Chapter 5: Surprises

1873 Words
Ottilyn's P.O.V. *********************************************** Trina and I have been having a blast. Or, at least we were until she disappeared on me. Where the heck did she go? Gianna must not have found Pierce because I haven't been kicked out. Or maybe he didn't care. I don't know. I haven't seen him. Kind of like how I haven't seen my bestie in a while. I stumbled around the party, asking people if they'd seen Trina. Nobody had, but they also were not being mean to me either. Only Gianna and Rachel said stuff to me about showing up here and about my outfit. It doesn't really seem like anyone else cares. And I would much rather no one cared. "Hey, have you seen Trina around?" I slurred, shouting in a random girl's ear. "I think I saw her go upstairs a few minutes ago." The girl told me. "Thanks," I replied. Luckily, we're right next to the staircase. Everything here is so pristine and fancy. They have frigging marble floors for crying out loud. It's like Pierce's parents wanted to make sure that everyone knew just how much money they had. Must be nice. I stumbled up the stairs as I sipped the drink in my hand. It's quieter up here. There aren't as many people. You can still hear the music blaring though. There are a few people up here, but it isn't as crowded as downstairs. Which was odd to me. This entire place is crawling with people. They're outside, downstairs, in the pool, in the yard. Everywhere. Up here, though, there are only a few people here and there. Mostly, couples talking closely or kissing. I looked around, but didn't see Trina anywhere. All the doors up here are closed too. I tried the closest one to me on the right, but it was locked. At this point, I was about to start yelling for Trina. "For crying out loud," I muttered as I tried another door. I stopped twisting the locked doorknob, and huffed. I looked down the hall at the row of closed doors. I squared my shoulders and took a deep breath. "Trin-" Suddenly, before I could even get my best friend's name out, a hand wrapped around me from behind. The hand covered my mouth, and I was pulled back into something hard. Did someone just push me into a wall? I leaned my head back against the hard surface. My eyes lazily wandered up to connect with a pair of light brown eyes. Even through the top of my glasses where everything was fuzzy, I knew who it was. Oh, great. It's him. Pierce stared down at me with a smirk plastered on his handsome face. I gave him a flat look, but couldn't say anything due to the fact that his hand was still over my mouth. Yet, I didn't make any move to get away, and Pierce didn't push me either. "Were you looking for me, Otter?" He asked. I frowned at him. I tried to tell him no, but my words came out muffled. All it did was make Pierce chuckle. "Really?" He asked as he brought his lips down to my ear. "Because this room right here, the one you were trying to break into, that's my room." "Mmmm mm mmmhmm.," I tried. (Like I knew that.) "Well, if you're so curious..." Pierce said as he reached out to put a key in the keyhole. "Then let's go in, shall we?" Pierce chuckled as he opened his door. He shuffled us inside, and kicked the door shut behind him. As soon as we were inside with the door shut, Pierce finally let me go. I stumbled forward out of shock, but quickly whirled around. Which might not have been the best idea with how much I've had to drink. "You freaking jerk!" I shouted as I pushed my glasses up my nose, making Pierce chuckle. "I was looking for Trina! I was about to start shouting for her-" "I know," Pierce interrupted me. "That's why I covered your mouth." Pierce chuckled again as he walked into his room. I was stunned into silence for a moment. It wasn't until Pierce walked past me that I gained some sense back. I turned around to face Pierce and my words caught in my throat. Pierce was sitting on his bed looking down at his phone. I watched him tap on it for a minute before tossing it behind him on his bed. Then those light brown eyes met mine again. A smirk played on his lips. "I finally let you into my room, and all you're going to do is stare at me?" He teased. I rolled my eyes. It caused me to notice the bottle of clear liquor on Pierce's desk. I marched over to it and snatched it up. Then I quickly started to chug the contents. I need this if I'm going to be locked in Pierce Campbell's room. "Hey, yo, what the fu.ck Otter," Pierce complained as he snatched the bottle from my hand. I whirled around to see Pierce much closer to me than I thought he was. I stumbled a step back, right into his desk. Pierce stared down at me angrily as he set the bottle on the desk behind me. The action caused Pierce to lean his body against mine. Like flat against mine. I gulped and tried to move back as far as I could, my glasses slipping down my face again. "You okay Otter?" Pierce asked as he brought his face closer to mine. "You're beat red. You warm? Or... is it something