While the empire was still waiting for the birth of their promised child who is to be their savior, the five great magicians sat together again but this time it was in the city of Benn.
When they had all gathered, Craig said to the other four magicians. "I have been thinking seriously about something."
"What is it that consumed your heart?" Ned asked him.
"I was thinking about that news which came from the city of Babb." Craig answered.
"Yes, that is true, I also have been thinking of it. What if it is true what that man said? What if no other person from our clan gives birth again?" Demi wondered.
But Ned said, "We should not lose hope now, the prophecy has been told and it was after the prophecy that Verona revealed herself to us so for that reason, our saviour will also be born because the prophecy has already begun to manifest."
"She has been with us all these while which means that she knew of this prophecy so she must have stopped it before now." Elda said as she looked at the other four magicians.
"This is only the fourth month since the prophecy so we should not lose hope now. There is still a high chance that the child will be born. We should focus on appointing leaders for this empire while we wait for his birth." Pero said.
"Pero is right, that is what we ought to focus our attention on right now." Elda concurred.
"We did not shift from appointing leaders." Ned replied.
"I think we have, because that is all we have been talking about ever since we saw that girl who was born from our clan." Demi said.
"No we did not, the issue concerning selecting the leaders is in the hands of the people. We are waiting for them to select a few noble men from their cities so we can make our appointment." Ned said.
"The reason why the people have not made their nomination is because we have not put pressure on them." Pero said.
"How are we going to pressurize them on such matters?" Craig asked Pero.
"I think he did not necessarily mean putting pressure on them." Demi answered on Pero's stead, then she asked Pero. "I think I am right?"
"Yes you are." Pero answered.
"Then explain to us what you mean." Craig requested.
And he replied, "We need to tell them of the importance of having a leader who is not a magician. We should make them to believe in themselves and not put all their confidence in us magicians."
"And what are we to tell them?" Elda asked, looking into Pero's eyes.
But Pero did hesitate in giving a response until the eyes of Ned, Craig and Demi were also fixed on him. So he said, "We have to let them know the reason why people of their nature should lead them."
"That does not still answer my question, what are we to tell the people?" Elda asked again.
"We have to let them know that our era is coming to an end and they will have to stand alone." Pero answered.
"That is not a good thing to tell the people." Craig said.
"Why not?" Pero asked back immediately.
"Telling them that will definitely put fear into bodies, coupled with this return of Verona and the dark lord." Demi said.
But Ned supported Pero. "He is right, the people need to know that we have a limited time with them."
"That would make them give in to the leadership of the dark lord Kees." Craig said.
"We do not need to underestimate these men, with a strong, wise and brave leader they will do very well, whereas we are going to put an end to lord Kees reign before our era comes to an end, that is the prophecy and it will surely come to pass." Ned said.
"I am totally not in support of this decision. It is better we devise another means to hasten the nomination of these people." Craig the second suggested.
"And what other means do you suggest?" Elda the fifth asked.
"I am in support of Craig's suggestion." Demi the third said.
"Since it has come to the point of voting, and we have a tie, as your present leader, I will say that we should convince the people to make their nomination as soon as possible in the best way we can but on no account are we to use sorcery in doing this. Convince them with only the words of your mouth." Ned the first asked.
"In that case, are we to let them know that our time is short?" Pero the fourth asked Ned.
"Well, that depends if you want to but make an endeavor that does not affect the mindset of the people. We need them to nominate noble men for this course." Ned answered.
"I still stand my ground that they should not know that our reign is coming to an end." Craig resounded.
"That depends on the calligra of the people I will be speaking to." Pero answered.
"You have better listen to the advice of your superior. We can never predict mare men except with the use of magic." Craig said.
"Even with the aid of sorcery, it is still difficult to predict them. Ned had said we should not use any form of magic to influence them, that means we should talk to them as though we are of the same nature even though we are not." Demi the third said.
Then Ned address them, "This does not call for argument, we all are great wizards and witches of our time and we are supposed to know what is right to do. Stopping dark lord Kees is not an easy task so we need the effort of both magicians and mare men that is why leaders should be chosen and an army must be raised, we magicians can not stop lord Kees on our own so we need the help of mare men. I have tried to stop him before and I did not succeed that is why he is back to put an end to our era. We have leaders to appoint, we have an army to raise and a sorcerer to train. All these are on our shoulders yet we have not begin any of them. So we need to go out there, tell these people what is expected of them, and what they are likely to face if they do not help us now while we are still with them. I was very happy when I heard that we have passed the prophecy round the empire so I am believing that we will also convince these men. Verona have showed herself but I am convinced in my heart that she is not yet ready to start executing the plans of the dark lord that is why she had been hiding all these while. So while she is preparing herself, we need to also make some preparations on our sides."
"We have work to do so we have to get going but all these also depend on our saviour." Demi said.
Then Craig and Demi stood up and left the discussion hall.
As Pero and Elda were about to leave likewise, Ned stopped them. "Wait!"
And they both halted, turned to Ned to hear what he had to say.
"Craig and Demi are right." Ned said to them.
"Right about what?" Elda asked.
"These people do not need to know that our era is coming to end, it will make them give into the dark lord's rule because they will believe that he is the one who will be there for them." Ned said.
"Then what should we tell them?" Pero asked Ned again.
"Just come up with something, make something up that will make them want to have a leader of the same nature." Ned advised.
"Something like what?" Pero and Demi chorused.
"I am the one to put words in your mouth. Consult the spirits and they guide you on what to say." Ned answered.
"But you told us not to make use of magic." Pero said.
"I said do not convince them using powers rather use mare words." Ned said.
"Consulting the spirits for what to say, is it not the same as influencing them with magic?" Demi said.
"They are far two different things that is why you still have much to learn." Ned said.
"Then teach us." Pero said.
"Now is not the time, and these things are taught by the spirits which gave us our powers." Ned replied as he tapped them both.
"Okay." They responded in unison.
"Go on, convince the people and make them nominate noble men for this course." Ned said to them and they both left.
