CHAPTER 2

So I am about to have my 16th birthday which means with being a werewolf I can sense when my mate is near, a mate is like a soul mate to humans someone designed especially for us, hand-picked my our Moon Goddess.

I highly doubt I will find my mate in my own pack even if I did I reckon he would reject me because of who I am, you see when my mother died I never got the maternal guidance everyone else got when it came to respect and knowledge, my dad was a typical male and was also always busy with training the pack and his warriors. So I shut off all emotions with everyone in my pack and only showed respect to those that showed it to me and lets just say it doesn’t go down to well in my pack…

Now I am the last werewolf of my year to turn 16 so this year the Luna has been selected to host the Ceremony for all unmated wolves to attend our pack in hopes of finding their one true love, which just so happens to be organised on my birthday what a celebration that will be. Kate, who is my Luna, is the only person in my pack who I show full respect for as she took me under her wing when my mother died and treated me as her own. Even though it is her job as a Luna it just felt nice feeling somewhat wanted. Now that’s enough background on me for now.

Two days until my birthday/Ceremony, I am not one bit excited! Today is Wednesday 29th October and I am currently getting ready for school; I’m wearing my usual plain black ripped skinny jeans with my loose fitted top along with my favourite black boots.

“Carter are you ready? You need to eat your breakfast before school.” Dad shouted

“yeah, dad I’m coming down now!” I yelled back

“I do wish you wouldn’t leave getting out of bed until the last minute baby girl”

“But what is the fun in that dad, you know me I love the rush I get out of it!” I smirked at him.

“I know princess, but you have a special day coming up and I want you excited for once!” he gave me a knowing look.

“You want me to find my mate and leave already daddy?” I winked

“No baby girl, I don’t ever want you to leave me. EVER! But I also want you to be happy and if finding your mate is the only way I get to see my princess happy then that is one sacrifice I am willing to do.” He said with a slight tear in his eye.

“Awh daddy, I love you and I am happy, I’m happy I have the most amazing strong dad that loves me for who I am. That’s a promise.” I said while giving he a hug

“I am so proud of you baby girl; I love you too, but you know what I am talking… no fighting with the boys and girls at school today too! Alpha john keeps nagging me about your temper.”

“I’ll try my best but No promises okay! I Love you bye.” I’m out the door before he can respond.

I am walking to school because my dad took my bike off me to teach me a lesson, but it’s no biggie I get it back tomorrow. Maney and Charlie are out the front of the school waiting for me like the best friends they are!

“Still no bike? I didn’t think your dad was so serious?” Maney says

“he’s teaching her a lesson to ignore the haters and stop fighting.” Charlie says

“it’s only because she was standing up for us that she is in trouble Charlie have some sympathy.” Maney argues

“Guys seriously it’s all good, I get it back tomorrow!” I tell them

“Good now let’s get inside we have a lot to talk about before class actually starts!” Maney says with a massive smile on his face.

“About WHAT!?” knowing full well where this was going.

“Your birthday silly!” Charlie pipes up to say.