else?" I just stared up at Pierce dumbfounded. His light brown eyes were teasing me more than the se.xy smirk on his lips. My mind is foggy. What is going on right now? "Answer me, Otter," Pierce ordered in a low tone. "I'm... I-it's something else," I blurted. Why did I say that? Pierce's smirk deepened. He took a step closer to me, completely eliminating the space between us. His hands were resting on the desk on either side of me. He has me blocked in and... I don't think I mind it at all. "Is it now?" Pierce asked, teasingly. "And what has my otter all flushed in such an enticing way?" My blush deepened at the tone of Pierce's voice. What did Pierce even mean by that? His otter? Enticing? Is this a joke? "Are you going to answer me, or do I have to guess?" Pierce asked. "G-guess," I stuttered. To be honest, I'm not even sure I know the answer. If I had to guess myself... I'd say that I'm blushing because Pierce Campbell is flirting with me. But I must be more drunk than I thought, because... There's no way that this is real. "Maybe you're blushing because the school's hottest guy brought you to his room... and got close to you... and maybe... just maybe... you're not as innocent as you pretend to be, Otter." Pierce replied. I stared up at Pierce for a moment before laughter started to sputter out of me. It was small at first. I was trying to hold it back, but I just couldn't help myself. It was just too funny. I thought that Pierce would be mad at me as I laughed at his egotistical and narcissistic words. Much to my surprise, Pierce smiled at me. A real and genuine smile too. Something that I have never, not once seen from him. Pierce reached up to pinch my chin as a soft chuckle tumbled from his lips. My laughter slowly died down as the air around us grew tense. Pierce looked deeply into my eyes with that genuine smile still on his face. Are my glasses fogging up? "D-didn't you tell me you h-had a surprise for me?" I asked breathlessly. That genuine smile got brighter, making my knees weak and my legs shake. "You remembered," Pierce commented. "Here I thought you never remembered anything I say to you." I rolled my eyes. "I unfortunately remember everything you say, Pierce." I muttered, slightly slurring my words. "You're always such a jerk. It's hard to forget about the things my bullies do and say to me." Pierce chuckled and pushed his body into mine, making me gasp. "It only took how many years? Geez," he mumbled under his breath. "Huh?" I asked confused. "Do the things I do and say really bother you?" Pierce asked. "You bully me on a daily basis, Pierce. You and your little pack of goons," I answered. A strange look passed over Pierce's eyes. Something that I didn't quite understand. If I had to make a guess though, I'd say that was... regret. "Sometimes... I just can't help myself. You're so... fun to tease, Otter. Your reactions... I look forward to them every day." He told me. "You could just... be my friend." I replied. Pierce smirked at me. He moved his hand from my chin to the back of my head. His fingers sunk into my hair, making my eyes flutter. "Oh, sweet little Otter," Pierce said lowly. "You and I both know you wouldn't give me the time of day if I tried being nice to you." Then Pierce brought his lips right by my ear. "And we both know just how much you like it when I'm mean to you, Otter." He whispered. A shiver ran down my spine. How did Pierce know that? I wasn't obvious about it. My own best friends don't even suspect anything. Not really anyway. What does Pierce mean by all of this anyway? What's the point of all this? Is this just another way to tease me? It has to be, right? Otherwise... What's going on here? Wait... Did Trina... What she said before... Did she have a point? Does Pierce Campbell... like me? Me? "You're shaking Otter," Pierce whispered, his hot breath fanning my neck. "Maybe now is a good time to give you your surprise." Pierce's hands fell to my hips. I gasped softly as he gripped onto me. His face nuzzled my neck. Then I fel Pierce's full lips softly press to my skin. "To be honest, I didn't have anything in mind," Pierce mumbled against my skin. "I didn't think you'd actually come, but fu.ck I'm glad you did." My eyes fluttered shut as Pierce peppered kisses up and down my neck. "Stay here with me for the night. Stay locked in my room with me," Pierce practically begged. "I promise I'll make every second worth it. I'll take you home tomorrow. Just... stay." Something about Pierce's words seemed to ring through me. I'm not sure if it was the desperate note I caught in his tone. Or maybe it's just the alcohol I drank. Regardless, it all suddenly became too much. I pushed Pierce away from me. I used too much strength, that along with the surprise from me pushing him away, Pierce stumbled backward. And I used the opportunity to run away like a coward. "Sorry, I... I uhm... I'm sorry!" I rushed out. Then I ran out of my biggest bully's bedroom like my a.ss was on fire.
