Chapter 10

I didn't even remember how I got to my car. Oh, my! What a ride that was! And no, I did not mean the car ride. I didn't feel anything even remotely similar with anyone else before Hunter. Remembering how he kissed me and how his hands were all over me made me blush and I had to put the temperature of the climate control down. I returned to the castle fast and went back to my room, ignoring the glances that everybody who saw me gave me. Yes, I probably looked fun in his t-shirt and micro shorts. But it was still worth it since I remember how dark his eyes got and how his mouth parted when he saw me. He would not forget… and even if he did, I left him a little surprise to remember me by. “Sienna?!” I heard my brothers voice as I was going up the stairs, “what the hell are you wearing?!” “Erm, clothes,” I replied nonchalantly and kept going when I saw two werewolves staring at me from the ground floor. Kieran was clearly angry while Theo seemed puzzled. I gave both of them my most charming smile, “What seems to be the problem?” “The scent on you!” my brother growled, and I brought the fabric closer to my nose and sniffed it. Something woody mixed with mint. I loved it more than I cared to admit and a silly smile spread over my face. “Sienna!” Kieran growled and I jumped on my place from the slight shock. Looking at my brother, I saw his eyes glowing blue and gulped. He was pissed. But. I could use it to my advantage. “Did you seriously meet with Hunter again?” he asked. “What a big nose you have, brother,” I said to him with my best expression of Little Red Riding Hood. “Sienna!” he clenched his fists and I noticed Theo growling too. And I smiled at my most favourite weakest link, making the very oversized t-shirt fall off my shoulder as I shook it innocently. “Well, you guys were keeping secrets from me,” I sighed, “And I am a curious little witch. I had to find it out on my own. Luckily, Hunter was willing to share all the information with me. And now the genie is out of the bottle!” “He told you what he is just like that?!” Theo gasped; his brows furrowed. “Of course, he did,” I sneered, “What’s the big deal anyway?” “But…” the Beta was about to give me the information that I wanted so badly when my brother grabbed his hand and smirked back at me. “Stop it, Theo, don’t you see that she is back to her old trick?” he looked at me and shook his head disapprovingly, “Nice try, Sienna.” “Oh, dear Alpha King brother,” I rolled my eyes, “You are just postponing the inevitable!” And with that, I left the two werewolves alone and went to my room. I spent the rest of the day preparing for what had to come tomorrow. I knew that going back to the coven after what happened wouldn’t be easy. But it had to be done. After I plotted my perfect and long revenge on everyone, I felt satisfied enough to go to sleep. After a long bath, I came to the bedroom and opened my nightwear drawer, contemplating on what to go with today… But then my gaze fell on Hunter’s t-shirt and I just couldn’t resist it. However smart Kieran was, his Beta just confirmed the crucial bit of information that I already guessed. Hunter was something else. He wasn’t just a simple wolf anymore. Just who was he? I remembered his moving tattoos that tried to caress me and I did not know of a single species who could do anything like it… He was a mystery… And a hot one at that. I closed my eyes, remembering how he touched me today. One thing was for sure, I wanted more and hoped that he wouldn’t disappoint me with one of the little gifts I left for him. In the morning, I got up early and put on my black leather pants with a chiffon top and crimson red blazer with slit sleeves and high heel boots. I was supposed to wear this outfit for my first meeting of the coven clans as their new leader. But I decided not to change it even now. It screamed power and confidence and I wanted everyone to know that nothing had changed. Not for me. Kahlan might have stolen the title but he would never steal anything else from me. And even the title I would get back. I carefully curled my hair using my fire element. It always worked better than anything. And then I carefully applied my make-up, paying special attention to my lips. I wasn’t a lipstick girl. But today I wanted them red. As I was out for blood. I drove to the Coven in my new car, the old one was impossible to repair after the crash and as I parked, I saw that there were too many people in the parking lot. All of them watching me. Understandable, really. Everybody knew that I was the strongest and everybody knew that I was betrayed. They were probably afraid of me causing trouble or starting a war. And needed to see my reaction before they knew how to act or who to side with. But luckily for them, I cared for the Coven. They were my people and I was not going to destroy anything. I would get it back. I needed time to do that, but I knew I would. And there was no point destroying something that would be mine anyway, right? I waved to the people and they all waved back way too eagerly, relief on their faces. “Well, you still scare the sh*t out of everyone, S,” uncle Connor and his girlfriend Maeve came to me on the way to the main building. It was Connor’s house after all. He owned the land, the mansion, all the nearby cottages and so on. And now it was a bit strange that none of us was in charge even though when technically everything belonged to us. “Are they all in already?” I asked. “Yes, you are slightly late,” Maeve chuckled, “Intentionally, I guess.” “Of course,” I winked at her, “I’ll see you guys later.” “Good luck, champ,” Connor smirked, “I know you will not disappoint me.” “Of course not,” I smirked and went to the conference room, making sure my heels were clicking loudly over the marble floor. I opened the doors with magic for the extra effect and calmly walked in, all attention on me. I walked along the long table to the very head of it, where Kahlan was sitting in a tall chair that my uncle used to occupy for years. It pained me to see him there. He was not worthy to even wipe the dust off it. “You are in my seat!” I said loudly, crossing my hands on my chest and the silence in the room got immediately heavy. And as always, all eyes were on me. "Sienna, dear," he said and I cringed at the words. It did not sound sweet anymore. "You lost the election, remember?" he asked softly. A true leader would not tolerate such disrepect. But Kahlan wasn't it... "Oh, I remember everything," I sneered at him and turned to Harmony, who sat right next to him, "I was speaking to her. Are you lost, Harm?" My ex-best friend got pale but quickly regained herself, "Everything changed, Sienna. Just deal with it. Kahlan and I are together now!" "No objections to that on my part," I chuckled, "But do you really think that spreading your legs changes anything for you within the Coven, my dear?" I specifically used that word, "You remained in the same place you always were. If I won, you would be the fake best friend of the Head of the Coven, and right now you are a bedwarmer of the Head of the Coven. That doesn't give you any right to sit here. This place belongs to the strongest witch family. And that's still mine. Unless you want to challenge us for the title right this very moment, of course. Are you?" She gulped. I almost wished she did. I would so like to kick her ass. But Harmony wasn't stupid. She had a spec of talent, but she knew that she did not stand a chance against me. Not to mention that if she challenged my whole clan, theirs would be wiped from the face of the Earth within a day or so. Me, Aria, mum, Lex, Connor and several other distant relatives with our blood wouldn't crash them before they knew it. Even my adorable niece and nephew would destroy them. In the silence of the room, Harmony stood up and the sound of her moving the chair made an ugly noise. She started to walk away with a displeased face, knowing that she lost. But I wasn't done with her. "Shouldn't you apologize for the disrespect?" I smirked, watching her flinch at my words. She turned and looked helplessly at Kahlan. It was almost adorable how she counted on that traitor fiance of hers. I caught his gaze and chuckled, "That's only right since we have all those hierarchy rules. But again, if she wishes to challenge me..." "Apologize," Kahlan ordered to his fiancee dryly. Harmony's face went red. Such a lovely contrast with the delicate white dress she was wearing. "I am sorry, Sienna," she gritted through her teeth. "I am sorry what?" I grinned at her. "It will not happen again," she squeezed out of herself. "Good," I landed gracefully into the now free chair and looked straight into Kahlan's eyes, "Thanks for warming up my seat!"
