WHAT'S THE MATTER?

I frowned, did he think I was joking here? I walked towards my desk, picked up a glass of water and splashed it on his face and even poured the food I was eating onto his head. He just stood there without doing anything, he seemed stunned at my reaction.
"Will you get out of here, I got better things to do than to waste my time on you, asshole. Get out." I shouted. Neighbors came crowding in, concerned and asking what was going on with me, I couldn't say a word but sob in front of them. Some of the neighbours, had to tell the Alpha to leave me alone and even threatened to kick him out of the neighbourhood, guess they thought he wanted to rape me, after all, he's an Alpha, so they can do anything to people in the lower rank.
I was done sobbing after they all consoled me and were leaving the house when my best friend appeared in front of me.
"What's up, girl?" She came closer and sat down beside me worriedly.
I explained everything to her, she gasped at my explanation. "OMG! Wait, but isn't that a good thing, was that why the neighbors were here to help you."
"Of course, I had to drive him out of my house. How's that a good thing,' I questioned. "I don't want a mate in my life, Eva. Do you think I would want to f*****g go through that again, no way will I allow such a thing, over my dead body."
"Ok,' she surrendered. "Ok, I get it. You don't want a mate, I trust and respect your judgment.' She rolled her eyes.
Eva was the only one who helped the moment I came to the city pregnant with my children after I cried and begged for help on the streets when everyone ignored me. She helped me with a job, she was a beta but she was a nice person and we've been best friends ever since and she is from the white moon pack.
She yawned. "Right. Where are the kids?' she wondered as she looked around.
"They've left for school," I replied.
"Why?" she asked, raising an eyebrow and staring at me.
"It's Monday, of course. Did you forget?' I inquired, still laughing.
"Oh, I forgot," she said as she smacked her forehead with the palm of her hand.
"Seriously, how can you forget that today is Monday?" I was taken aback, well, this is not the first time.
"I don't care, I'm not a kid going to school," she explained.
"It doesn't matter; you should know what day it is and where you are anyway," I explained.
"Whatever," she said, rolling her eyes again and stretching out her body.
"Wait for a second, you met someone and stayed overnight?" I inquired as soon as I perceived an Alpha's pheromones on her.
"And what is that supposed to mean,' she stared at me, feigning like she didn't understand what I was talking about.
"You had a one-night stand, didn't you?' I smirked.
"Come on, Athena.' She whined like a kid and I started laughing, guess she knew I was going to nag after using an expensive cologne to cover it up.
"Come on, spill the beans and tell me the truth. I'd want to hear all about it or did you think I wouldn't find out about it, no matter how hard you use cologne, I will still know because I have a great smell of sniffing,' I said gently, winking at Eva.
"Okay, you got me,' she laughed. "We met as I was returning from work, and he said he wanted to talk and that he likes me. Of course, I understood what he wanted straight immediately, so I followed him, and we went out to dinner, and before I knew it, we were in bed,' she laughed and leaned back on the sofa.
"On that same day?" I exclaimed incredulously.
"Yep, so why is it called a one-night stand?" she inquired. Eva has always been this way, always liked being naughty and spending a lot of time with men.
"Let go, Eva. I don't want to hear anything else or how it went,' I responded hastily, knowing it was the next thing Eva was going to do.
We both laughed and did a lot of things, yet. Then we both agreed to go out and have a good time. We went to a restaurant; I don't like spending money on meals, but if it's for my kids, I don't mind. Eva, on the other hand, opted to pay for the meal that we were going to eat, and we both spoke a lot of things, and it was nice to be with her.
"Will they be back from school soon?' she inquired.
"They will,' I replied, licking the vanilla from my spoon.
"Let's face it, that guy was a hottie. How come you don't like him?' she asked, tapping my shoulder.
"I'm not prepared to squander my time with any stupid Alpha that claims to be my mate.' I said.
"You're constantly saying that," she added as she nodded and slid a large chunk of fried chicken into her mouth with a fork.
"If you say so," I shrugged, returning my attention to my ice cream.
"Girl, pay attention. It's been ten years, not all Alphas are the same.' she said, immediately. I felt a smack on the face, and my heart began to hurt so badly that I tried everything I could to keep a straight face.
"It's all in the past now," I said out loud.
"I know you want to focus on your children, but you have to let someone better into your life; I know life is short, but it's better that way," she says.
"This is how I prefer to live my life. I don't want anyone else to be a part of it, and I'm not searching for someone to make me happy. Eva, my children are the source of my happiness and I'm already happy all by myself.' I continued sucking my vanilla. "I need a favor from you," I said solemnly.
"What is it?' she frowned.
