"Find out who that man is, I want him out of my life." I deadly uttered.
Cathwulf's Pov.
"She wants to find out about you,' I listened to my friend say over the phone. I sighed and sat down on the bed, taking a deep breath.
Her fallout that day astonished me, but she was not chasing me away because of some hatred or something. What I saw on that day was horror and pain in those eyes, whoever was her mate, damaged her so badly to the extent she's scared of mates or probably scared of Alphas like me.
Who the hell was that jerk that harmed her so much, who was that piece of s**t that laid his hands on her, she was mine and no one else.
Her eyes. Her eyes had different colors.
Was it out of balance, were her powers out of balance to have made her eyes different or did she annihilate someone innocent.
And those kids, who was the father of those kids?
I kept asking myself these questions but couldn't even get an answer to them.
I feel this happiness and comfort just speculating about her, just makes me smile and I can't sleep well, either. She gives me this peace of mind, and I want to see her again, no matter the circumstances.
When I clasped her cheek, she was this delicate in my hand, felt this passion and the heat within me, probably the bond made her feel that way, realizing how her reactions towards me was, she wailed for help and attracted all the neighborhood, who then, turned against me and strictly warned me to stay away from her.
I was embarrassed. Couldn't they tell by our scent, we were mates but she wasn't letting me through, all she wanted to do was for me to get out of her house and I got it.
Yet, I want to see her again.
"About me? You mean, finding out my real name."
"Yes, Cathwulf. She's betting on me to do it, seems like she wants to reject you immediately and get you out of the way.'
"Is there no way I can get through this? Can't she just calm down and hear me out, I need to speak with her.'
"Cathwulf, I don't know what to say about that She knows I'm a private investigator. So, even if I don't find out, she will do so by herself and wouldn't care how much cash she spends doing that."
I sighed. "What do you want me to do?"
"I can't answer that for you, Carthwulf, just try to talk to her and see if she can hear you out, dude.' She hung up.
I dropped my phone on the bed in frustration and smacked my forehead on the wall.
This was frustrating.
Athena's Pov.
"What took you so long to use the toilet?"
"Nothing,' she shrugged. "Just cleaning up my p***y properly."
I laughed. "Let's go, my kids would have been back by now,' Eva bobbed as we both got up and left the restaurant and she used her car to drive us home. And as soon as we got home, and entered inside we saw something that shocked us both.
This is going to be a long day. Long day.
We were both shocked at what we saw and Eva's mouth gaped open, and she burst out laughing so hard that she fell to the floor, except for me. I wasn't furious or ashamed, but I was worried, and it made me smile seeing their expressions.
"Eyolf and Kiara, what happened here?" I inquired, but instead of responding, placed his hands in his trouser pocket and scoffed with flour all over his body and even on his hair.
And had her arms folded across her chest and pouted with flour all over her body too, and the worst part was that they were both turning their faces away from each other and not even looking at me.
Were they still fighting because of what happened this morning? No, they won't quarrel because of it; instead, they should be something that made them spill flour all over the place.
"Eyolf, you're the senior one here. So, tell me what happened.' I asked before he could respond.
Kiara, too, conceded.
"He hacked into my laptop," he screeched angrily.
"What! Eyolf, why will you do that?" I looked at him.
"I did it because I wanted to know what she was up to, and she was simply overprotective about it, and it seemed suspicious anyway," he calmly explained.
"Suspicious, my foot. You have no right to intrude on my privacy, and that is completely unacceptable. You've been getting on my nerves since this morning, and I've forgiven you. When I got home, I told you I wasn't going to show you what's in it, and instead of respecting that, you went ahead and hacked into it. You shouldn't have read my diary,' Kiara shrieked, sobbing.
"Eyolf, is it true?" I inquired.
"Yes, mother."
"You shouldn't have done that, and I've warned you several times that you shouldn't hack into someone else's possessions or privacy," I replied, staring at him. "And what caused this flour to be all over the place?" I inquired, and they both gazed at each other before turning away.
"Why are you guys not responding to me?" I persisted.
"They look like masquerades," Eva continued to giggle.
"When I hacked her PC, Kiara poured flour on me. She wanted to hit me, but I kept dodging her, so she became enraged and left. Before I knew it, she spilled baking powder on me,' he stated casually, rolling his eyes.
"And you poured it on me as well.' She said this while sticking out her tongue.
He taunted, 'Aww you're such a crybaby.'
"I'm not a crybaby,' she yelled.
I know that if I allow this to continue, trust me. It's not going away.
I had to handle their squabbles, and I was fatigued as a result. And, being the wonderful person that she is, Eva joined me in resolving it as well.
This was so relaxing that I went down on the sofa, with Eva assisting me in preparing lunch, and before I knew it, I was dozing off.
