CHAPTER 3

We walk in the school doors to our lockers, as always, we are in a row walking side by side. No one tries to talk to me but everyone acknowledges Maney and Charlie even more so since I taught a few wolves a lesson for messing with them.

Just as I was about to get to my locker Evan the Alphas son decided him and his gooneys would make their presence know as they were all standing there waiting.

“What do you want?” I say to Evan

“That’s no way to speak to your future Alp… I mean friend.” Evan says as he realises my friends were there.

“Oh I’m sorry, but you’re not anything to me now so please leave.” “is that better for you?” I say with a smug look on my face.

that must have triggered his wolf as I could see him fighting for control in his eyes, I just smirked even more I loved how I got under his skin..

“Why do you have to be so difficult Carter! You know what, everything my dad says about you is right! Just because you lost your mother doesn’t mean you can fail at showing those who are above you no respect!” he screamed at me, like actually screamed at me!

That was it for me though, I lost it class hadn’t even begun and I’m about to show this future Alpha what I think about him and his opinions let alone his title.

“You have no right mentioning my mother, especially when she died saving yours! You only have a mother because of mine you worthless piece of s**t!” I saw absolute red I had never shifted before but I could feel her, she wanted out now!

Evan tried realising his Alpha aura to make me back down and submit but he failed, I too strong for him I won’t be made submit for anyone who doesn’t deserve my respect.

“You’re so full of it Carter! I’d know about it if that was the case.” He was pissed now.

“Maybe you’re not fit to know but ask your mother!” without a warning I punched him right in the jaw, you could here the crunch sound as his jaw dislocates, I was the best feeling I have had in a while. He dropped to the ground, I wanted more but I could feel myself in the start of my shift, I couldn’t shift here. Evan noticed and managed to control his wolf and anger while he was mind linking someone as you could see it in his eyes…

So, I ran… straight into the forest part at the back of school to try and cool off in case I finally shifted. I could hear Maney arguing with Evans friends trying to get to me and see if I was okay, but I am guessing they stopped him as I made it with no one following me.

There was so much pain, like I’ve endured pain before training with dad but this was so much worse! I was like someone was just snapping every single bone in my body one by one.

I was alone…

I was actually scared…

l wanted my mum…

in minutes I could slightly sense someone was near me but I couldn’t work out who as I was in too much pain to concentrate.

Evan came into my sight you could read the concern he had in his eyes, I didn’t understand why he even cared I seriously just dropped him in front of his friends…

“Carter are you okay?” he says

I gritted my teeth trying to talk through this pain. “Yes, I am fine! I am sorry I lost control and hit you please just leave me alone.” Tears just escaped my eyes…

“Carter have you never shifted before?” Confused was the look in his eyes now.

“NO! JUST LEAVE” I couldn’t help but yell this pain was too much.

“No Carter, my mum is on her way she can help you, coach you through this just like she did for me when I first shifted. Just try not to keep fighting it, it will hurt a lot less.”

“Why do you even care? It’s not like I’m really even accepted as part of your pack!” was I really arguing about this now… seriously Carter not the time…

“Carter it’s not like that! Your just misunderstood please, I’m sorry for what I said can you forgive me?” I could see he was being honest.

“Yes! I forgive you, now please leave me alone, no one can see me like this I’m weak!” full crying now.

“You’re not weak Carter, you are holding up 10x better then I did and I’m an Alpha.” You could see he was trying to get me to laugh but again I could see he was also being honest.

“Stop! Don’t make me laugh Evan it hurts.”

“Evan!” “Carter!” “Where are you guys?” Kate called out to us.

“MUM WHERE OVER HERE!” Evan yells out.

"Oh hunny, it's okay I'm here! I'll help you through this Carter. " Kate tried to reassure me.

"I just want my mum!" I'm crying and can't stop.

"I know sweetie, it's hard but your so strong Carter, you can do this I know you can! Your mum is always with she's here coaching you with me now!" Trying so hard to clam me down.

"I just want to see her one more time, to here her voice." I can feel myself braking

"Evan what has caused her to shift so soon? Who angered her so much it's forcing her to shift?" Kate stares her son down.

Evan tries to avoid eye contact with his mum as he says "it was me mum. I said something about her mum and how dad is right with everything he has said about her. She told me that her mum's only dead because she saved you... I also then told her she was full of it."

"EVAN JAMES I RAISED YOU BETTTER THEN THIS!! WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU EVEN BRING UP SUCH A TOUCHY SUBJECT! we will be having words about this later, just so you know she wasn't lying you have a mother because her mother saved me."

Evans face paled knowing he's messed up really badly.

"Carter hunny, I need you to look at me okay?" So I do " Good girl! Now I want you to open your mind to your wolf, see her,feel her. Listen to her okay? This will all be over soon I promise. I want you to imagine what your wolf looks like; her fur colour. You remember your mum's? How beautiful she was? I bet your going to be just like her Carter."

That was it, I you could hear all my bones cracking and reshaping I could feel my wolf fangs piecing though my gums. Suddenly there was no more pain and I could feel the dirt and sticks cruchIng under my paws, I could feel the wind blowing against my beautifully pure white fur, my hearing was enhanced the same with my sight I felt truly amazing and totally free!

"Carter hunny, you look beautiful you truly are a rare unique girl!" Shock was written all over her face.

"Mum...She's... She's a white wolf, she is completely white! Her eyes are the same colour as he human form... She's the Moon Goddess's reincarnation isn't she!" Evan says will adoration and surprise.

"Yes baby, she sure is but no one can know about Carter's wolf, do you understand Evan?"

Why?

"Because this is completely rare and there are things even you don't know or understand about white wolves yet. I need you to promise me Evan that you will not speak a soul about what we are seeing right now. I will explain every thing to you later."

"I promise mum." Evan replies

"Good now go back to class Cater will be with you soon." Kate says.

Evans walks back towards the school completely confused.
