Chapter 10: Answer (3) *** “Honey, is this really news to you?” Amanda asked as she touched her husband’s face gently. “Wait a minute… I’m still having a hard time… Is that why he’s never had a girlfriend?” Albert asked, though the question might have sounded absurd but it was a way for him to confirm. “Yes, I guess he didn’t tell you because you’d react like this…” Amanda said as she crossed her arms. “Now that I think about it… it’s not that hard to believe…” Albert said after a bit of thought. “Do you dislike it? That Ken likes the same gender?” Amanda asked as she turned to her husband. “No… rather I’m surprised… However it’s still my boy, regardless of what gender he’s into.” Albert said, finally calming down. “Haha~ Darling you seemed so shook moments ago.” Amanda couldn’t help but laugh at her husband’s reaction. “Don’t laugh… anyone would be shocked in my place.” Albert said as he turned his head away. “I guess you’re right… then are you disappointed?” Amanda asked in a bit more serious of a tone. “Of course not, this changes nothing. Ken is still my pride and joy.” Albert said with confidence in his voice. “I’m glad…” Amanda quietly said as she hugged her husband once more. “Though I am worried for what his boyfriend will go through…” Albert continued. “What do you mean?” Amanda questioned. “Even though Ken isn’t our biological son, he’s more similar to us than you can imagine… He’s picked up all the business skills I ever taught him, while still picking up your ability to read people... I’m thinking his boyfriend will have a hard time with someone like him.” Albert said in a worried voice. “Well that’s for his boyfriend to worry about, so relax honey~” Amanda said in a cheery voice as she giggled lightly… * * * Meanwhile the two students were in the same room talking things over… “Young Master, isn’t it safer for us to go back with Auntie?” Lynn asked in his professional tone. “Do you really like being around her so much?” Ken seemed to be dissatisfied with that suggestion. He moved closer to the other student. “I do enjoy being in her company. However I do not understand the question-” Lynn was suddenly cut off by the other student. “If you enjoy being around her so much, you should be her bodyguard instead.” Ken said in an angered tone. “…..” At those words Lynn remained silent. “You’re always smiling at her… excited to see her… worried for her… Somehow it seems like you’re never the same with me.” Ken muttered quietly but since he was next to the other’s ear, everything he said could be heard clearly. ‘Young Master is misunderstanding everything…’ Lynn thought to himself but didn’t dare speak, he just continued to listen. “I’ve noticed this for years but you always act different around her. You call her ‘Auntie’ but you continue to call me ‘Young Master’ it feels like you’re purposefully putting distance between us.” Ken spoke in a low voice, he seemed genuinely hurt at the moment. ‘It’s because… If I call you by your name I’ll start getting the wrong idea…’ Lynn thought to himself as he looked at the other student. “If you’re really in love with Amanda… then I won’t stop you. But you have to reject me properly at least.” Ken said as he hugged the other student. He looked like a child snuggling in his mother’s chest. ‘Me? In love with Auntie? No… that’s not it… She’s the person that took me in when nobody else would… I don’t have such impure feelings towards her…’ Lynn wanted to correct the other but somehow his voice wouldn’t come out. “Come on… Stop keeping quiet… Stop holding onto your words… Stop giving me the same blank expression you always do… is it too much to ask…?” Ken’s voice slightly trembled as he spoke. It was complete silence that seemingly both of them refused to break. All that could be heard in the room was the two student’s breathing… * * * “…I’m not in love with Auntie.” Lynn finally said after the longest of silence. “You’re a bad liar…” Ken muttered after hearing the other’s response. “I’m telling the truth.” Lynn insisted. “Then…” Ken took his free hand and placed it on the other’s chest. “Why is your heart beating so fast when I talk about her?” He asked as he felt the other. ‘That’s not it… My heart isn’t beating this fast because of Auntie… it’s because of you…’ Lynn wanted to voice those thoughts but was unable to. “So? Are you going to tell me the truth?” Ken insisted, he raised his head to look at the other’s eyes, but was surprised by what he saw…
