Ottilyn's P.O.V.
***************************************************************
I really wish I would have said no to all of this. I should have stood my ground and told Trina absolutely no way. Or I should have, at the very least, come dressed in my normal jeans and a T-shirt attire.
Trina managed to shove me into a very tight and revealing little deep purple dress. It hugs my curves in a way that compliments my body. Well, to me anyway. I'm sure everyone else will just think I'm fat still.
My hair was curled. Trina gave me two little space buns too. We also put gold tinsel in our hair. Which I really love.
Trina did my makeup, which means I looked professionally done. She gave me a purple smoky eye that seemed to lift my cheekbones somehow. And the highlight on my cheeks... I'm in love. Even though my large framed glasses don't really fit the vibe.
My bestie is also dressed to the nines. She has on a tight little dusty pink dress that looks more like a piece of fabric than a dress. With her figure, though, she can pull it off. Her hair is also curled, and up in space buns matching mine. Trina settled for just winged liner and the same highlight.
Trina looks so good. I wish I had some of her confidence. Then I wouldn't feel so awkward right now.
"Hey, this is gonna be fun," Trina said when she caught me staring up at the house.
We just arrived at the party. It's blaring. You know those parties you see in movies? The ones that you think never actually happen in real life?
Well, that's how Pierce Campbell's end of the year parties really are.
The Campbell home is a mansion. Literally. A huge, white mansion. With tons and tons of land surrounding it. And his parents leave almost every weekend, from what I hear.
The party is raging. There are so many people that their flooding outside. The music is so loud that I can feel the base from here. I can see almost everyone has a red solo cup in their hand too.
Did I mention there were a lot of people?
"Maybe you should just go." I said to Trina.
"Otti, please," Trina replied annoyed. "You got all dressed up for this. Look at how hot you look."
"I... definitely don't feel that way," I mumbled.
Every girl here is dressed like Trina. Well, most of them. They all look so good. I'm going to look so weird next to them.
"What do I gotta do to make you feel better then?" Trina asked.
I turned my head to her as I shrugged.
"Maybe I should just go in and tell Pierce that you're out here. He did invite you after all. I bet he would just love to come out here and tease his otter," she threatened me.
My eyes widened.
"You wouldn't," I called her bluff.
"Oh, I definitely would," Trina replied with a big smirk.
"I will literally run away," I stated.
"Yeah, cause the schools best jock couldn't catch you," she snorted.
I groaned dramatically.
"Trina, come on, let's just go home." I begged. "I don't want to do this."
"Popcorn," Trina stated.
"What?" I asked.
Trina raised a brow at me.
"Popcorn and licorice," she said.
I have her my best puppy-dog-face.
"Don't pretend like you don't know," she said.
I sighed heavily.
When Trina and I were younger we came up with a code word. If there was ever a time that one of us wanted the other to do something, or leave somewhere, or have a private moment, we said these special words. Popcorn was level one, but when you add licorice... Well, it's serious.
"This isn't fair," I whined. "We made that pact for things like doing activities with each other, or picking a movie. Not dragging me into a party where everyone is going to make fun of me."
"Okay, true, but we had a deal. Ten minutes. If you don't like it, after ten minutes, we will leave," Trina replied.
I looked back at the party raging on. Maybe everybody will be too drunk to even notice me. They seem pretty sh.itfaced to me. Plus, I can endure ten minutes of bullying.
"Okay, fine," I ground out between my clenched teeth.
Trina squealed as she pulled her keys out of the ignition. Then she threw her door open before I could complain again. I reached for the handle on my door. With a deep breath, I opened the door and got out.
My best friend skipped around her car to come to my side. She looped her arm through mine, and practically dragged me towards the house. Trina walked with confidence and grace. Her head was held high and there was a bright smile on her face.
So far so good. No one has really even spared me a glance. At least, I don't think so. I assume that all the lingering stares we got were for Trina. After all, none of them looked our way with disgust.
Inside the house was much different. For starters, the music was a lot louder. I could barely hear myself think. There were a lot more people too.
All these people did look at us though. Most of their eyes were glued to Trina, and I was thankful for that. Some of them did notice me though. I got a few nasty looks, and a few looks that seemed... intrigued?
They're probably trying to figure out who I am or what I was thinking showing up.
Trina led me to the kitchen. I was surprised that she knew where she was going. Then again, I know Trina has come to a few of Pierce's parties. She is part of the volleyball team. Honestly, Trina would probably be best friends with these people if it weren't for her friendship with me.
