Aashir had dropped a bomb on me last week and I had been worrying since.
I still hadn’t understood who was looking for me. I understood my father was one of those people but another person inquiring … could it be Jay? No, no, it wouldn’t be him. He wouldn’t look for me, not in this lifetime.

The doorbell rang at that precise moment and I looked at the time. I didn’t have anyone visiting except my Aunt Sharon, but she wasn’t going to be in Seattle until later tonight.
I walked over to the door and opened it, thinking it could be one of my friends checking in on me.
But I was surprised when I opened the door and saw my father of all people.
