Luna’s PoV
Wow.
That’s the only thing I can say when I finally arrived at the nobleman’s home. I may have lived in a palace in my previous life, but as Luna, this is my first time seeing a home built extravagantly. Not even the chief’s home could compete with how vast it is.
“Luna, I think it’s best if you get going before the owner comes and yells at us for being slow again.” My co-worker is right. Since the client is an old friend of the owner, he seems a little at the edge and wants everything to be perfect.
I started carrying some of the stuff that the kitchen staff needed and brought it to an area provided by the noble. I couldn’t help but enjoy the scenery as I walked across the beautiful garden with several rare species of flowers.
“I heard that the noble family seems overly protective of the young lady since she was born with a gift that is only bestowed to a certain people. It was the power of light. Even the high church is protecting the young lady. That means something, right?” Oh- Ophelia was blessed with the power of light.
It was the most beautiful thing that I’ve ever seen in my previous life. Since I became the empress, all I ever did was surround myself with darkness and negativity. It changed when Ophelia came to the palace.
“I wonder if there will be a lot of noblemen that will come to this party. After all, this is her first time being introduced to society. I have never seen that lady even though I’ve worked here for years. The only people that permitted to serve the lady are servants that the master had chosen himself.” Oh- so the lady grows up without freedom in her hands? Somehow that sounds like she was kept hidden inside a cage.
Is that even humane?
“Luna- I’ve been looking for you. The owner wants to see you.” I nodded at one of my coworkers and went to the kitchen where the owner was.
“Luna! Where have you been? Anyway, I need you to serve in the ballroom. Do you think you can do it?” I nodded. Dealing with nobles was one of my many specialties in my previous life.
“Oh, thank you. I appreciate it. Don’t worry about the pay. Everyone here will receive double pay than what we originally agreed upon. The host is rather giving nowadays.” I smiled. That’s good because double pay means I can finally buy Gunther's medicine.
“You should go to the ballroom and see if there’s anything that lacks. Inform the person in charge if there’s anything that you think needs attention. We need to make sure this party is up to par.” I nodded before excusing myself and going to the ballroom.
When I was the empress, I hosted countless of the party, and I never once visited the venue before the actual day of the event. I can see how meticulous the decorator and the servants who work in this noble household are. They want to make sure everything is perfect for their lady since it’s her first time meeting society.
But, is it alright for someone like the lady to meet countless people without experience? I’m sure she received the education needed to meet a noble, but will she be able to handle people in real life? Somehow I’m looking forward to this party.
“Are you Luna?” I nodded when facing the servants. They were surprised to see me, but they brushed it off.
“I was told that you’re talented in magic. Is it alright if we ask for your help in certain matters?” Huh? I guess it’s fine.
“Sure. How can I help you?” The servants begin to explain to me about an issue the gardeners have to face a day before the party. The garden was invaded, but some worms killed the flower root. They tried to hire a magician specializing in earth magic, but nothing seemed to change much. The flowers continue to wilt and die, and tomorrow is the party.
“We want to ensure the lady has the best day tomorrow. Do you think you could take a look, Luna? Your colleague continues to praise you for your talent in magic.” I guess I have no choice. The owner did say to make sure everything was well taken care of.
“Let me see the garden.” The servants smiled as she led me to the back garden. And just like the servants explained, the flowers are wilting, and some are dead. What sort of worm did this?
So, how should I start? I can’t simply be snapping my finger. Everyone is watching me.
“Excuse me.” I kneeled on the ground, pretending to close my eyes, and when everyone was busy, I snapped my finger, staring at the soul with my hands, and grabbed hold of something that made the garden it's home. When I pulled my hand from the soil, I was surprised to see the size of the worm.
I couldn’t believe I was holding a slimy, disgusting creature that resembled a worm in my hand.
“Am I allowed to use fire magic?” I asked the servants.
“Yes.” I immediately burn the worm to nothingness.
“Should I do something with the flowers?” The servants seem confused.
“The flowers? Are you telling me that you’re capable of using regenerative magic on plants too?” I nodded. It wasn’t that hard to learn, and my mana is limitless.
“Show us.” It took me a few seconds to cast a spell on the flowers, and it always makes me happy to see their stupid faces as they react to my power.
“This is our little secret.” I winked before walking back to the ballroom. The moment I arrived, I looked around, making sure everything was in order. Nothing seems to be out of the ordinary, and I’m sure the noble lady will love the decor.