I used to wonder if Trina low-key resented me for that. She always made sure that I knew where her loyalty lies and that she loves me though. I am so thankful for her and Franky.
But at least Franky would have totally let me skip this.
Trina walked us into the kitchen. There were fewer people in there, and it was a bit quieter. Enough that we didn't have to scream at each other.
"Okay, so, I am going to make you a..." Trina trailed off as she looked me up and down. "Let's do a se.x on the beach. That's exactly what you look like right now, so it's perfect."
I gave Trina a flat look. She ignored me and began pulling things off the counter and out of the fridge. It made me give her a very confused look.
"You sure are comfortable here," I commented. "Almost like you're here all the time."
Trina smiled, but I could tell it was forced.
"I'm here... sometimes I guess. The girls from the volleyball team love to come over here. It's not all bad. As long as Rachel and Gianna aren't here anyway." She told me.
"I didn't know you even hung out with your teammates like that," I said.
Trina shrugged.
"Trin... are you... sleeping with-"
"What? No! I am not sleeping with anyone. Especially someone like Holden. Come on, Ott." Trina said, cutting me off.
I raised a brow at her as her face grew more and more red.
So, my best friend is sleeping with Holden. No wonder she's always here. Since Holden and Pierce are best friends. I wonder why Trina didn't tell me though. Probably because Holden is kind of a jerk to me. Knowing Trina, she probably feels awful about it.
Holden isn't that bad though. Not nearly as bad as Pierce. Still, I'll let Trina tell me in her own time. For now, I'll just tease her a bit.
"Uh, well, I was gonna ask if you were sleeping with Pierce." I said casually. "Ya know, since this is his house."
Trina's face turned so red that I nearly busted out laughing at her.
"I would never stoop so low as to sleep with Pierce Campbell." She replied. "Especially not when he has the hots for my bestie."
I gave Trina a bored look.
"Oh my god, is that Ottilyn Jones?"
I inwardly groaned at the sound of that voice.
A second later, Gianna came up beside me. She leaned onto the kitchen island to get a closer look at me. I tried to ignore her as Rachel came to my other side.
"Holy sh.it, it is you," Gianna said. "This is great. I can't believe you actually came."
"I can't believe you actually took Pierce's invite seriously," Rachel snorted.
"I can't believe the two of you are this bored," Trina said.
"Bored?" Rachel asked.
"Yeah," Trina replied like it was obvious. "Look around. There's a whole party going on. Yet, here you two are, worried about one girl who showed up. Just go to a different part of the house or something."
Gianna scoffed.
"Please," she said as she crossed her arms under her boobs. "We just don't want the likes of Ottilyn around. I mean, it's bad enough at school when everyone always has to bully her. You do realize that's why Pierce invited you, right? So that you could be... entertainment for the night."
Entertainment for the night...? What does Gianna mean by that? Did Pierce say something?
"So, what you're saying is, you two aren't the only ones bored with the party." Trina commented sarcastically.
Gianna gave her a dirty look before taking a step closer to me.
"Just leave now, Ottilyn. Do us all a favor. Because let's face it..." She trailed off as she looked me up and down. "No amount of makeup or pretty dresses will ever make up for the fact that all you are is a cheap... dirty... poor... fat loser. I mean, you look like a pig trying to win a beauty pageant right now. What did you think was going to happen when you showed up?"
"That's it," Trina said, slamming our cups on the counter. "I'm kicking your a.ss."
Gianna's eyes widened as Trina started to walk around the island. I put my hand out to stop her. Trina looked at me confused and super pi.ssed off.
"It's okay," I said to her. "Gianna can say what she wants. I would have to actually give a sh.it about her opinion for her to bother me."
Gianna scoffed and Trina beamed at me.
"Besides, I was invited. So, unless the owner of this house wants to kick me out himself... I'm staying. Dressed for my pig pageant and everything." I said snidely as I snatched my cup off the counter.
Gianna laughed as she looked me up and down.
"You think he won't?" She retorted.
I smiled at her.
"I think it might take you a while to find him and taddle on me. Let's see how drunk I can get before you do." I replied.
I tipped my cup back. Trina laughed as I chugged. Gianna stomped her foot like a child and turned around. Trina and I laughed as we heard Gianna shouting her head off, trying to be louder than the music.
"Pierce!!!"
