Silver
The morning glory was dancing in the greenest grass as the sun rose in the sky, it shone with it’s warmth, dwelling on the ground. The snow sparkled like a sharply cut diamond when the glorious sun rays fell over it. The scent of the ocean breezes hit the nostrils as they were telling me the story of a siren.
I caught up with the crumbs of the snowflakes gathered in the royal garden, as I walked over them bare feet. The cold sensation on my feet healed me for a while. They brought a sense of relaxation that even in this chaotic world, we still have hope. Now that my daughter is back, I have a reason to hold on for the things I have waited for in my life. Though, there is no sign of Elijah anywhere, and I am depressed with his absence, I am trying to appear strong while I am broken from the inside.
The crunches heard from behind and by the way, the steps landed on the white sheet of snow, I could tell who was approaching me.
“My lady, is everything fine?” her voice was soothing like the morning tea but even though she was calm, i can interpret that there was an uneasiness lingered in her voice.
I turned around to glance a look at her. She looked as beautiful as a freshly bloomed rose in the midst of autumn. A silly smile curled up to my lips and I blinked my eyes gently.
"I cannot say that everything is fine, but I believe that we have a hope for a future now. The words won't be able to express the feeling I have and the thoughts that are running through my mind. Still, I believe that Everything will be fine." I said to Daphne who looked at me with her narrowed gaze.
I was sure that she might have rolled her eyes several times while I expressed my thoughts, but I can't blame her though. My own bipolarity is my enemy. It makes me sound like a different person.
"So, you met her. What do you think about it? Just don't go with your motherly feelings for god's sake. I am here not to pass the time. I am worried about this whole kingdom." She was concerned and I appreciated that.
"I believe we should give her more time before we reveal a few things to her. As we all know that she might be under Carmen's influence and she can be dangerous if the time comes. But, I want to know what she knows and to what extent?" I scrunched my brows together as I thought about all the incidents that have happened since we found out Elijah is alive.
"Of course, we cannot afford to make mistakes and we cannot conclude anything with a blunt judgment. However, I still consider it as a risk, I mean… giving her a chance." She said and I glared at her.
"I understand that she is your long-lost daughter that you were dying to see but do not forget about the prophecy… Elijah might have deceived all of us but he is not stupid. After all, he hid her from us so cleverly, which entirely makes sense about the prophecy itself." She carried on with her thoughts.
"What am I supposed to do? Throw her out? I wish it was easier to do than say. Daphne.. I appreciate that you care about me and the kingdom but sometimes, we all have to risk it all. We never know what the future holds for us and I believe that we should leave it to god. She is my daughter, my blood. She is your niece… No matter how hard you try to appear strong and emotionless, deep down in that heart, you care about her and Elijah. Please, stop pretending like someone else." I yelled at her for irritating me.
I wiped the tears which were filled in her eyes and nodded her head.
"I am sorry, I did not want to upset you with what I just said but please, try to understand me.. just try to walk in my shoes… Have you ever thought about it? Just try to replace Abria with Igor, and see the difference. You will feel what I am going through." My voice was hoarse as I was filled deeply from the inside.
My overwhelming emotions were too strong to hold and the floodgate opened. It was a mother crying for her baby. The girl lying in the bed was once in my arms. It was like a faint memory of when I used to hold her before she got abducted by Elijah. I want to touch her face and make her sleep in my lap, shower all of my love so she won't feel all alone.
"I am sorry… I was being selfish." Daphne said with a heavy voice.
I shook my head and smiled, "you don't have to apologize… it's not your fault, more you are just performing your duties. Sometimes the person is not wrong but circumstances." I patted her shoulders and she smiled back.
Suddenly, a guard approached us hastily and halted when he stopped us. For a while, he appeared perplexed and I frowned at him for such a behavior.
"Pardon, your majesty… but your presence is required in the infirmary." He informed us in a stuttering tone.
"What's the matter? Is everything alright?" I inquired further but I assumed that the matter required my attention for now.
"Yes, the princess is out of control and I am afraid that she might kill a few healers of ours." The guards looked genuinely worried.
Daphne and I exchanged looks and we ran to the infirmary to check the happening this guard was telling us about. It didn't take much time as we arrived but I could hear loud noises like screaming and crashings.
As soon as I entered the infirmary, I saw the hottest flames dancing all over the place. It was difficult to pass through the flames so I started to freeze them. Just one energy ball was required to settle everyone down.
As soon as the flames burned out, my gaze fell on Abria who was glaring at me with the same pace. No one has dared to challenge me like that except Lucian, but I sealed his fate and I will do it if it is required today.
"What is this mess for?" I yelled at Abria for destroying this place.
I completely understand the fact that she won't get along easily but there is something called respect. If I don't respect the people around her, I will reach her how to.
"You said I can leave when I recover.. Now let me go…" she remarked to me.
Her arrogance got on my nerves and I decided to drop the fact that she is my daughter and I will handle it my way.
"I said you are not going anywhere because this is your home…. This is the place you were born. This is the place you were supposed to live and be raised under my supervision. It's because you are my daughter…" I revealed the truth with my heart. There was no room to create more mess. I don’t know how much she knows and i don’t care because i will reveal everything to her. She is my daughter and the future of this kingdom.
I don’t care what Daphne will say about this, but i am taking the risk. I have to take the risk for me, for my loved ones, and for this kingdom. The poison carmen have filled in her mind is need to be neutralized and I will do whatever it takes to do that.
"You are joking, right?" She was displeased with the fact.
I was rigid on my statement and she appeared frustrated, agonized with this news. And i completely understand.
“I don’t believe this. My mother left me when I was just a baby. My father raised me alone. I have no mother. Stop lying…”
"No… why would I? Abria… you are my daughter… you don't know how I was living without knowing if you were alive or not… that dreadful night changed everything… i never left you or abandoned you but you were kidnapped by your own father..” i ran to her
I was in the middle of telling Abria how she got lost when she interrupted me.
"No!!! No!! This can’t be true. You are not my mother. I don’t believe a single s**t you say… i don’t want to stay here… I have to go… you are just wasting my time…” Abria burst into tears and started to run in the opposite direction.
I tried to stop her but she was fast. She was out of control so I freeze the floor to stop her, but unfortunately, she slipped and fell.
I screamed at the top of my lungs… “Abriaaa…….”
I saw the darkness getting over my eyes as she fell from the corridor but the next moment i was relieved when she was saved by the time i approached her.
Abria gasped as she was pulled back and her eyes met with his brother’s eyes.
“Dwyn?” she halted and soon she fainted in his arms.
I was clueless and gulped down the lump formed in my throat. But sighed reply when he carried her back to the infirmary, safely.
