed my eyes, thinking on how I will ever stop a monster like him. His speed is like those of a wild lion; his claws are way too sharp and his fangs... His fangs that when he dig it into my skin, I’m sure that will hurt like hell.
‘You are strong as well, Anton... Utilize your abilities well,’ I silently muttered on my mind as a smile slowly crept into my face.
“Die!” He shouted and the moment I opened my eyes, he is already an inch away from me with his mouth wide open. I gathered all my strength and punch the inside of his mouth. He cried in pain as I push my hand deeper into him.
“Aah!” I shouted as his long tongue encircle my arms and dug into it. His fangs are also making its way through my skin by resisting closing his mouth.
“Antonov, your soul!” Mica shouted as a smoke is starting to emit out of my body. I could feel my strength depleting as time passes by while his eyes are staring directly at me.
“Remove your hand now before it will be gone!”
I feel a bit dizzy but I know what I’m doing... I pushed a little bit more harder before pouring my remaining energy and used my ability on him.
The power of replication.
I smirked as I replicate the thing that Mica handed earlier. An old and rusty nail she got earlier from the chair she used to smash this son of a b***h’s head.
From a single nail up to countless shits that I can’t even hold anymore. Mica noticed what I’m doing and helped to pull me away from him.
I drop all the nails as it continues replicating on him mouth, down to his throat.
I smirked as we saw him holding on to his neck and trying to catch his breath. His skin on the neck part is starting to tear up as blood starts dripping of from it. His face is now getting a bluish color as he choked to death.
I held his neck and grip it tightly while grabbing his face and let it stare directly through me.
“Let your soul be lost, for eternity...” I whispered and turn my back on him as he exploded.
“That is disgusting, Antonov. I didn’t know you had put a time bomb on him...” Mica retorted while preventing the nails that are going in her direction while I easily swayed to prevent it from piercing into mine.
The dark room we are starts shaking and slowly shifted into the normal room I saw earlier. I stopped in my tracks when I feel that something wrong is happening right now.
And I am not wrong...
“What the hell!” Mica blurted out while looking below us. This is really hell as fire spreads widely from furniture to furniture and is getting high already. I roam my eyes around and saw the broken window glasses that prevent the smoke from suffocating the whole area.
If the people in here are already lost and out of their minds then...
I slowly shifted my gaze upstairs where I feel the intense black energy coming from it.
The fire, the broken windows, everything leads to one thing...
“Holy – GENE!” I follow Mica onto the room where Gene is lying, almost lifeless on the bed. He has burned marked on his palm up to his arms and is spreading across his body. I knew what this means, and it’s a telltale sign that his life force is depleting due to the overuse of his powers.
Based on the fire earlier and the broken windows, I can conclude that he is the one who made those possible.
“He still has pulse, but it is getting weaker... We had to act fast.” I said after checking on his chest. I looked at Mica who is about to heal him when I noticed something.
“You’re abusing your ability...” I said and held her hand that is starting to get black just like Gene’s. She shook her head and took a deep breath before looking directly into my eye.
“I can do this. Trust me...” She whispered and placed her palms on Gene’s chest. A golden light glows beneath her palm as the black colors reverse in process on his body. A few more seconds and he slowly opened up his eyes.
“Nathan...”
“Mica...”
We both blurted out. I hurriedly catch Mica who fainted due to extensive use of her powers. The only good thing is that since her blood is from a healing witch’s clan, it heals herself but it honestly take time especially that Mica is just a freshman in the academy.
They are all freshmen but their abilities are quite exquisite and strong... No wonder they are chosen to travel here and find their teammates to help them be the best team ever.
Just like where we started...
I smiled while remembering how I met the hunters and how we changed everyone’s lives. Especially Sal...
“N-Nathan went upstairs... That’s the only memory I can recall.” Gene stated and hurriedly ran from the room. I lay Mica on the bed and made sure no one will ever harm her since the only bad energy I’m feeling is upstairs and I’m sure that we killed the other one a while ago.
I took a deep breath before following Gene and stopped when I saw what was happening.
“Get off him before I burn all these souls to death!”
Gene shouts and was about to burn the smoke or the souls from the entire area when I stopped him.
“Now is not the time yet...” I whispered into his ear and take a step forward. The cloud of smoke strangling Nathan a while ago dispersed and splits to many directions. We can no longer see the enemy but I can sense his dangerous aura as his laughing voice echoed in the area.
“Ooh, another souls to keep.” He said and laughs again. I went to Nathan’s position and saw him fainted because of the loss of oxygen. I dragged him behind us as Gene faced the invisible enemy.
“Show yourself you coward!” Gene shouted and tries throwing a small fireball in the center. The souls at the side just move sideways and prevent them from getting caught on fire.
“That’s what your friend said earlier. Look at him now...” He taunted and a swish of wind passes through my face. I can feel its force as if he slapped me on the face.
“Your soul smells great...” He continued as I felt my hair getting up.
“That’s exactly the same thing your comrade said, being choking and exploding to death.” I answered back that made the entire room silent until a loud, scratching sound filled the air.
“No! What have you done!” He shouted and punched me on the chest.
‘Damn!’ I muttered as I felt the force and pain from his attack. It’s really hassle fighting with the invisible enemy.
“Aah!” Gene shouts and before I saw what’s happening, I was sent flying to other directions with continuous attack on my body.
“You will all pay for your sins!” He angrily lashed out and motion all of the souls around to trapped us.
‘Just a few more...’ I silently prayed as my energy starts depleting fast and if this continues, I don’t know what will happen to us anymore.
‘I can feel her now...’ I smiled a little when the door smashed open and reveals the person I’m waiting for.
She came...
I knew it...
I knew she will be with us.
“Carina...”
“YOU UGLY PIECE OF s**t! I CAN SEE YOU AND I’LL MAKE SURE THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME YOUR HIDEOUS FACE WILL BE HERE ON EARTH!”
