"Well, he's smarter than you, doing make-up all day sitting in the mirror for hours." My mom added as she laughed.
"Seriously! I knew it, I know that you will always support him,' Ava rolled her eyes again. "That is my passion, at least I bring food to the table with what I do all day."
"It's not like we are poor anyway, your petty income can't even solve half of our daily needs,' Elsa smirked as she added.
"Repeat what you just said,' Ava demanded.
This was going to go down.
'Not a chance,' Elsa said, giggling and hiding her face from Ava.
She is the last born of the family and still is. Elsa is ten years old, gold eyes, pointed nose, blonde haired little girl, innocent and naive, well she is still my little sister.
"Ok, let's not argue and try to help mom in fixing all this stuff." I said, I knew where this was going, endless arguments which would go on for hours and hours nonstop, it's better it ends there. I took a step forward, carried one of the heaviest boxes, groaning at how heavy it was.
"Isn't that too heavy for you." My mom worriedly said as she came to me, wanting to help me to carry the box upstairs. "Mom, don't help me, I'm an Alpha. Come on, I can't let you do the work when I'm here for you, don't taint my reputation. Just go to the kitchen and prepare some chili juices for some strength and energy." I grinned and began walking up the stairs trying to see my feet, she laughed and Wendy interrupted.
"No way, Carhwulf, am I drinking that. The last time I drank that junk I almost collapsed, what are you even saying, that juice is a stupid drink."
"But it's still good for your energy,' my mom said and chuckled.
"Mom, don't give me that, I'm not agreeing to this, give Cathwulf the drink and not me, I will never drink something like that, it tastes awful and ew, so disgusting.'
"Yeah, I'm not drinking it either,' I heard my other sister Elsa comment. "It's pretty disgusting I don't even know what Brother Cathwulf sees in the drink anyway."
I just giggled, listening to their complaints as I went to one of the rooms and dropped the box on top of the bed and sighed. I'm glad the apartment is a nice one, so wide and comfortable, the fresh air is breathtaking and white and colors in the house are refreshing and makes someone feel safe within, the windows are intact and wide too.
Pretty cool.
I helped my mother unpack some of her stuff while she prepared lunch since we were weary of all the work we did at the house.
I strolled to the window and opened it, looked around the area, sniffed some air, checking if I would be able to catch some scent, there was none, glad the rogues and the wolf hunters didn't chase after us.
I wouldn't let anyone ruin my family, I thought as I clenched my fist, when I heard, "Kiara you haven't had anything to eat yet," Seems like a lady is in the house, I thought.
"I don't want to eat what Eyolf cooked." The little girl yelled, pouting, clinging on to her school bag as she walked fast to the school bus I guess was awaiting them. I smiled at her how puffed up and cute this little blonde was, the one who went to the school bus first, just casually walked without glancing back at all, it seemed to me they were siblings and they look so much alike.
Were they twins or something? And they are both gorgeous too, but they took after their mother it appears.
"Kiara," I heard the lady calling out again, coming out of the house and approaching the school bus, waving and smiling, probably at her kids and the driver.
Her voice was good.
"Good morning, Miss Athena," I could hear them from my window, loud and clear.
Athena. That was a good name.
"Good morning, Eric," she said happily and waved again. The bus began to move after the children boarded, the woman waved until it was out of sight.
I felt my throat tighten, as I swallowed, staring at her, causing butterflies in my stomach. She was so beautiful, curvy and sexy, damn.
I can't believe there was someone this hot in the neighborhood, how could I not have noticed this at all. My body began getting hot and dizzy, I staggered a little and when I looked again, she was gone.
Something doesn't feel right with this lady, something doesn't feel right at all.
Oh, I forgot to introduce myself.
My name is Cathwulf Aegenwulf, I'm almost twenty- nine years old, almost six feet tall, black hair, built and athletic, and I could say very muscular, red lips, pointed nose, bright features, dark red eyes, I'm always the feared and the mysterious one. People become this terrified sometimes for how powerful I am and I don't care and that's also because, I'm an Alpha, from the Bloodstone pack, a dangerous pack to be precise. We don't play and mess with our clan, we take things seriously and protect it from being taken over and wrecked by the other packs.
I'm an Alpha and I protect what's mine to protect, especially my family.
"Cathwulf, can you go downstairs to this house,'' my mom pointed at the same house. The lady entered as soon as she came into the room.
"Umm…why? Do you know the people that live there? I asked and she shook her head.
"No, I don't know the person but I was told that I should ask her about the neighborhood just now and she will tell me what I need to know. I should've gone there by myself to ask about the rules of this place, but I'm a little bit tired."
"Ok, let me help you but Let me take a bath and change first, can't go there looking like this." I pointed at how sweaty I was and my mother just nodded and gave me some space.
